  1. Yes Lehner's SV% is good. And yes he needs better help from his defense. But he spits out more rebounds than the games at chucky cheese spit out tickets. If he would freeze the Puck at more opportune times or send some of the rebounds in better places, he would face less shots. If he faced ten less shots per game he could probably save a half a goal per game. Yes his shootouts are terrible to. And during the games he has a hard time stoping breakaway's as well. So I just don't think when it comes time to contend for the cup he's what we will need.
  2. Yes, yes it does. We also played something like 12 games in 20 days, 3 back to backs with only one day off before and after, with no period of two days off. Would prefer to have the games spread out a little more and skip the buy week.
  3. No more buy week please!!!!
  4. I like these ideas alot, l would like to see the NHL change the replay rule after a goal is scored. To not include offside. Many times the goal is scored after the play has been in the zone for a while and many times the offsides was just by a couple of inches and had no effect on the goal at all.
  5. Agee with this 100% wild, another great game day thread opener.
  6. I think the problem is goaltending. They have little confidence in whoever is in net. Goalie's have cost them more games by far than stolen wins. I think it's hard to play when the sentiment is we can't keep a lead. I think the effort is down a little because of this.
  7. And yet penalties are far more likely to affect a goal than an offsides.
  8. The high stick (that wasn't called) taking our player down contributed alot to that goal being scored. Unlike an offsides by an inch that probably doesn't affect a goal at all.
  9. Thanks Hoss, if I'm reading this right then the teams record that lose or are hurt by the challenge is 35-52-4 of 91. That's close to 62% lose rate.
  10. That was surprising to me as well. We've definitely come a long way.
  11. I am going to take this opportunity to state again my opposition to the challenge, even though we won it last night in the Arizona game. For the sake of argument I'm going to say there was no golie interference. My problem is that the high sticking call wasn't reviewable on the goal. A player being a couple of inches offsides is minimal to a goal being scored compared to a player being taken out of the play (in this case a high stick not being called). Correct me if I'm wrong, but the high sticking call would have been the highest percentage to overturn rather than the golie interference. It was the most obvious and easily seen on replay. Hence my assumption that the high sticking call wasn't reviewable. This is my problem with the challenge. They need to do away with it completely.
  12. I think between the loss of a goal and the loss of momentum, that put's your team in a deeper hole than before they scored. The odds get smaller every time you have to come from behind in a game. Of course not all challenges are made coming from behind, some keep a team from going up two goals and thus would have less of an effect on the outcome of the game.
  13. I didn't know big Z played for the preds.... Oh wait, man I hate those jerseys. When we were playing the preds I was thinking how awful those jerseys are.
  14. I like the time limit idea or only review if the player that was offsides scoes or makes the primary assist within a time limit.
  15. This
  16. I hope they do away with the challenge, but I'm not holding my breath. I at least hope they will modify it so that lesser calls aren't game changers.
  17. I would bet teams that have a goal taken away lose 80% of those games. Teams who challenge to get a goal added (like the preds game) may be 50-50. I just believe that an offsides is now a game changer and I don't like it. That's not what the rule was for, but that is the unintended consequences.
  18. OK, this is my first go at starting a thread, so here it goes. I put this in the game day thread but thought it might make a good topic. I think losing the challenge kills a team. I've only watched Sabres game's and of the four challenges made the team that lost the challenge lost the game. All of a sudden offsides and other calls are having more of an effect on games than they should. Does anybody know what the win loss record is for team's that lose the challenge?
  19. We finally got a challenge to go our way last night. I've only watched Sabres game's so the three we lost killed us and we were never able to recover and the preds were the same way. I know that we scored twice on an extended power play but I think losing the challenge is hard to overcome. Does anyone know what the win loss record is for team's that lose the challenge is?
  20. God has truly blessed me this year. No major illness in my family. An awful lot of good things he has given me. Including going to a Sabres game. Gods creation is truly an amazing thing.
  21. Well Ennis definitely needs to be traded. He was invisible out there last night.????
  22. Went to the game last night, man that was bad. Even O'Reilly was quiet along with others mentioned above. There was very little offense last night. This team has lost its way. But I have to keep reminding myself that they are playing a tough part of the schedule now. Also this is a young team that has not played together for long. Better days are ahead. On a side note, that was the first time to go to a game. Have watched every game for the last few years on sattelite. But to see a game live was a great experience. Met TBJ there as well. We could hear TBJ and those with him even get the "let's go Buffalo" chant going. Was surprised at how many Sabres fans were there. That was great to see as well.
  23. Well we're fixing to leave to get to the game tonight. Been really looking forward to it since they put out the schedule. I think we can win this one with a little Puck luck. They have been able to hang in there in most games. Any given game any given night they could win. Great to have a team worth cheering for. I'll be wearing my Eichel jersy for the first time tonight. GO SABRES!!!
  24. OK I need to watch what I'm writing, there are four other players that could score and get the primary assist not three.
  25. . Well not me, I don't like the idea of going back 30-60 or more second's to make a call. It absolutely take's the crowd out of the game, as well as the players. I think even worse than before the goal was scored. It wouldn't matter if we had won three straight calls. I don't like this rule. Unfortunately I think this rule is here to stay, so here's an idea, the goal is only taken back if the goal was scored by the player that was offsides or was the primary assist on the goal. That leaves three other players to score. It would eliminate some of the call backs.
