  1. Past hour
  2. Hmmm. Jersey change coming? I still like the old blue and gold
  3. Possibly, but it would depend on the teams involved right? idk, it's a good thing if they fix the playoffs. I've always thought it was an easy fix. Just make the roster you dress for the game cap compliant. So if you are an over cap Vegas type team you can dress less players if that's how you want to roll. But whatever the final version of this is it's better than it was. None of it affects the Sabres though. Spending to the cap or going over is not going to happen under Pegula.
  4. Today
  5. It’s a free and for fun league, so I’m not loudly complaining about this. But changing from standard scoring to half PPR a day before the draft is a choice. Ya done messed up my self-prepared cheat sheets.
  6. It’s set for 5 bench spots.
  7. The 23 or 28th would work for me, of course assuming no Buffalo Lake Erie effect snow storms.😉

  9. 23rd works best here.
  10. You’re not asking me, but I can think of 2 candidates: the most recent was the Krueger bubble fiasco when they lost 18 in a row and a team with Eichel, Reinhart, Hall, Skinner, Dahlin, Montour literally could not score and looked like they may never score again. We started something like 6/26/5 The tank had clearly and unequivocally failed and we were no closer to the playoffs than we were when we were losing on purpose. Every player clearly wanted out as fast as possible and Krueger had nothing but empty platitudes. Utterly painful to watch. The second was the 1986/87 team. I was a teenager who had been drinking the Bowman koolaid for years; the 80 points the previous year was a mirage; there was no way Scotty and all his high picks wasn’t going to bounce back. We went 1/7/2 to start the year, Perreault couldn’t take it and retired and a roster loaded with has-beens like Clark Gillies and Wilf Paiement went on to finish dead last. I was crushed. It was a real wake up call and the end of innocence for my fandom. The Sabres had never been bad in my experience and I don’t know if I ever considered the possibility that they could be.
  11. I remember that visceral feeling when I was little too. Boston, playoffs, checking: 1983, almost sure. I remember thinking there were a bunch on people on the ice, and there they are. But that's unlikely as low as now.
  12. He was a gunner for us in his limited appearances last season so it makes sense that he will be tasked with special teams again.
  13. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/09/03/jeffrey-epstein-victims-house-vote-live/85952818007/ Mike Johnson is nothing more than a sycophantic, lackey snake.
  14. If this isn’t the low point of your fandom, then when was it?
  15. These are the first three games Taro and I are considering. Nov 23 - Carolina 1pm Nov 28 - New Jersey 4pm Dec 20 - Islanders 5pm Thoughts?
  16. Not trying to aggravate anyone but this isn't a low point for me. Some player changes have been made and it's before the new season. I'm typically interested in seeing how the new guys look and have missed hockey. That losing skid last year was a terrible point, but I'm certainly up from that. I understand the sentiment of the post(s) and that it's in totality most are feeling this way. I think hope is one of the worst things a fan can be robbed of. I
  17. Supposedly Shavers was a ST demon in college. And the Samuel cap consequences are IIRC pretty much that they get no savings at all by cutting him but they don't take much of an additional hit for doing so. And with Samuel seemingly never fully healthy, could see him being the odd man out.
  18. “The Trump admin says.” Never have words had less meaning.
  19. Interesting. With Samuel, I've heard over and over that the cap consequences would be prohibitive. I could see Moore being odd man out. Also, is Shavers playing on teams? That changes everything if so.
  20. If the plan is to eventually get Gabe back on the 53, I think there’s a better chance that either Samuel or Moore would be let go before Shavers at this point.
  21. I always forget about this new rule. So confusing. (And it's sometimes not a hard and fast 3 times or something? Like there are different kinds of elevations?) If he doesn't get put on the Bills 53, I presume that his list of acceptable teams would greatly expand. He visited with the Steelers before signing with the Bills.
  22. Just saw this, I am in the same position here as Derrico. I will make the drive if I can. Thank you for the offer again, Tom Webster
  23. He can be elevated from the PS something like 3 times before he'd have to be elevated to the 53 to play again. There is no need to be risking losing Shavers to another team in need of WRs anytime soon. Nobody, at least nobody Big Play Gabe would be interested in playing for as he's a vet and can decide where to play, was interested in him. Not worried about him getting poached from the PS.
  24. Signed to the p squad because he's still rehabbing his knee. I would imagine that he fully expects to be on the active roster once he's good to go. My guess is that Shavers (unless he's a special teamer?) would need to be waived (and then likely re-signed to the p squad). It is good depth to have. I think he'll be on the 53 sooner than later, provided he can get healthy and back in football shape. Meniscus. From latter part of 2024.
  25. This article seems to spell out most of the impending changes. I am pretty happy to see them move forward. https://www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/changes_to_nhls_ltir_to_take_effect_in_2025_26_other_cba_changes_moved_up/s1_14825_42676965
  26. I missed commenting in this thread somehow. I must say I agree with several opinions here on what is wrong and some of the proposed changes seem logical. Bottom line is the power play production does not match the talent and that is a problem. No one says "only I can fix it". The mantra is more like "when will Terry hire a qualified NHL hockey guy to fix this". I will add that I think I could do no worse than Adams. If you thought the songs sucked you would not be a fan of the band, so no, I cannot imagine that. That generation is pretty much gone, and the one that followed it has run out of patience too.
