So in other words people need to stop being people? Good luck with that.

I don't think it should be as dismissed as that phrase. This era of entitlement hasn't always been so severe. It should really be no surprise that there trend continues to grow where everyone believes the world is suppose to confirm to them.  Despite Burger King's marketing ads, you can't even always get it your way at BK.  There are limits.

The growing trend of people being disconnected from reality is disturbing. The ease with which people just harass others because of their own failures is ridiculous. But, everyone wants company when they are at the bottom and it's easier to tear down others than build yourself up.

The problem is that we allow it and lord knows given the connected world status it's easy enough to find a group that supports the behavior to allow even greater justification.

Sport gamblers that lose money on bets are harassing profession athletes to get their money back. Having known a gambler like this who demanded money from me I am not surprised.

https://www.gamblingnews.com/news/brady-tkachuk-says-harassment-over-gambling-must-stop/

Tkachuk has joined a growing choir of voices that have called for the end of abuse against professional athletes, often fueled by losing wagers. ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski interviewed Tkachuk and spoke about his experience with such online abusers.

Tkachuk did not hold the bag. He said people were constantly sniping at him for certain plays that didn’t come up with the bookie, accusing him of bearing responsibility, or even demanding refunds.

He even had to change his Venmo account as online harassment continued on the platform.

Tkachuk also said that he was surprised to find out that people would ask him for money because their bets didn’t come through, and confirmed that he would never pay back a gambler. He found the whole thing “funny,” that a fan or someone who bets on the sport would hold players to account for not making a certain play because said person had money riding on the fact.

Anyone smarter than a 5 year old could have see the second-order consequences of legalizing sports betting.

Why would anyone who is famous have a social media account open to the public? Gambling or not that seems like an invitation for social parasites to attack.

Yesterday during a bath, my 3 year old put a wash cloth over his face, said “waterboard coming up!”, and then poured a cup of water over his face. I knew I was onto something when I originally wanted to name him Jack Bauer Shrader.

Why does your 3 year old even know what that is?

You letting him hang out on YouTube or something? 🙂

He pours water over his face like that every single day. So I ask him why he’s waterboarding himself. This time, he called his shot.

The lesson of the day is that no matter how many times you check to make sure the nails you're putting in the wall are level, it doesn't matter when the hooks on the back of the picture frame aren't level.  I'd say that hopefully the wife won't notice, but she always does.

It reminds me of a few years back when I put a big picture of our son up on the wall.  I went all out, as scientific as humanly possible, to get that thing level.  But as it turned out, no matter how perfectly level it is, it still looks off thanks to the light switch below it that was mounted poorly.

You do know that it's not overly difficult to adjust the way a light switch is mounted, right? 😉

But, it probably is best to wait until wifey's B-Day to make that adjustment.  Lets one get off with a cheaper "big" gift for that one.  😉

I’d have to move the entire box behind the switch plate. It has 3 switches and with how this is cut into the wall, it’s a lost cause.

Does anybody know wtf the NHL Network is showing the Sabres Avs game from Dec 3 tonight?  THAT was THE game where the wheels fell off and the season was lost.

What a bizarrely cruel choice of a game.

To the Avs fans it was a great comeback.

Ooooh, look at us, we're cool, we spotted the Sabres a 4-1 lead and came back.

Big whoop.

I think the guy that ran way over into someone else space and took the ball away from people who sat in that area is the one deserving blame here. She probably should have let it go, but she wasn't totally wrong. People making it out like she took a kids birthday ball are wrong, she didn't know that, she just knew some dude had ran over from another section to take something that was bouncing around at her feet. And the social media world gangs up on her.

She yells that it was in her hand and he took it away from her hand.  That it hit her hand before bouncing to the row below hers is immaterial to who should actually end up with the ball.  Balls and pucks that go into the crowd very often end up going home with the 2nd or even 3rd person to have an actual crack at them.  Is what it is.  But she did not have it in her hand when he took it.  IF she did, would say she has a case.

And the guy didn't come from another section.  He came over from about 10 seats away (which happened to be the nearest occupied seat in his row to where the ball was) to a ball rolling around in HIS row.  You can say it was in HER area because of its horizontal position relative to her and him; but you could also say it was in HIS area because it was in his row with its vertical position relative to him and her.  AND it was way easier and way safer for him to get to it based upon where it was when he got the ball.  For her to get to it without jumping over a seat she needed to walk to the end of her row down 2 steps and then traverse essentially the same distance within that row as he travelled from his seat to get to it.

IMHO, after having watched the exchange between the 2 from a couple of different angles, fully expect that had the ball bounced closer to the guy while staying in his row after bouncing out of her hand then she would've still run over claiming he stole HER ball.

1.  Ballpark rules.  Who grabs the ball, gets the ball.  That's it.  There are no territorial limits.  She should have been quicker if it was so close to her.

2.  I agree that she should not have been subjected to social media exposure.  She also shouldn't have been so "country" but without the O and R about the whole situation.

3.  Wasn't this like two weeks ago?

The story is ancient at this point. But anyway, she’s a complete moron, but like you said, she shouldn’t have been subjected to the online Spanish Inquisition. Every single video these days, there’s this quick rush to figure out who the person is so we can shame them. Yet  another example of why I hate the internet.

Yep.  Everyone has their worst moments in life.  None of us need them recorded and uploaded to the Internet for all to see.

EDIT:  Except the Flyers.

We've done that for ages and then submitted the videos to Bob Saget, granted there were far less cameras around.  But now we track them down and determine every single thing right down to their blood type.  It's probably best to avoid public gatherings at this point, heaven forbid someone takes a picture and catches you mid-blink so it looks like you're sleeping during the national anthem.

She probably is a miserable human being, but I don't care.

No, I disagree, stay in your seat. If it comes to you its yours. Karen shouldn't be expected to wage a battle in her seat area from some clown running through the stands to get a ball. Following the "rules" you state and its no wonder there was a confrontation. I think he knew he was wrong that's why he surrendered the ball.

It was between a bunch of empty seats. Even Karen needed to get out of her seat.  Do you really expect fans to sit on their hands with a ball rolling around?
