mjd1001 Posted September 26 Report Posted September 26 Watching the replay of the Detroit PP goal and again with the Sabres PK, they get in trouble when they start chasing and leave their spots. Power went to the board when The Sabres had 2 guys on the board already. Once Detroit got hold of the puck, their guy had an option to move the puck himself or have TWO other guys to pass it two with only one Sabres defender covering 80% of the ice. I KNOW they want to chase the puck, but time and time again, their PK works best when they let the other team control the puck but stay in their assigned spots.  Quote
Taro T Posted September 26 Report Posted September 26 And Dunne and some other Wing are the only 2 going to the box. Both for roughing. (And Chiarot is the Wing going to the box.) Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted September 26 Report Posted September 26 That was clearly struck above the cross bar but I doubt they'll reverse it. 1 Quote

Really believe they're trying to emulate Carolina's pressure PK, but Carolina doesn't pressure over the entire zone. They pressure when the opponent has limited options and they can then outnumber the puck carrier AND take away the limited options. And they get the goaltending that can cover for them when they oops it and let the puck get through to the puck carrier's teammates. The Sabres pressure when the other team has multiple options and they don't manage to take them all away typically. Just have this sneaking suspicion that if you ever get to talk to Wilford he'll proudly show you his new watch - it's a Rolodex. 😉 1 Quote

SABRES 0311 Posted September 26 Report Posted September 26 (edited) I am really starting to like Mrtka. He’s an aggressive DMan that doesn’t take any 💩.  Unlike a certain other DMan. 8 minutes ago, ... said: Power is garbage. Did OP turn that puck over on the half wall which ended up in our net after he got outmuscled? Edited September 26 by SABRES 0311 3 1 Quote

Taro T Posted September 26 Report Posted September 26 And Detroit will go back on the PP again. Doan with the roughing call. Georgiev still between the pipes. Quote
