  1. Past hour
  2. Definitely concerned about the Cruch taking liberties with our heavy skill laden lineup. Disappointed in Brett Murray this series. He has not been throwing the body around, not that it was expected but when your team is a high skill little braun lineup, as a large man you need to step up. Shameful to be honest.
  3. It's something long-standing teams PR staffs and sportswriters do to show how much history their franchise has. The 38th coach in our storied and amazing history! Sometimes it can backfire (like if it's also happens to be the 15th coach since 2000).
  4. They haven't tried spending to the cap,... or digging another well.
  5. Well, this would at least explain Terry’s disdain for the playoffs. In addition, there’s probably some truth in a Cup not increasing the value of a franchise. This is probably true for most large markets. For example, I don’t think the value of the Leafs would increase if they win another championship.
  6. I generally agree with you, and I suppose if there was a way to keep Byram and still add a top 4 RD defensive stalwart to balance out the puck movers, that would be fine. Seems to me it's going to be tough to keep both Byram and Power, and make that happen.
  7. Is the 38th head coach thing significant, or do writers just put it that way cuz they are trying to appear like they know more stuff than us.
  8. The real question now is how the ticket revenue is split. I’ll have to do some digging. I’m pretty sure in the finals most of it goes to the league.
  9. Yes, we should judge every player solely by their most difficult 7-game stretch. And the Buffalo Sabres need to get rid of every player who is incapable of replacing Rasmus Dahlin and add a bunch who are. It’s really that simple.
  10. Correct, but some of course make money with endorsements as their profile rises from playoffs. The owners make a boatload of cash though. Playoff revenue plus massive amounts of merchandise and then usually increased season ticket sales for the next year. Just getting in the playoffs makes teams a lot of money.
  11. I can’t say I agree with such a strong take, but I can concede that if there isn’t an announcement early July about an extension and Kev still has a GM title and an office at One Seymour Plaza, it’s an indictment on the organization. Alex then gets a sudden case of planter fasciitis and then goes to LTIR to not risk injury before his July 1st 2026 signing with another team. @Thorny If you had your druthers, you would not offer anything and move on from Alex?
  12. Easily. Young teams often take 2 steps forward and 1 back and luck factors in as well (injuries, scheduling etc.) but yes, I'd say they have a different approach to Buffalo. Buffalo can't seem to learn from Buffalo's mistakes, that's the real problem.
  13. Why would Adams sign Sullivan when Adams has convinced himself he has a better version in Appert.😳
  14. Well of course the progress is determined by the "stars" or I guess you'd say here future or potential stars, but don't underestimate guys like Gallagher. There's a competitiveness angle that they have in spades. Team works harder overall. Suzuki is a leadership personality as well agreed. I see more balance and character on that team than the Sabres and not really more talent. They play more like a team and as has been the case for a long time the Sabres are a group of individuals. It's a culture perpetuated by management as you see all the end of season crap is about individual accomplishments. The idea that individual accomplishments mean nothing if the team fails is alien to the Sabres.
  15. They don’t get paid during the playoffs
  16. Today
  17. I'd love to be able to find out. I also thought that some of the players actually take a pay cut during playoffs, as well, because their salaries are based on the 82 game season.
  18. Should have bet on it.
  19. There are a lot of costs associated with playing in the finals that aren’t offset by ticket or local tv revenue because the league pretty much takes over most of the revenue. Things like staff perks, travel, rings, etc. My opinion stems from a conversation I had fifteen years ago so it might not be the same today which is why I phrased it the way I did originally. However, the person who told me this was in a position to know. I’m pretty sure there was an article in the Buffalo News regarding this when the team last played in the finals.
  20. Just spent the last 2 days building 3 raised garden beds with 8ft 4x4 fence post. Laid chicken wire to the bottom for critter control and tilled up and mulched it all. Need to collect compost from the woods and then find some good topsoil to haul home. But holy hell, this crap is a ton of work. I've never really gardened or gotten into this stuff, but the front of the house had a 35ftx10 foot stretch of old overgrown garden that needed some serious tlc. Going to have an herb garden in one, veggies/fruit in another and flowers in the middle one. Hoping they all turn out as planned.
  21. no, that’s not what I mean. However, whether winning a Cup helps at all is debatable.
  22. We can have differing views on his talent level. Regardless which one of us is right in our assessment in him , from a cap standpoint it will be extremely challenging to fit his upgraded contract within the cap, especially when near future contracts will need to be addressed soon.
  23. Good franchise does good thing. Meanwhile in buffalo
  24. When Dahlin was hurt he was used as the top guy and sucked so bad he made Risto look like Denis Potvin.
  25. The "good" news is you don't have to worry about Adams giving Tuch $9 million per because he's counting down the days until he escapes this dumpster fire franchise and wouldn't stay here for any amount.
