Okay, hear me out on this: trade for Lundqvist. He's gotta retire soon anyway, right? Who better to mentor Ullmark for a few years.

3 more years left at $8.5M per. I don't know if we could afford him, but at least he could probably clean up that locker room.

 

Personally, I'd rather pay Thornton a big 1 year deal to come over here and show these asshats how to win

One of Holty or Grubauer should be available. I doubt we get either though, especially as Grubauer appears to be the #1 in Washington and likely stays

Holtby is only 28 and signed for 2 more years at 6.1. Washington isn’t keeping both. I’d take Holtby fir he same offer.

What about Lehner for Mrazek straight up? Both are 26, both have had off years, both have played good hockey in the past, both are arbitration eligible RFAs.

Lehner has no value. No one will qualify him. They'll sign him as a UFA and not a moment sooner.

If by "they" you mean a KHL team, then I agree.

I believe Lehner is in the SHL next year. He didn’t even travel to Florida with the team.

 

Ullmark and Raantta sounds about right.

I like the idea but I think it's premature.  Some goalies are going to be cut.  Notably, as wildcard mentioned, Washington isn't going to keep both.

 

What about Lehner for Mrazek straight up? Both are 26, both have had off years, both have played good hockey in the past, both are arbitration eligible RFAs.

 

Another idea I don't hate.  You're on a roll this week.

I think Johnson and ullmark may be a surprisingly good pair. They seemed to mesh well and have good rapport in the food episode of Beyond Blue and Gold. Maybe a case of the sum being much better than the parts?

 

I voted both like and dislike for d4rk though ????
