Yes! But even I was but a young lad then, not truly able to comprehend what was happening, and the magic of the time. If I have to wait another 40 years, I dare say I will probably be in the same mental state as I was for the Perreault era, and hopefully as happy!

Pure logic says your right, but.. Emotionally speaking, I want my own farm raised, watch him grow generational talent. I want the Sabres to take this once in a hockey fans life time chance and run with it. I want to see him and a team mature together and win together. That is what this year has been about to me.

I get the sense that Jerry and his agent want to make sure Rex puts him in a situation to succeed. More of a, "how much are you going to change stuff?" meeting. You have a bad (or un-productive year), and it could be your last. Jerry has a couple more productive years, that leads to a couple more, that leads to a whole lot of $$$$.

I'm always hearing, he only looks average in Buffalo because of the team around him, he's our best defenseman. I won't argue he was our best or in the top pairing. But.... He goes to a team where he should look good, be that over the edge back end difference maker that the Pens needed, and he isn't it in my opinion. Just makes GMTM look better to me for buying him out. So, yes, your right, and I'm beating that poor dead horse. -
