Someday I want to see the Sabres win an NHL game in Buffalo. I have a huge losing streak going. It’s over 10 years. Last season I watched them blow a lead to the Kings in an early season game. I started my boycott that night. So, YOU'RE the one that made Zucker take that penalty that blew everything up at the end? Sheesh, like the soup Nazi says: No Sabres for YOU!!!! 😉 1 Quote

On a tangent, didn’t realize until recently that when cars drive by to hand water bottles to the riders, there’s an art to how long they allow their hands to both linger on the bottle for just a moment so the car in affect pulls forward the rider allowing for momentary rest The art of cheating is one of the best parts of sports 1 Quote
PASabreFan Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago You can fill the Cup with all manner of things, but what in the world is the announcer filling the Claret Jug with at about 11:12 in the video? CC says "lusks." That doesn't seem to be right. Quote

I couldn’t find any take on what it was filled with this time. Quote

For example, steroids. But if it can be measured/seen and penalized on the field of play — that’s cool. If you want to cork your bat, have an illegal lacrosse stick, or say “the ref won’t call illegal contact” on every passing play… then go for it. The key is: if you get caught, don’t complain about it. Take your penalty, or suspension, and come back next time. (With even more cork!) Quote

It involves athletes but it’s a soap opera with people in their underwear. I’ve definitely never understood dudes fascination with it. inkman Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago Anyone following the WNBA and their pay concerns? It seems as if the players want to get paid on valuation of the franchise vs actual revenue they generate. I know Caitlin Clarke has turned the league on its head. I’ve peeped a few games. It should be written into their CBA what percent of the revenue they are owed. It probably wasn’t a thing as traditionally they weren’t making money. Maybe Caitlin has changed that. I’m all for fair compensation, just not sure what that translates to at this juncture. Quote

She is playing injured rignt now and isn't dominating like she did before she went on IR. Amazed at how badly she gets hacked by opponents because interest in the league (and the advertising revenue that accompanies it) goes down tremendously when she isn't playing. And if they shorten her career appreciably they'll shorten the window they have to catch on as a sport that people in general care about. Women's soccer had Mia Hamm and Abby Wambach and then Alex Morgan and it's back to being an afterthought for the most part again. They really need to understand just what they have in Clark and they also really need to get her Larry Bird a Magic Johnson to stir up interest because Bird vs Rodman, while an interesting story, wasn't anywhere near as compelling. Bird vs Rodman wouldn't have gotten CBS to stop showing playoff games on tape delay. Bird vs Johnson got them way beyond that. Quote

Even if her career lasts for a long time, does the novelty wear off at some point? I guess your Magic/Bird comment hits on that a bit. Quote

I guess your Magic/Bird comment hits on that a bit. They tried to fabricate a similar rivalry with Clark and Angel Reese. To this point, it doesn’t seem Reese is good enough to make it a rivalry.
