Why would you have faith in someone whose performance has been completely erratic and seems to get seriously injured every 20 games?

Guy gets the puck in front of the net 3/4 between it and the blue line. No defender bothers to close in on the guy and he is able to skate in and take a clear unobstructed shot.

Why is this team so comically awful defensively? This is like watching that Doug Weight Islanders team that averaged conceding 40+ shots per game. I know they've cycled through tons of guys but this in no way acceptable for AHL level.

In the early 90's the Pat Riley Knicks perfected a brand of basketball that was closer to an MMA bout that unless you were a Knicks fan was almost impossible to watch. Teams began to copy this style and NBA ratings began to plummet. The league responded by essentially legislating that style out of the game. NHL: "Nah we're good."

Simple common sense is what informed this decision. If you have people with Ukrainian flags heckling Ovie there is a really good chance that there will be Caps fans who take issue with it and you end up with a very ugly scene taking place in the stands.

OK so I just Googled Doug Jemal and can safely say that anyone who thinks he would be allowed to buy the Sabres is out of their goddamned mind. Being a convicted felon is bad enough but the guy's net worth is $150 million and the absolute lowest cost to buy the team would be more than double that. I don't have a math degree but can see this would probably be an issue.
