I can understand concerns but you know I was a Whalers fan and we drafted Chris Pronger. In his first two seasons he played on Whalers teams that were spectacularly awful, and on those teams Pronger stood out as especially awful (as in every bit as bad as Dahlin looks now and possibly even slightly worse). He was traded to the Blues for Brendan Shanadouche and the rest is history.

What is true about Dahlin is also true of every single player in this organization in terms of having their games fall straight off a cliff. Fix the source of the problems (having comically incompetent coaching because the team is too stupid to hire qualified professionals) and things will do a 180. The stories about how the team would constantly screw things up in practice and Kreuger would never stop things to point out what was done wrong and make them repeat the drill until they got it right are just mindblowing, how could any player possibly develop under such ludicrous circumstances?

I think it's a case that's best exemplified by what Ole Anderson once told Jim Cornette: " Jim, I used to think you were a dumb***** but so many other dumb*****s have come along since that you've moved up the ladder without even trying!"

Here's where I disagree with blow everything up: the last Sabres coach who you could even claim is an actual NHL coach was Dan Bylsma (who is pretty bad, as evidenced by him not getting a HC gig since). Since then we had two seasons of a bad high school coach and a season and a half of a slick talking con man who was in way over his head. You could take as much good young talent as you wish, throw them into that viper's nest of incompetence and the result would always be spectacular failure. So rather than blow it all up and hire another entry level trashbag coach in way over his head how about hiring an honest to God proven quality head coach with a track record of success a mile long. If that doesn't happen in a few years time we will be having this same exact conversation only the names will be Cozens, Quinn, Samuelson and whatever poor godforsaken bastard who has the horrible misfortune to be selected by us 3rd overall in the 2021 draft.

The 3 day testing requirement is only a slightly less useless theater exercise than temperature scans.
