  1. I don't think it's interesting at all. Tennyson is only here because any other option is someone who needs to be playing as opposed to sitting in the press box. If there's a single injury, he will be bypassed by the player that is recalled.
  2. If you were a Bruins fan, you'd have no idea what happened because you only pay attention to a team when they win.
  3. I haven't watched these clips at all, so I'm not going to weigh in on the specifics here. All too often though, people think of responsibility always as a simple yes/no, one party is completely responsible and the other is not. That's just not how things work. It lies on a continuous scale. Yes, there can be cases where it does all fall on one person, but the vast majority of the time there's some sort of split. Does taunting someone make a punch to the face required? Of course not, but you should probably be aware of the possibility. Now this is where PC principal chimes in with the victim blaming comment, because we like to take very generic statements and re-frame them as something far more specific than they ever were. People do need to be aware of the fact that their actions can lead to unfortunate results. All I know is that if you asked both parties today about this fight, I'm guessing Eller's not all that angry about it.
  4. Cut 42 games-worth of revenue off the schedule? It doesn't matter whether or not it should happen, it's about as likely as Babe Ruth returning to the mound for the Red Sox in game one of the ALDS.
  5. The only way suspension should have been on the table for Marchand was if the instigator penalty was within that window where it is mandated. Apparently that's not the case since there's chatter as to whether or not a hearing was scheduled. But even then, they would have rescinded it because only in the NHL can you have something mandatory that isn't mandatory.
  6. I want to say Beaulieu, just to go with arguably the least popular guy on the team. My second pick would be Hutton, but sadly he's not an option.
  7. Ahhh crap, I had a feeling it could be something like that. The colors are so evenly spread and not a single shirt has fallen or shifted, so I was kind of hoping that was the seats themselves. I'd do that in a future building renovation. It's a cool look.
  8. How long have the seats been different colors like that? I haven't been in that building in ages so it's all new to me. It's a cool look, granted I don't hope to ever see it on tv.
  9. Has there ever been a time in the history of the game of hockey where people have been happy with the line combinations?
  10. I've never really understood the need to put that start of the season logo out there inside the blue line each season. Everyone already knows it's the start. Are there really people tuning in who aren't sure whether or not it's a preseason game?
  11. I just bumped into a coworker named Karen and she told me that she will be late for a meeting today because she has a meeting with Karen. And then without even pausing for a second, she immediately said "there's another Karen, so don't think I'm crazy".
  12. All my neighbors move away.? (these emojis suck)
  13. Did that instigator call fall within the time window that calls for the automatic suspension, which is immediately followed up by the automatic rescinding of said suspension?
  14. My jersey is waiting for me on my bed when I get home!
  15. Marrone confuses me. He's an offensive guy, but it's always strong or elite defenses that have made his teams go. I want to think he's probably a guy who hires and delegates with his defensive coordinators, but he's definitely always been given a ton of talent on that side of the ball.
  16. Why are they even asking him about another team's policy?
  17. I guess I never looked all that closely, but I just assumed they were using that same somewhat boxy font that has pretty much always been used with hockey.
  18. As long as it's not some other school in that immediate area (as I say this, I realize we actually have 2 of the other 3 schools covered).
  19. Are they not able to use the actual number fonts in these posts. The rounded numbers look so awkward to me. Sadly, I worry that I just gave some fuel for the "Sabres social media sucks" thread.
  20. Don't worry, it didn't go over every poster's head.
  21. If that's the full list, this would actually be the first time ever for three 100 win teams from the same league. Every other one was a 2/1 split between the AL/NL. Each of those post-1998 lists definitely do not have two teams from the same division. KC and the Yankees definitely weren't in the same division in 1977, so that one passes the cut too. It doesn't look like they had divisions back in 1942, so I guess that year technically squeaks by too. So yes, it's the first time ever for both scenarios I mentioned... assuming wikipedia is accurate on that one.
  22. Is dark looking for work? It would be nice to have a sleeper agent on that team. I'm surprises to see them lose two. It's pretty much always going to take injuries for a goalie to be claimed, since they need to stick in the NHL after the claim. So it's a bit of a rarity to see that sting the same club twice, or to even have three potential backups all on the same roster.
  23. Looking over the standings, does anyone know how often there have been two 100 games winners in one division, three in the same league? I'd imagine two in one division was a bit more common back in the 4 division days.
  24. I'm amazed that people continue to fall for this act over and over.
  25. We should be first in the priority order for waiver claims, right? I'd be curious to see if any other team placed a claim.
