My thoughts on the game/s Eichel-Kane and Pommy with 28 points so far unfortunately the rest of the team has a total of 19 I thought the team playing it's 4th game in 6 games plus the 3rd in 4 days caught up with them, it seemed like they were skating in 3 foot of water for a majority of the game Nice come back in the 3rd, team showed it didn't quit I'm not sure if it's a quirk but Gorges has been a positive for the D in his limited time I liked ROR on the PP2 team. It always appeared that squad needed a QB and ROR provided it. They actually played as well as I've seen them in several years. I still don't quite understand the anti-Kane phenomenon on this board. He's way down on the list of issues with this team but he seems to get the most pub. Bogosian is needed if only to sit Risto down more often. He still makes rookie mistakes out there way to often. I'm not sure if he's trying to do too much or he's in desperate need of a mentor out there. Hopefully Scandella will help as time goes by. ROR and Samson finally getting on the scoreboard. Hopefully this will pick up both their confidence and the teams. What has happened to McCabe?? He seems to have disappeared, Kane has 39 SOG, the next 2 highest players combined have less. Jack needs to shoot more but it's really hard to fault him for anything this year, he's played more D in 7 games than the previous 2 years combined. The broadcast on NHL.TV was awful last night. Picture quality kept going out for the entire game. LV broadcast was slightly better but not much. If it wasn't apparent before it's obvious now, we have a GK problem.

And here's the problem with what you're doing, if you swap the play and stats of Kane and Samson, you and some others would be calling for the dismemberment of Kane from the team and calling Samson the 2nd coming of Eichel.

Eichel as good as he is can't save this team, he actually is playing or has played extremely well Girgensons has earned a spot on the team again. If he continues his play, he'll be fine somewhere on the middle six Saying Nolan is better than Des is pretty faint praise Give Housley some time, as bad as things seem at the moment, I think he's pushing the team in the right direction although at times it seems uncoordinated.

Dang, I waited all summer to get to hockey season again, no way I'm dropping NHL TV because of a couple of preseason games with the Laffs. The Laffs not only have an edge in NHL talent but are 3 years into their system while we still have 3-4 young guns not quite ready for the show just yet plus we're in the infancy of running a new system. The Laffs all things being equal are probably a 15 point better team than us presently. Its hard to be patient but that's exactly what it will take this year. Playing at speed and Playing with speed unfortunately are 2 different things and although signs of a much quicker and faster team is evident, we're still an uncoordinated mess at playing with speed and enough of new guys that'll need to stew together awhile before they mesh well. As for Samson, I hope they keep him at Center but Kane and Pommytown need to play with Jack and Okposo needs to go back with ROR. I didn't see those Saturday lines meshing at all. Good veteran presence, they'll have to keep an eye on his TOI so he doesn't wear down. The better the other winger and center is, the better he'll do

I agree it's almost all on your talent you have on hand but to me you also want some sort of shutdown line in a best case scenario that can still put points on the board. My lines were setup with the thought that ROR is our top defensive Center and by far our best faceoff man. If he's also going to get some rest this year and not ground into the ice again, this would be the way of getting him a little less TOI but still have someone who can balance out the scoring on the 3rd line. Girgs playing full time with ROR might just bring out the best in him also. I still have hope for him and he was almost completely wasted by DDB. Plus if Fasching or Bailey is the 3rd member of that line, that's one fast and powerful line to play against. I don't think he cares who he plays with, he just wants to win and get his TOI

I think if this line becomes a possibility it'll be the 2nd line not the third First line Pouliot-Eichel-Okposo Second line Kane-Samson-Pominville Third line which would be your defensive line Girgensons-ROR-(Breakthrough Rookie) Fourth line Josefson/Moulson-Larsson-Rodrigues Josefson/Moulson-Deslauriers

I realize this is a throw it up against the wall and see what sticks lineup but You're going to put you $10M player with 2 guys that barely averaged 10 minutes a game of ice time last year?? And haven't proven anything in the NHL yet I also don't think Pommy can play the minutes ROR is going to demand whether it's on the 3rd line or higher, a spot here or there but they'd kill him for a full season And what in the world had Samson done to get teamed up with the teams leading goal scorer and best all around winger. Just don't see it happening It won't surprise me if Housley completely changes the lines as we've known them but it won't be these.

Not that the D didn't need to be improved but the biggest difference should be the forwards playing a more 200 foot game. They were as much to blame for the bad D as the defensemen were IMO.

I'm so conditioned to checking the Avatar to know who's posting, that your change is killing me. Not that it's bad just that I have to do a doubletake everytime I run across it. Last year was a catastrophe for a bunch of the players on this team. I think a change will help most of them out but not all. No clue who'll be on either list. I'm hoping Samson and Bogo move to the good list.
