Benson is an 18 year old Rookie who plays with energy and actually forechecks. Many nights he's been one of our most impactful players.

Maybe a cost savings idea for the Sabres....they only need to have the Zamboni clean the outer laps of the Sabres offensive zones....no need to clean the inner sections as Buffalo never skates there.

And I believe it is because they are so young as a group. They need a tough voice that won't tolerate laziness and sloppiness. Donnie may just be too nice of a guy.

VO only does things that show up on the score sheet, while Benson does all the things that don’t. He’s just a much more valuable player.
