I dislike almost every single Sabre not name Tage or Alex. I hate all of them. 1 Quote

Does anybody remember the 2021 draft when the Sabres passed up Matthew Knies 6'3" 227 lbs. (who scored 29 goals for Toronto this year) and drafted Aleksandr Kisakov 5'10" 150 lbs. (who barely plays for the Amerks)? My point is that it doesn't matter where the Sabres pick, they will screw it up anyway. Kevyn Adams and Jerry Forton will probably still say that they like the pick! Maybe they can double down and pick another weak, undersized player? It took 5 years for these bozos to build the softest team in the league. 2 Quote

We've gotten worse every year for 3 straight years under his uninspired, frail, weak, and otherwise poor leadership. You walked into that one. 2 minutes ago, PotentPowerPlay21 said: Does anybody remember the 2021 draft when the Sabres passed up Matthew Knies 6'3" 227 lbs. Just b/c you choose to ignore them does not mean they don’t exist. Quote

FrenchConnection44 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago WTH was that BS lottery? Nobody knew exactly what those numbers meant at the start and what the numbers we needed to get, until the fourth draw. And the rest of the way it made no sense either. It was just such a bizarro system. That had to be the most absurd lottery draw system I’ve ever seen. Come on. Of course we get screwed. Bettman should be sent to Gnome, Alaska to dig dirt. After he cuts through the ice. Quote

Scottysabres Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Don’t care where we fell on the draft board for 1st rd. Trade the pick to better the team if a deal is there. Trade a prospect or 2 to better the team if a deal is there. Fir the love of the hockey gods, just better the team for next season!!!!! 1 Quote

Still believe it could've been made better if they'd've used the jumbotron somewhere (MSG, or whatever they're calling the new MLG in TO would be obvious choices (had they held this on a night the Loafs weren't hosting a game at least)) and had 1000 small team logos and a "draw again" on the last combo on a big board with each one lit up (and the jumbotrons are big enough they should've been able to at least have small visible logos for all 1,001 permutations) and then as a ball is drawn then all the no longer possible combos go black. (Maybe do it in a cascade effect so as to build the drama a bit?) After the 4th ball is drawn 1 logo remains lit and they "grow" it until it takes up the full screen. Redo for the 2nd draft, but now the 1st lottery winning team's logos are replaces with "draw again" as well. WAAAAY better than what they actually did. 1 Quote
Flashsabre Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I didn’t watch it. Did they show Adams? Good on the Sabres dropping 2 spots. They don’t deserve any reward for how horribly they have run the franchise. Edited 2 hours ago by Flashsabre 1 Quote

And it's not just Buffalo falling back two spots. Boston, Philly, Nashville and Seattle all fell back two spots. Quote

But it would've been more dramatic seeing a huge chunk of the logos going black on the 1st draw and then fewer going away each time (though a greater percentage of the remaining #'s going away). They could've had a separate screen (or maybe the corners of a board like the Sabres one) keeping the teams still alive lit up (for those too lazy to look through the big matrix to see if their favorite team was still alive) too. They once again half-arsed what could've been sort of fun. And Buccigross being forced to feign excitement only raised the cringe factor. 5 minutes ago, Flashsabre said: I didn’t watch it. The Sabres were one of 4 or 5 teams that still had a chance on the 1st lottery's 4th draw and they had each of those GMs shown in a Zoom meeting sort of layout. (Tuned in late; don't know if they showed all 16 GMs to start the thing.) Quote

Not by himself, but Adams was "on screen" for pretty much the entirely of the 4th ball's draw along with the others that still had a chance to win. Quote
HumanSlinky39 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I honestly don't care who/what they pick. I'm tired of draft picks. Start trading some of them for players that can help NOW. 1 1 Quote

No. Did I want to tune in and see the combos on ESPN ahead of time? Yes. They didn’t show that. I’m not laying around on my butt in my parents basement spending time looking up that. I work for a living, sometimes 60+ hours, and I have innumerable responsibilities with kids and grandkids. I want to tune in, see exactly what is going on with my team, explained clearly, and know what the numbers mean each time they’re drawn. they didn’t explain any of that. Until the fourth ball was drawn, and then, we have lower odds in the penguins! The NBA does the lottery without any problem. That was classic NHL nonsense. Quote
