DarthEbriate Posted June 24 Report Posted June 24 This is the follow-up to what would you want to do with #9 overall. Now, it's the easy poll. Knowing what you know, pre-pressers in the fold, with only days to go, will Adams make the pick at 9 or send it on the go? Quote
oddoublee Posted June 24 Report Posted June 24 If I was in Vegas, the easy bet is they make a pick at 9. Trading is hard....and apparently Adams makes it even harder 1 Quote
The Jokeman Posted June 24 Report Posted June 24 I'm hoping it we get a NHL player from it maybe pair with Byram too. Quote
elijah Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 Would love them to trade it ++ for a top 4 defensemen or a top 6 forward That being said I think everyone knows they’re standing pat and making the pick 1 Quote
John Tucker Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 Does it really matter anymore? What's the prospect pool look like in 2026? With no improvements to this roster, I'd put money on us picking top 5 again. Rinse repeat.... Quote
Carmel Corn Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 Maybe another trade down year (like 2024). They only have a certain number of players worth drafting at 9 and they won’t be there. GMKA won’t find a trade partner to get a good NHL’er for #9, so instead he’ll settle for more picks. Hoping I’m wrong. Quote
French Collection Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 I am going to guess that he trades 9 and gets a late first rounder plus a RHD who is a 5/6 Dman but KA thinks could be Power’s sidekick. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 I think he gets offers and rejects them because he will overvalue the pick because they are always thinking future over present. Future never gets here as we always lose pieces along the way. So they will pick and my guess (not my choice) is it'll be Mrtka. Then they will take this kid (who is likely a good 3 years away from being NHL ready) and insert him into the starting line up beside Power so they can "grow together". Hoo-ha! 1 1 Quote
WhenWillItEnd66 Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 I get the feeling that this is going to be a typical same o same o for the Sabres. Draft best player available and bring in a lower lever FA and cross your fingers it is going to work. No major changes and typical Shampoo bottle Sabres. Wash, rinse, repeat Quote
LTS Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 The Sabres will make the pick, we'll all be unimpressed, except for that one poster, and then we'll hear how they had offers but none of them were "right". The worst AI on the planet could write this story. 1 1 Quote

He already got a 5th/6th RHD when he got Jacob Bernard-Docker in the Cozens trade. Quote

mjd1001 Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 (edited) I voted for make the pick but honestly... I don't care. The team has worn me down... More so the fact we are seeing so many moves in the off-season and none by the sabres. So far... That has worn me down. Edited June 25 by mjd1001 1 Quote
WhenWillItEnd66 Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 He is 100% making this pick. No imagination to make this team better and his trading skills are far from desirable. Quote
HumanSlinky39 Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 Adams loves his prospects. He's making the pick. Quote
Weave Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 I just need something that excites me. The pick needs to be something that gives me a “concept of” type of player to drool over for a couple of years, or the pick needs to be traded for someone that gives me hope for ‘25-‘26. Cheeses, Im not even asking for much at this point. Quote

He played well on the backend. Steady defensively responsible. Cannot ask for anything more from him as a player 2 Quote
Eleven Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 (edited) He'll use it to draft the next Matthew Savoie. Edited June 25 by Eleven 1 Quote

LGR4GM Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 Can't even name a top 20 player that profiles like Savoie in this draft. 1 Quote
Rasmus_ Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 I misread it, as to what "I" would do with it. Adams is making the pick, because he's the generic simpleton. Quote
