  1. I mean it's not like we did a culture trade a few years back that ended up one of the biggest disasters in hockey history or anything. Why learn from history when you can repeat it?
  2. The problem was that the fools who have coached this team insisted in putting him in positions where he not only failed miserably but also exposed all of his flaws in a way that they couldn't be ignored and turned him into a living terrible player meme.
  3. There are two ways to outperform a dogshit roster: 1) Elite coaching 2) Elite goaltending What is this garbage dump of an organization doing? 1) Narrow the coaching search down to an interim whose big accomplishment was doing somewhat better than the single worst coach in modern history and is another entry level hire and a Cawlidge Hawkey coach (AKA The most surefire path to complete failure in hockey and to be honest in all of pro sports). 2) Watch the only NHL quality goalie in the entire organization walk out on a free transfer and depend on the undisputed worst goalie in the entire league.
  4. Yes, clearly it was Jack's fault the team was bad and not things like throwing out a goalie who needed a seeing eye dog on a nightly basis or a neverending series of entry level coach and GM hires instead of actual proven pros.
  5. Other than the guy who has a long track record of coaching multiple teams and almost always ending up in the playoffs who has pretty much said "Hey guys give me a call!". But hey, why make a hire that would give this organization actual credibility when we can go for yet another entry level hire and continue to fail?
  6. So in an NFL game if one of the blockers on the other side from the play clotheslines a defensive player it's perfectly fine because it didn't affect the play?
  7. In a normal year it would be, but for one of the most pitiful drafts in terms of high end talent you will ever see that's pretty bad value.
  8. It's insane that isn't something that can be challenged on a goal. But given Tampa's entire game plan is built around pick plays and the refs don't give a ***** what else is new?
  9. There is only one thing I want: Tyce!
  10. If I was just about the most incompetent owner in hockey history whose meddling led to my team being the single worst organization in modern league history I'd probably come to the conclusion to stop and just get the hell out of the way.
  11. And we are going to do another entry level hire and wonder why we continue to fail. The lesson everyone should learn from the Isles is that a great coach can overcome a less than ideal roster.
  12. The fact that it will end with Jack and Sam being traded for a pu pu platter of stuff easily makes this the worst most soul crushing season in team history. There isn't even going to be a Come To Jesus moment for this organization like there was on LI when they realized what was going to happen and brought in one of the greatest execs of all time and the undisputed best coach on the planet.
  13. When the Whalers won our only playoff series in 1986 there was literally a parade attended by many multiples of people more than the Canes cup celebration. Then Rich Gordon and Ed Johnston happened...
  14. There's a great chance the Eichel trade is to hockey in Buffalo what the Ron Francis trade is to hockey in Hartford. So yeah, this is the worst.
  15. Was after Phail Housley's first season (you know, the one we finished dead last). Clearly after such a stunningly successful first season it would've been madness to sack him and bring in the best coach in the world.
  16. More like teams are licking their chops at the thought of swindling the most grossly unqualified GM in hockey history, stooge of the worst owner in modern NHL history. There will be nothing but lowball offers until the unqualified stooge accepts one.
  17. Sir do you realize that the path to success in the NHL is by acquiring many many giraffes? Note that it rhymes with Power.
  18. Who do you trust: A guy who is in no way qualified to hold an NHL GM position backed by a scouting department that barely exists or the overwhelming consensus of scouts throughout the league?
  19. And even with his negatives Risto was "developed" (ruined) in just about the worst most incompetent manner you will ever see in pro hockey.
  20. Risto's issue is that he is just about the dumbest player I have ever seen play in the NHL. I will never forget hanging outside the Harbor Center Tims and some guy in a sports car comes speeding down the street like the Daytona 500 and my friend turns to me and says "Risto".
  21. If Adams passes on him it's conclusive proof he is the most dangerous type of executive in all of pro sports: The village idiot who thinks he is the smartest guy in the room.
