  1. Agreed, second in points, only behind Jack. He's not flashy or dynamic but just gets the job done.
  2. I don't think Plummers can keep up on the first line. That's why they keep switching back and forth with Sam. It would have been nice if we could have gotten someone at the deadline to fix that. It would have had a trickle down effect on all the lines.
  3. I think the pressure of trying to win a team record eleven games got to them a little bit. They are a very young teem. If they had come into this game on a five game win streak they probably would have played better. They just seemed off a bit. Of course playing one of the best teams in the league added to it as well. Over all I'm well pleased with this team. FUN TO WATCH. Finally...
  4. ugh.. emoji didn't take. Being sarcastic.... Well sort of.
  5. Wow, you're giving Lhener a lot of credit there.
  6. I've never been on the trade ROR train. I think a winning team will cure his problems. If this article is right he played the third hardest minutes and was still our second highest point getter. Above that I don't think people appreciate his face off wins. Does anyone have any stats on goals we scored after he won a face off? I know this is impossible but how many goals against were saved. I know we didn't score many but Imagine if we had a good team how many more goals we might score. We will be good this year. Now if we trade ROR and replace him with someone with a lower face off percentage we lose those goals as well.
  7. Lehner makes spectacular saves there's no doubt about it. But he has 6 problems that add up to an average goalie at best. 1: In the back of my mind I'm always wondering when the other team will get that soft goal. I think it also kills momentum for our team when it happens which is quite often 2: When he plays the puck behind the net he shoots it to the opposing team half the time. 3: he has a hard time holding the post. 4: He is prone to way over comit to one side and has a hard time getting back in time. Which allows him to make spectacular saves but if he didn't overcommit it wouldn't have to be a spectacular saves. 5: Rebound control is not very good. Has he ever heard the term "freeze the puck". 6: His breakaway and shootouts are terrible. These 6 things make him nowhere near a playoff calliber goalie IMHO.
  8. Do you think he might want to play this year under new GM, new coach, and new system, then if he likes the style of play want to resign with us?
  9. I don't know, I just did it Buffalo came up number one on third try, then didn't hit top three for four times then Buffalo hit number one next four out of five.
  10. YESSSSS. PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN SOONER THAN LATER
  11. Yes Lehner's SV% is good. And yes he needs better help from his defense. But he spits out more rebounds than the games at chucky cheese spit out tickets. If he would freeze the Puck at more opportune times or send some of the rebounds in better places, he would face less shots. If he faced ten less shots per game he could probably save a half a goal per game. Yes his shootouts are terrible to. And during the games he has a hard time stoping breakaway's as well. So I just don't think when it comes time to contend for the cup he's what we will need.
  12. Yes, yes it does. We also played something like 12 games in 20 days, 3 back to backs with only one day off before and after, with no period of two days off. Would prefer to have the games spread out a little more and skip the buy week.
  13. I like these ideas alot, l would like to see the NHL change the replay rule after a goal is scored. To not include offside. Many times the goal is scored after the play has been in the zone for a while and many times the offsides was just by a couple of inches and had no effect on the goal at all.
  14. Agee with this 100% wild, another great game day thread opener.
  15. I think the problem is goaltending. They have little confidence in whoever is in net. Goalie's have cost them more games by far than stolen wins. I think it's hard to play when the sentiment is we can't keep a lead. I think the effort is down a little because of this.
  16. And yet penalties are far more likely to affect a goal than an offsides.
  17. The high stick (that wasn't called) taking our player down contributed alot to that goal being scored. Unlike an offsides by an inch that probably doesn't affect a goal at all.
  18. Thanks Hoss, if I'm reading this right then the teams record that lose or are hurt by the challenge is 35-52-4 of 91. That's close to 62% lose rate.
  19. That was surprising to me as well. We've definitely come a long way.
  20. I am going to take this opportunity to state again my opposition to the challenge, even though we won it last night in the Arizona game. For the sake of argument I'm going to say there was no golie interference. My problem is that the high sticking call wasn't reviewable on the goal. A player being a couple of inches offsides is minimal to a goal being scored compared to a player being taken out of the play (in this case a high stick not being called). Correct me if I'm wrong, but the high sticking call would have been the highest percentage to overturn rather than the golie interference. It was the most obvious and easily seen on replay. Hence my assumption that the high sticking call wasn't reviewable. This is my problem with the challenge. They need to do away with it completely.
  21. I think between the loss of a goal and the loss of momentum, that put's your team in a deeper hole than before they scored. The odds get smaller every time you have to come from behind in a game. Of course not all challenges are made coming from behind, some keep a team from going up two goals and thus would have less of an effect on the outcome of the game.
  22. I didn't know big Z played for the preds.... Oh wait, man I hate those jerseys. When we were playing the preds I was thinking how awful those jerseys are.
  23. I like the time limit idea or only review if the player that was offsides scoes or makes the primary assist within a time limit.
