The bold is your opinion.

My opinion is Terry is bringing back Kevyn because he’s been in lockstep with every move. Firing him would be an acknowledgement that Terry himself was wrong and he’s not ready to admit that.

When’s the last time you’ve witnessed an incompetent person acknowledging his/ her own incompetence? Usually, the accusing finger is pointing outwards and not inwards.

I would not be surprised to here that KA is the first GM Terry hired that didn’t object to “Terry’s way”.

It's a matter of trust. Terry took a lot of advice from a lot of people after he bought the club, and I suspect he feels betrayed. These outsiders led him astray. Snakes in the grass. Deceivers.

Kevyn has been with him a long time, and seems to be the only person he thinks isn't playing games with him. He's never going to fire the guy, not in any way that fans want. They may "reorganize the front office", but it'll always be in a way that Kevyn is able to save face.

As long as Terry owns this team, KA is going to be around.

100%.  But Adams doesn't HAVE to ALWAYS be associated with running the team.  He could (dear Lord, PLEASE let this happen) get moved to a position running some other piece of Pegula's empire.  Kevyn gets a promotion and we get a reprieve.  (At least until we find it is was so that Jerry Forton gets to take over. 😢 )

So, I haven't looked into the numbers that much, and maybe someone brought this up...but the Rangers were supposedly interested in Peterka, right?

Is trading Kreider the start of moves to fee up money to put a decent sized/bigger offer sheet for Peterka?

They'd have to pay him quite over the top

Unlikely. It basically gives them space to sign their two big RFAs Cuylle and Miller.

Besides, the don't have their 2nd rounder next year, which they would need for a sheet between $7-11M AAV

Interesting! Id be interested in moving him if we got Adam Klapka and Kevin Bahl back in the trade

Bahl is 24 6'6 230lbs right shot defensman who is an RFA, perfect partner for Owen Power, he was the main piece in the Jacob Markstrom deal from New Jersey so Lindy would know him

Klapka is 24 6'8 235 lbs 4th line forward that hits everything that moves, he was one of Calgary's best players down the stretch, they just resigned him at 2 years 1.25 per year

This is the kind of deal I would take for Peterka, it sends him out west and it solves so many holes for us. This deal would also bring back minimal cap so we could then go free agent hunting if we wanted to to get a vet to take Peterkas spot. The Byram deal would also open up cap that could be used elsewhere to add vets and salary to really help this team improve!

Ever since the Eichel stuff, I've found the Rangers to be annoying. I also think Drury is a gm you can outmatch.

Ya if they want Peterka they can have him for Cuylle and Schnieder, id even add to that if they wanted

They will never reach Adams level of incompetence, but Drury and Verbeek are not good GMs

If they honestly OS the 4 1sts level I’d let him go and be happy for Peterka. He’s a great player but he’s certainly nowhere near 11.7mil per.

i also believe 8x9mil would put him at that level too. I’d be saddened but accept 4 1sts because 8x9mil isn’t exactly a number we can afford next season.

Did they change the whole 5 year thing? Where 6/7 year deals would have their total divided by 5 for compensation levels.

I think the Sabres consistently have too many players that don't have an extra gear. We see flashes of it from time to time, but mostly they're just overloaded with okay players who thrive when surrounded by players who do have that extra gear.

You were suggesting to trade Tage and called him garbage. Apologies if you were being funny or sarcastic, but Tage is the first guy to have two 40+ goal seasons for this franchise in almost 20 years. Tage was also third in the league in goal scoring.

To me, that’s the extra gear and you wanted it traded.

So you’re suggesting to trade a bunch of  “non extra gear” guys for the “extra gear” guys? Seems likely.

Apparently the Rangers want to OS Peterka but they don’t have anywhere near a decent contract they can offer.

5x7mil is like their max until reaching about 7x9mil. 7x9mil would mean the 12th pick goes to Pittsburgh and then 26, 27, 28, 29 1sts would be our compensation. At 5x7mil we can easily match and skip to the bank.

Kevin Bahl is a LHD

Are you suggesting that KA is a standard setter that will be difficult to match?

You’re probably awesome as a person, but your trade offers are terrible.  lol.
The Bahl Klapka one is worse though.  lol

If JJ Peterka signs an offer sheet with NY, the AAV would make the  compensation be a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd. IF the Sabres were able to land another top forward like a Jason Robertson, or even a Jordan Kyrou (who is rumored to be available), I would gladly let JJ walk for that compensation.

I think the Rangers would turn down the JJ trade Pono proposed.

I'm not interested in stats as justification for chaining ourselves to players who don't get it done when it counts. We've been playing that game for like 20 years on this site.

How many massive losing streaks have Tage Thompson's Sabres experienced?

What's Tage bringing to this team when he's getting shoved off the puck in the corners despite being 6 foot 6?

Guess the Sabres shouldn't have traded Pierre Turgeon either.

You mean how Rangers fans wouldn’t give up Kakko or Laff for Eichel. Yeah I’m done with that too.
