#9 - Do the Sabres make it or move it?

This is the follow-up to what would you want to do with #9 overall. Now, it's the easy poll. Knowing what you know, pre-pressers in the fold, with only days to go, will Adams make the pick at 9 or send it on the go?

If I was in Vegas, the easy bet is they make a pick at 9. Trading is hard....and apparently Adams makes it even harder

Does it really matter anymore?  What's the prospect pool look like in 2026?  With no improvements to this roster, I'd put money on us picking top 5 again.  Rinse repeat....

Maybe another trade down year (like 2024).  They only have a certain number of players worth drafting at 9 and they won’t be there.     GMKA won’t find a trade partner to get a good NHL’er for #9, so instead he’ll settle for more picks.  Hoping I’m wrong.

I am going to guess that he trades 9 and gets a late first rounder plus a RHD who is a 5/6 Dman but KA thinks could be Power’s sidekick.

I think he gets offers and rejects them because he will overvalue the pick because they are always thinking future over present. Future never gets here as we always lose pieces along the way. So they will pick and my guess (not my choice) is it'll be Mrtka. 

Then they will take this kid (who is likely a good 3 years away from being NHL ready) and insert him into the starting line up beside Power so they can "grow together". Hoo-ha!

I get the feeling that this is going to be a typical same o same o for the Sabres. Draft best player available and bring in a lower lever FA and cross your fingers it is going to work. No major changes and typical Shampoo bottle Sabres. Wash, rinse, repeat

The Sabres will make the pick, we'll all be unimpressed, except for that one poster, and then we'll hear how they had offers but none of them were "right".

He already got a 5th/6th RHD when he got Jacob Bernard-Docker in the Cozens trade.

Exactly, that’s his wheelhouse, 5/6 D or bottom 6 players.

I voted for make the pick but honestly... I don't care. 

The team has worn me down... More so the fact we are seeing so many moves in the off-season and none by the sabres. So far... That has worn me down.

I just need something that excites me.  The pick needs to be something that gives me a “concept of” type of player to drool over for a couple of years, or the pick needs to be traded for someone that gives me hope for ‘25-‘26.

I actually like JBD. He played well on the backend. Steady defensively responsible. Cannot ask for anything more from him as a player

He looked good in his limited time here, yet think asking him to be anything more than a 5th or 6th defender now is asking too much.
