Probably not.   
I would love to see anyone associated with the Eichel fiasco sent packing - most importantly the owner 

The Sabres would have 3 of the top 25 players in the NHL on their roster (using TSNs top 100).  I find it difficult to believe the streak would still be intact with those 3 hitting their prime

It's pretty clear Ullmark wanted to leave and Eichel was irrelevant to that. I think Reinhart would have stayed.

It wouldn’t matter if the Sabres got the next 5 first OA picks. When an organization is this dysfunctional the players never develop to their ability and never succeed. Until Pegula backs off and hire legit hockey people to run and build this team no draft pick will make a difference.

Some believe that Eichel wanted out before the injury, and not long after he re-signed the extension.  Adam’s went on the spying road trip and did not like what he saw from the core.  
 

The Sabres tanking to the bare studs, acquiring Reinhart and Eichel, and still blowing the rebuild is a case study on sports management incompetence.

He wanted out because Adams wanted to rebuild. He detailed this in the Friedman interview. If the team wasn’t set on a long form EEE rebuild, do the players stay? Yes. The injury disagreement was merely a symptom of the fact Eichel had already asked out due to the looming rebuild

No experienced GM would have looked at that roster and said "we need a rebuild."   

Adams, a pencil-pusher with no front office or scounting experience sold Terry on an unnecessary rebuild that will probably set the franchise back a decade. 

A smart, experienced GM, instead, would have fixed the coaching situation and bolstered the secondary scoring and defensive issues with affordable vets. 

Terry's unwillingness to hire a experienced  GM has sent us all into hockey hell.

No.  Want them to win.  Starting tomorrow night.

If things have gone caca, then at the Olympic break, clean house and get what you can for guys that don't fit into the future.  Don't tear it down to the studs.  Just get a little bit of cap space back and some additional draft capital and hit the ground running next year.  But, don't do anything now to spur on them going furhter caca than they already have.

I think McKenna has the most offensive skill in the draft. I think Stenberg might end up the better pro, keep in mind though, a bunch of Stenbergs goals are from the pp.

I see the engagement questions but also see the skill level when McKenna has the puck. This is difficult for me because since the Jarvis draft, I've been very keen to find guys with high intensity motors. Stenberg has a better motor but less creation. Idk how to evaluate them yet.

I heard a Brad Marchand clip the other day where he said Celebrini is "an absolute dog. He competes every shift. You can see he wants it" etc etc.   It's a pity nobody says that about Owen Power.

Demidov and Lindstrom were in the mix but he was always the top pick. I don't remember 100% but there wasn't much to question there. He also didn't jump to the ncaa in their draft year.

So it seems McKenna isn’t quite on the same level. Do you have him closer to a Power/RNH type first overall or a Celebrini/Bedard type?

Of course. You know my build would be very different to Terry's. McKenna is still the obvious top pick but he has struggled a little this year. Size might be a factor. More Hughes vibes than Celebrini. Maybe Bedard. I think it might take him a few years to make a real impact. 

Belchetz is probably going to go around 3 or 4. Top 5 anyway but that's where we might end up as Calgary looks pretty woeful. Lottery of course could change all that.
