  1. Today
  2. So, the next time the Sabres miss the playoffs, let the league slip them the mystery lottery win which has never happened when they haven't been the league's worst team and only happened 2 out of 4 times they were the league's worst team.
  3. NHL players can't be traded for money.
  4. 4 years more than the red wings , maybe Atlantic is hardest part of the league
  5. I used to make hard cider for many years. I stopped around the same time I had kids, but kept my stuff. Back then I always thought beer was too much work. Then a couple months back I saw a YouTube clip on the Brew in a Bag method. I ordered a mesh bag off Amazon, got some ingredients from a homebrew store, and pulled out my old stuff. Some of my BBQ thermometers and outdoor frying equipment came in handy too. For my first batch I went with an Amber Ale. I thought it was okay, but everyone else really liked it. My second batch I've got fermenting is an IPA. I'm hoping it doesn't turn out too hoppy as I went for flavour over bitterness. My next batch will be a lighter American Wheat Beer like Blue Moon, but I think I'd like to try to sub out another flavour for the orange. Maybe lemon or lime? Any ideas? I'm thinking I'll shoot for maybe 4% over 5% as I want this to be a drink by the pool beer. Anyone else into the hobby? Any recipes or stories to share?
  6. Bowling Byron? … and were worried about AI killing us all?
  7. Seems that they were right on with the view that Byram would be walking straight to free agency in two years, because that is exactly what happened. Sabres should have traded him before the draft. Now, and as noted, they have an asset that is diminished in value.
  8. OK Mr @7+6=13 wow me with your hockey knowledge. The question was "what will an NHL GM offer for Bryson"? You disliked my response, i.e. loose change (like a 6th rounder, a grade b prospect, or a minor league tweener). The the guy is an undersized career 7-8 defenseman on a bottom tier team. The guy is decent skater that moves the puck when he has room, but he gets into big trouble under a forecheck, and he cannot clear the net front. He is not much offensively, does play PP, and should not play PK. You seem to have other thoughts. What is the correct answer? What will Bryson get on the trade market?
  9. Maybe Terry has been complaining to the league about NTCs (without taking any responsibility for creating the situation that put Buffalo on all the NTCs).
  10. What do you mean by #2? And anything the league can do to even help the Sabres?
  11. Good to hear. Maybe they can lean on Terry to get ***** serious or needle him enough that he wants to sell.
  12. Great. Maybe the league will start tilting the draft lottery towards the Sabres in years it matters. Hurrah. More #1 OA picks.
  13. You may be correct, but to me I look at him as a 'unit', him and Tage. As I posted a week or two ago, as a combo, the two of them meshed so well they were one of the most dangerous combos in the league. It wasn't just 2-3 games, in almost 20 games together, when they were on the ice they scored goals at a greater pace than Draisaitl/McDavid and Matthews/Marner. Now, can you EXPECT that level of production to continue? Probably not, but I don't think its unreasonable to think it can tale a step back and still be really good. In 352 minutes played together, when they were on the ice even strength, the Sabres scored a goal about every 12.5 minutes. That is super, super productive. Again, since it wasn't over 20 minutes, or even 80-100, it was over 352 minutes (not a small sample size), I think it would be silly to not see where that combo can go this year. For comparison, Draisaitl/McDavid scored a goal together on the ice ES last year in just over 400 minutes once every 13.1 minutes..and their career numbers together are close to once every 14 minutes.
  14. Well, It was obviously before the 2 year deal for Byram, but anticipated he'd be walked right up to FA. There's not much encouraging there. Great if the league puts some pressure on Pegula, because the unhappiness of the fans doesn't seem to move the needle for him.
  15. Shocker. Bout time the league took notice of this ***** show.
  16. Mentioned on Off The Post Podcast 1. New CBA Done 2. Arizona and Ottawa Situations settled Maybe the NHL is going to look into the Sabres next
  17. Greenway is a 4th line guy when healthy. I think Tage - Norris - Tuch as a line has a playmaking deficiency, it also means other teams can match all their good D players against 1 line.
  18. Do you really think that I’m unaware of the limitations of KA? Have you read my posts about his lack of ability as a GM and his less than mediocre performance during his tenure? You may expect him to act beyond his ability but I don’t.
  19. Elite defensive forwards play on FL2 against an another teams first line (when at home and you can matchup better). I have no issues with him moving up to a second line role (assuming Greenway/Zucker aren’t both injured or producing). I also now he is an analytics darling and loved by the masses on SS. But you need your best talent on the first line. Tage/Norris/Tuch. These are known quantities. Men who score goals.
  20. I know, but that's been an ongoing thing with me forever. Don't build a regular season roster that you know will fail in the playoffs. Start with the idea of building a playoff type roster and keep upgrading talent until you get there and stay there and compete there. We need players who open up space for the other skill players and players who are on the ice when somebody rocks Thompson or maybe this year it'll be Dahlin. We need grit on every line not just the bottom 3. Joshua isn't Tom Wilson (the ideal version of top 6 grit) or Sam Bennett etc. but he has shown enough skill at times that he could succeed in an elevated role. Again, I just think they construct the roster in a bad and always failing way. Insanity. Just doing the same thing over and over again.
