  1. Past hour
  2. Patients that know everything... Or family that does.... Come into the room "I know what's happening and I'll tell you how you need to treat him" How about your husband is a very obese diabetic with heart failure, uncontrolled diabetes, and multiple stents who has a raging infection. Oh and last month his cultures showed resistance to the medicine you're pushing me to give. "well, I know what does and doesn't work for him" my guess is maybe there's a life insurance policy in there. Also he needs IV Tylenol every 3 hours or else he gets altered..... Ummmm, no, that will trash his liver but thanks for playing.
  3. To be honest I do not expect someone or their improved performance to come in and magically save the day.. still the 2nd youngest team, still yet to see them gel in a way that is conducive to winning hockey, lots of perimeter guys, soft D and Bad goaltending... that combination is simply not conducive to playoffs and or and even worse playoff hockey ... I feel like we are counting on a couple of really unknown players like Kesselring, Doan and Danforth to come in an change the direction of a culture... not confident that these new young players are going to do that... maybe they have more of an impact than Lafferty, Malenstyn and Kubel but I think we get pretty much same old same old... so I am with you... I don't see a white knight nor a level of experience that changes this course... In fact I see at least an equal likelihood that not only do we not make the playoffs... but that there is a push for exodus from our core star players like Dahlin, Tage, and Tuch... time will tell, new players new hope.. but it feels a bit like an unfounded wish while we are whistling by the graveyard....
  4. And once he leaves you must close his entry point. If you don’t you will have more bats - as in plural.
  5. It does seem to be a talented top 6. Coaching is the biggest limiter, and will almost surely hold back any claims of “one of the better units in the league”. *sigh*
  6. https://thehockeywriters.com/sabres-blue-line-could-quietly-be-one-of-the-nhls-best/ The Sabres’ blue line can be one of the better units in the league; it’s just a matter of health and the new additions clicking with the returning players. There are a lot of “If’s” with this unit, though. “If” they stay healthy, “If” everything pans out, and so on. I expect big things from the defense this season. We’ll see if they meet my expectations, which is that they help the Sabres get into the playoffs for the first time since 2011.
  7. Today
  8. The difference between Golisano and Pegula is that Golisano is smart enough to recognize what he doesn’t know and wise enough to hire people who know what they are doing. And I’m sure that he wouldn’t interfere too much while the hockey people were doing their jobs. That is not to say that he wouldn’t be so aloof that he wouldn’t hold the staff accountable.
  9. I don’t want to deviate from the topic relating to his generosity however how much different would it have been if he continued to be the owner instead of selling it to Terry P?
  10. Yeah, but then you see that his first name is Redmond and the name immediately loses its edge.
  11. 40 years out from retirement and I am feeling ready now. Ok, far less than 40, but it sure does feel like it with a 3 and 1 year old in the house.
  12. Welcome to Putins America, his little Trump puppet.
  13. 4 yrs out from retirement and I am feeling ready now. *sigh*
  14. I'm just so confused by the outrage over converting a likert scale to meaningless grades when it still shows we finished 32nd almost universally.
  15. Remove kicker. Change flex to superflex.
  16. Are you kidding me? Surely a 10 goal scorer in the top 6 will propel this team to the playoffs!
  17. Tuch has an uphill battle to make the team while Thompson has a reasonable chance. 4 forwards have already been selected - Eichel, Matthews and the Tkachuk brothers. I think there are another 4 locks for the roster in Jack Hughes, Conner, Robertson and Boldy. That leaves 5 slots. Guys like Keller, Guentzel, Thompson, Caufield, Debrincat, Cooley, Larkin, Tuch and Knies competing for those slots. I think Guentzel and Thomspon lead for slots 9 & 10.
  18. Red Savage signed for Rochester. I remember his draft year I thought what a great hockey name. Sounds like a guy who would have played with Gordie Howe or someone back then. He hasn't lived up to that name, but fun to have him around all the same. https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/detroit-red-wings/latest-news/yzerman-red-wings-parts-ways-with-in-state-standout-signs-with-sabres-affiliate
  19. He admitted he didn't know a hockey puck from a meatball. He never coached toddlers in O-leen.
  20. Dudes good. but this a non Sabres complaint thread. mine would be.. tires. 15k and they are done. I’m not (most times) crazy
  21. To me it sounds like Ducks want the same for McTavish as we got back for JJ.
  22. I'm not sure Olofsson is going to fit in the Avalanche's or McKinnon's worldview any better than Mittelstadt did. But I do see lots of opportunities for him to play, and with top 6 time with just a single injury. Makar alone could pick up at least five 5-on-5 primary assists to VO while VO just camps on the right dot. VO should get 18+ goals barring a top-6 acquisition early in the season to push him further down the lineup.
  23. Would you pull it together, please? People are demanding Fs, not Cs.
  24. It isn’t so much the who as it is the what, but Putin and the Russian army and their entire propaganda campaign for starters. That’s our flag for our military to fly and it has no business being flown by another military; especially by a dictator-led, corrupt, adversarial country like Russia.
  25. Not takin' the bait. 😉 Will suffice it to say, am getting tired of cramming 10 gallons of stuff in a 5 gallon bucket and then coming back again to do it all over again. Lather - rinse - repeat.
  26. I propose that I get the first 5 draft picks because I am consistently terrible 😘
  27. Ok I’ll tie this into the Benson thread. I don’t understand how anyone who complains about the last 14 years wants a 5’9” twenty year old in the top six.
