  1. Exactly, if they do in fact want him playing in the playoffs (which is now obvious), he should be given some time to gel a bit with the other Amerks.
  2. It's also a motivational thing too. It's good for the heads of these players to know that they've actually been rewarded for how they've played. You're essentially dangling the carrot a little closer to their face, they've gotten closer to reaching their goal.
  3. What's the price there for a normal game?
  4. Did they clean up the mess Bob left behind yet?
  5. Are you trying to ruin my day?
  6. I'm fairly certain that it's next to impossible to keep him out of Detroit, but I'd throw every dollar I had toward Steve Yzerman. Hell, move the team offices to Detroit if that's what he wants.
  7. I can't tell if this is a step up or not from the Cody quota we had 5 or so years ago.
  8. Ahhh, nice. I know I had turned them off a long time ago. Interesting though, it still shows up as something you can ignore when you go through the ignore user options.
  9. This whole ordeal brings up an important question. Can an avatar be ignored? You can shut off things like signatures, but I don't see the option for avatars.
  10. We just had a regular department meeting that they hold quarterly. At the start, they announced that one woman was retiring. After a little talk about how long she's been here, someone asked her when she's leaving. The woman responded "right now", then immediately stood up and walked out. It was the best exit I've ever seen.
  11. I think they should have released it before Infinity War. That one set the bar in a really odd place for the movie. It's not that the hurdle was too high to clear, but more like you're running in lane 2 but the hurdle is in lane 6.
  12. Ha, the crappy sports radio around here has been talking for a while now about him signing like it was a foregone conclusion. I guess they're not all that familiar with how kids paying to go to Harvard tend to stay there for the full four years. Donato's the only one I can think of that left after his junior year. I'm blanking on the name of the one kid who left after his freshman year (Montreal draft pick), but that was a fit issue more than anything.
  13. Or he could have kept the draft picks and used them on the wrong guys and they'd be even worse off than they are now. Nothing about Murray's draft record screams to me that he would have gotten it done with anything beyond the very early pick. Being generous, outside of his early picks, he landed about 3 cases of uncertainty. He could have taken this guy, he could have taken that guy. Sure, but he also could have taken any number of the questionable guys within that range as well. But apus pretty much nailed it. The problem wasn't trying to accelerate the process, it was blindly overpaying for everything. I will never understand how with the goalie market was that season, how Murray wound up paying more than anyone else for probably one of the more questionable players available. But hey, we also got David Legwand. That was his other issue, he was too easily convinced to add on a couple extra JAGs to every trade.
  14. Inkman would have gone in a completely different direction with that joke.
  15. I've gone out of my way to watch that show a couple times in the last few weeks. It truly is a national treasure that I overlook far too often. 55 years worth of shows and they've only had two hosts. Amazing. I hope they end it when Trebek has to step down. And F that disease, particularly the pancreatic variety.
  16. Halifax player name in all caps with exclamation points!
  17. Just to confuse me more, they apparently both played for Cleveland last year.
  18. I get my Bills CBs named Gaines mixed up. EJ was the good one, right?
  19. Apparently a new Bill and Ted movie is official now. I wonder what they'll use to travel through time in this one.
  20. He looks like he'll be comfortable in Sabre colors. Clean off all the ads and he's good to go.
  21. I'm a fan of giving guys like him that first full year in the AHL, and then being the guy who rides the shuttle back and forth when needed due to injury the following year. So yeah, he sees the majority of his time in the AHL, but gets spot duty from time to time.
  22. How old is your son? It seems like only yesterday you were telling us your adventures with the Chinese exchange student.
  23. I hadn’t heard about that. Time for some googling. But I won’t sign up for that one unless William Shatner gets to point out something on the wing.
  24. That’s why I want to know if his film making would translate to a comedy movie. I’m shoehorning him into the only role I know for him. I’d love to see more of it, but I get the feeling from his recent success that we may not see that for a long time.
  25. I hope that talent someday translates to a comedy. He's getting so much positive press lately, but horror is a genre I just can never get into. So as good as he appears to be, I'm not going to be seeing either of these movies.
