There is a part of me afraid that the downfall of KA is going to be his risk aversion/unwillingness to make significant moves. If we fail to reach the playoff this coming season his vibes are going to go to ***** real bad.

Of we fail to make the playoffs, he's fired....at least, if I'm Terry. Then we can hire Taro as GM, Eleven AND LG as Asst. gm's, With LG's sole job is scouting&draft, Eleven, you get Team Branding, don't worry, the players will adjust after the burn cream is applied. And Ink as head of Entertainment, it's a natural fit.

PA, I saved the best for you, Special Hockey Advisor to Terry Pegula. You'll be expected to be attached to him at the hip.

The approach that the GM has taken has been consistent in adhering to his strategy of mostly building from within. In three years, he has taken a mocked franchise noted for its systemic incompetence and turned it around. The Sabres are now considered one of the emerging teams in the league. In this case being steadfast in adhering to his rebuilding strategy has been a success. KA is a prudent and judicious manager. He has steered this woebegone franchise in the right direction.

The notion that he has been unwilling to make significant moves belies what he has actually done. He dealt the old core and got back a good return on players who  were going to be UFA's in a year. The Jack trade helped Vegas win the Cup and also accelerated our rebuild. He had young players on the roster who successfully ended up playing higher roles. Those were significant moves that transformed this flailing team.

He was forced to make those moves and had no choice in the matter.

However you want to characterize those moves, collectively those moves were significantly positive. The GM has made a large number of personnel decisions. For the most part, they have worked out. So what's there to complain about?

The Jets made out like bandits in that trade. PLD will be miserable in 2 years and rumours will fly that he wants out.

If you’d have told Jets fans this is all they’d have left from Laine, they wouldn’t be happy though

It’s really hard to argue with the overall success of KA and the future looks bright. However, it’s incumbent on him to take the next step.  I understand that New Jersey is a year ahead but they appear to be increasing that lead. Also, Adams and Granato went to great lengths to point out how the more established teams sold their future for short term gains. He has to take advantage of that now and I think he will but until he does, he’s still a theory.

This had to be part of a side deal.  Penguins trade Teddy Blueger to Vegas for the 3rd rd pick, then they trade the pick back to Vegas for Reilly Smith.

Penguins definitely win trade...basically trading Blueger for Reilly Smith

Cap space for Vegas. Just signed Eichel’s winger Barbashev to 5x5

What happened to him?

He should be scoring 40 a year easy with that shot?

And the hair? He's already bald at 25. How?

His hair has been an alarming issue for a while

Mostly just health, he’s still the best player in all the Dubois wheeling and dealing by far. He’s got 108 points in his last 111 games with Columbus over the course of the previous 2 seasons, an 80 point pace. Just needs to stay on the ice

He's got the points. The goals leave something to be desired.

Relative to his ceiling, sure. His pace is still 35 goals per 82 the last 2 seasons, though. For him that’s certainly “down” but a lot of that is system, too

Still only 25
