  2. I was just curious what the ticket situation was this year. $33 for the home/season opener. Every away game through November is 2-3x more expensive. That is about as bad as it gets. We have bottom of the barrell attendance these days, and based on prices to start the year it looks like it is about to get a whole lot worse. They better get off to a fast start or the Sabres are primed to have the most contentious fanbase they have ever had.
  3. Didn't get to watch any of the prospect games, unfortunately. Was following along on Twitter a bit though. Disappointed that rosen/Östlund didnt dominate on the score sheet. One goal total between two guys that are likely AHL all stars next year seems pretty lackluster. I heard on the locked on sabres podcast though that Östlund still looked like the most dynamic player out there. But you still have to put up more on the stat sheet against this level of competition. The other standouts I heard about (aside from the already discussed Östlund and mrtka, who i think everyone is excited about now) were novikov and savage.
  4. I think the guy that ran way over into someone else space and took the ball away from people who sat in that area is the one deserving blame here. She probably should have let it go, but she wasn't totally wrong. People making it out like she took a kids birthday ball are wrong, she didn't know that, she just knew some dude had ran over from another section to take something that was bouncing around at her feet. And the social media world gangs up on her.

  6. I think I have an old Simon Pure churchkey....
  7. You gave a very thoughtful and humanistic response. It's obvious that Mair has a serious drinking problem. He should be treated like others who have been involved in similar situations. He will certainly have to contend with the legal system that will direct him to a somewhat coercive course for first time offenders. What will the outcome be after he is directed into a rehabilitating setting? It depends on how seriously he takes the treatment. If he blows it off or just goes through the motions just to get this issue over with, he will then face bigger issues and more severe consequences. For those who blithely and reflexively say that he should be automatically fired, my response is that he is not a disposable human being who isn't capable of redemption. Addiction is a complicated and challenging issue to deal with. It affects not only the individual but the family and relationships around the person. We all know someone either in the family, friends and work circle who struggle to deal with what usually is a life-long tormenting battle. Anyone undergoing what he is currently undergoing needs support, not scorn and harsh judgment. And that doesn't mean that he shouldn't be held accountable for his behavior. I wish him well.
  8. This team is fubar unless several players simply will them to victory. I have no faith in UPL. None in Wilford. A smidgen in Ruff. Deck is stacked against them.
  9. Yeah, or if that combo struggles out of the gate. What a mess this team is.
  10. Novikov should be given a chance to make the Buffalo roster. He's better than Bryson and maybe better than Samuelsson.
  11. On the bright side the Sabres prospects usually do well in this tournament then the main Sabres team sucks in the regular season. Maybe since the prospects 💩 the bed that the main team will make the playoffs this year.😛 I think they need to see what they can get if anything for Rosen.
  12. I saw Sublime at CMAC for the first time in 30 years with Bradley’s son Jakub singing. It was even better than I hoped it could be. It was packed. I saw Jakubs other band play at the rec room 6-7 weeks prior to maybe around 40 people. It was a fun show.
  13. Catching up here now that summer is winding down. I went for the third year in a row. Willy still sounded great and Dylan sounded good too. People don’t realize Dylan doesn’t care what people think or want him to play. He does what he wants, plays what he wants, and plays it how he wants.
  14. Suspended license, fine, impact panel, potential jail time, counseling, etc.. Basically the same as anyone else in this situation. Losing your job for a DWI, even as a felony, is not what typically happens. It does happen because companies often care about their bottom line or projecting their own personal beliefs on others. Im also concerned for the safety of others and children. I didn’t realize that was something people had to spell out in this type of conversation. Maybe we need a poll to see who values safety of children and people? 😉 I know exactly who I am. I’m 100% confident you have no idea the type of person I am. This is a reasonable, honest, and well thought out and considerate take. I only mentioned the “on company time part” because companies can have rules about behavior while representing the company or during work events. That would be a justifiable cause for termination in that case, although it seems this was the first situation he’s had like this and usually they want people to get help before cutting off their ability to get such help. I agree it’s a bit premature to assume he will be fired. People are calling for him to be fired. This is what I was addressing. In general: It’s weird that people expect people to be perfect all the time, and don’t allow them a chance to grow and learn from their mistakes. I’ve never heard of any other legal trouble Mair has gotten into, and from his statement to the police it sounds like he’s struggling with life a bit right now. I hope he gets the help he needs and that he can be an example of how people can turn their life around and bounce back. That is the best possible outcome here and what I hope happens.
  15. Nope. Special teams let them down again. So, these Sabres are Sabres.
  16. Robert Arnold is one of my favorite youtubers. Here’s a couple nuggets worth watching.

  20. Over the, checks his notes, ... , uh, Sabres. Ooooh, look at us, we're cool, we spotted the Sabres a 4-1 lead and came back. Big whoop.
  21. I mean the original report from Roswell was a flying disc. It was later changed to weather balloon.
  22. Is Bedard MVP material? Or destined for the top 10? I don't watch him that much but just does not seem to be heading that way. I was at the prospect challenge this afternoon and was hoping for more from the top forwards. I did think the passing and puck movement was not bad but they just do not seem to be able to capitalize on their chances. It's funny that Peyton Krebs name came up because I was thinking are any of these guys ready to replace him? He is probably the minimum they would have to be to crack the lineup full time without being an injury replacement. I don't see anyone that is clearly better than him at the moment but Östlund might not be that far away. For what it's worth I thought Belliveau had a nice game. The goal he scored was a ripper but it was more than that, he seemed like a decent skater and made some good passes. As far as prospect ratings go in general it seems like the younger they are the hype is still fresh and those are the types that can be overrated. The new shinny thing is always great until proven otherwise.
  23. To the Avs fans it was a great comeback.
  24. Does anybody know wtf the NHL Network is showing the Sabres Avs game from Dec 3 tonight? THAT was THE game where the wheels fell off and the season was lost. What a bizarrely cruel choice of a game.
  25. Thank you, very much appreciated
