  1. I completely agree. If the Sabres had a legitimate #2 and #3 center there would never had been the need for the Tank, and Ennis probably would still be on the wing. A #1 center is like a NFL quaterback to me, hard to come by and if you don't have one you're always looking for one.
  2. Your right, they don't, especially on draft day. My question was more of , It's ok to just refer to them as Jerseys? No one on SS is the "sweater Nazi"? There are still times, and I think Mike Robitaille is one of the old school people, that will correct any one that calls them jerseys. I like calling them sweaters as a plug for the past, but I'm not correcting any one for calling them a jersey.
  3. Driving down and I hope to be in Va late Fri. pm buying cheap gas and have the temp be above 35 deg. Good Luck, have fun and be warm.
  4. This may have been discussed and I may be kicking a dead horse, but when growing up it was a football jersey, and a hockey sweater. Have we moved to the point were in all sports on draft day the newest team member pulls a jersey over his head?
  5. I've watch quite a bit of the Pens. He is a good defense men, but he's not the difference maker I thought he would be. He certainly hasn't pushed the Pens to become the Cup contender they should be. They are still lacking that Bogo type defense men, no team respects the Pens back end.
  6. Who's this Hitler? Why does he matter? Does he have a sports team? Is he like the Kardashians? Famous for no reason.
  7. If this is something you learn to enjoy, then look up the Great Alleghany Passage. Not far from you, and quite possible the most scenic bike ride any where in the U.S. Going back Labor Day weekend and staying in a campground in Connellsville. This was the first time in my life, that before we left the area I made reservations for the following year we liked it so much.
  8. It took a decade, but Buffalo sports are all over every news outlet. This is way better than the same old , same old.
  9. My wife and I love Texas. I think they have a lot in common with WNY'ers. They get that "why would any one want to live there" crap from outsiders so much that everyone considers them egotistical, indifferent, or stupid if they don't bother with you. We've never had a bad experience when starting a conversation with "Hello, beautiful day is in it? Can you help me..." It's the smell. Nothing connects you with an area like smell. Buildings, houses, stores all look the same after a while, but a smell will bring back memories or connect you with the region.
  10. On the contrary, I was hoping for same. I know most of us on SS have grown up in WNY and have learned to brush off any snide remarks on where we live (or lived). But I tread lightly on joking on others homesteads and dogs, that often times starts more trouble than a wife comment.
  11. That little bastard of a goalie coach might just ruin your parade. He has done more to de-track the tank than any person I can think of. He coached up two goalies to the point where GMTM got a good return on their trade, and the team was on the verge of dropping a spot in the Carrion League.
  12. Time is at it's highest the last 2 games (12-13 minutes), I believe since last year. I tried to cut and paste NHL stats. Old man fail...
  13. I'm not saying you are wrong. In fact I think you are right, I though he played a shift on the PP. In the third, maybe with 30seconds left in the game?
  14. I checked NHL stats, they have zero for him. You shouldn't be shocked and amazed, but I completely understand why you are.
  15. What would be gained by keeping him here. He would be on the fourth line with no ice time with Matt Ellis and who ever else is in the Nolan dog house. Never get a chance on the PP. At least GMTM gets to evaluate him in Rochester, not the best case scenario, but what choice does Murray have. I don't follow Rochester, who is the Ellis clone still there? Bring him up and make Nolan happy.
  16. It appears as though you live in the drippy section of the gentleman sausage. It's not my fault, blame the pierogi, he pointed it out. Then you had to make me look for the water spot, I mean lake. You didn't think that this was going to end without some comment, did you?
  17. Cody is at least getting ice time. Due to injuries and trades he is forced to play with some line mates that have some skill. But even with the AHL squad now playing Cody has yet to see one PP shift. Again, I am not a Cody fan, but if there is one place Cody should play is on the PP. This shows that there is either some tank coercion by the coaching staff, or that they are at a total loss on how to get the most out of a player.
  18. Thank you scared kitties for playing hard enough to beat the Laughs. The laughs had me worried that they could challenge for the Shart. But now I don't think there is a shot in the dark that it happens, the laughs are just not good enough to challenge for the Shart.
  19. Give them a week, they will all be full of compete. Compete is all they need.
  20. The game was closer than what the score shows. Do not look at stats, they will not tell the whole truth. Yes the Sabres were slightly out shot, hit, chanced, but it was a really good game. All those that where unable to watch live , I hope you are able to record this game. It's obvious that the Sabres are going to be a tough win for the next 18 games for any team they go up against.
  21. Then I shall never try sobriety.
  22. Sabres just need a Mtn Dew Kick Start
