  1. If you see this... then know that I am reducing my time on here.  I don't begrudge the saltiness of the board over the current state of the team.  I just can't be around it as much.

  2. Can't say as I blame you... despite my moderate view on the Sabres, I still have no desire to go see them play at the moment.
  3. I'd go with the sour grapes. When a team gets you down you gotta find the joy where you can and cling to it. Keep yourself sane. ?
  4. I love the takes in here. Let's see if this is how things look right now: Zach Bogosian has not been a favorite around here for a long time, he even has a bunker. Evan Rodrigues has been questioned by many, and stated to be JAG. Sabres GM brings in players to create competition and those players prove to be better than Rodrigues and Bogosian. Rodrigues and Bogosian indicate they would like to be traded because they can't crack the roster anymore. The response here is that the GM has failed the organization and that the organization is a joke. I'm not sure how the GM has failed if that GM has brought in talent that has pushed out players that didn't belong here in the first place. I agree, they've tried to trade Rodrigues, no one wants him. Waive him to Rochester. Let him enjoy his time there. These players think they are more valuable to the team, but when given time on the ice their play fails to show it. I don't want that kind of player on my team, ever. You get your shot, you take it. If you don't succeed you don't turn around and blame the organization. These players are terrible, and whether they are actually terrible or they are upset about their situation so they aren't even trying to play better, it doesn't matter to me. The end result is the same. They suck, they need to go and the good news.. they will be gone soon, no matter what.
  5. I can't explain why anyone likes him. The people who like him can explain it. I could hypothesize, and the hypothesis would focus on the bigotry being related to race and economic status. Every race has their own version of "<race> trash". I'm always open for discussion. I don't support tariffs. I'm not a fan of policies that are designed to make it harder for others to compete. More energy spent on keeping others down as opposed to making yourself better. The American people let the Chinese goods into the country, they ate it up. It's on them to fix it.
  6. Holy hell it's been a busy couple of weeks. Game will be in the background... regardless of what happens tonight, I'll still pop a cork at midnight and be happy for 2020. I liked 2019 as well. Here's to you and the Sabres. Cheers!
  7. No, I agree with that which is what i had said outright. Constraining the discussion for Trump, if one supports him, then one does so accepting that he has demonstrated his bigotry and hatred. It's just that one finds his redeeming qualities to outweight his negative. However, it's still support for the overall person.
  8. What are you getting at here? Are you referring to me or are you defending Trump's behavior by comparing it to the childish and immature behavior of some of his opposition?
  9. From my point of view, no, it's not cool. But it's easy for people to act as childish as those they oppose. At a minimum they can fall back on, "well, they did it." It's all BS. I know I am responding to a post that wasn't directed at me. I don't hate Trump. Hate is a strong word. Trump is completely incompetent for his position and I think he's not someone I would ever want to be around. He's a problem as the face of the country, and of that I have no doubt. Those who resort to the same childish, ignorant, and immature behavior to oppose him are no better. But again, that doesn't make him right, it just makes him equally wrong.
  10. Hate is hate, it doesn't matter what side you are on. Just because the left act like a bunch of jerks doesn't absolve the right from doing the same. It can be hypocritical for one side to speak it of the other but that doesn't change the fact that supporting Trump is supporting his bigotry and hate. If you take any equivalent person, from any political ideal, and they were like Trump, it would be the same scenario. As long as people continue to support these attitudes, nothing will improve.
  11. Dan Marino used to be able to intentionally ground the ball at will with impunity. I think certain players obtain a status where the official's line for calling the penalty is moved, even so slightly, in the favor of the player.
  12. This is why its important to buy an Internet router that allows you control over what devices can access the Internet and when. No need to hide it if it simply cannot get on the Internet anyway. I have time limits on the games too for my kids. It's getting to the point now though that you can simply ask Alexa to block the Internet for the xbox. ?
  13. This is the kid who threw his silver medal into the stands at the WJC right? He's whined in his time with the Rangers. I'm not sure his attitude is the right one for this team at this time. Maybe a 7th round pick for him.
  14. As I typed out that sentence... that is exactly the scene I had in mind. In fact, I was trying to find a way to write that scene in such a way that it would apply to hockey. ?
  15. Yes. This is fundamentally true. In essence, if you support a person for their stance on a single issue and would put them in office because of it you are saying that issue is more important that the bigotry you acknowledge exists. I understand the point, that the alternative might be a worse decision, thus the concept of the lesser of two evils. However, we spend more time trying to determine who is more evil than trying to demand we get candidates who are just not evil in the first place. We're fundamentally broken because of it. That said, I'd prefer a President who can pull America together, not tear it apart like Trump is doing. Foreign policy, while important, is not nearly as important as governing the country you were elected to run. What good is having sit down talks with a North Korean dictator if your country is falling apart beneath you? I mean, we're not really falling apart yet but the foundations are being stressed to the highest levels they've ever been stressed I believe.
  16. Was going to miss the game today due to my son's varsity game.. but it would seem that the compressors at the rink failed overnight so the ice is toast. So, now i get to watch the Sabres game. Since I don't get NFL Network, I won't see the Bills. I thank the NFL for making it easier for me to get out and get stuff done.
  17. Meeting friends at a bar, that hopefully has the game on. The start of vacation through Jan 1. Let's Gooooooo Buffalo!
  18. Thought maybe they were going to retire 91 on the night the Leafs were in town, but it's the Bruins that night.
  19. Damn.... I'm saddened by the situation that brought this to fruition. I'm heartened by the "We're hanging with Dad no matter what." that your family displayed for him. I absolutely love that the nurse not only did not shut you down, but came back to hang out and help make it even more special. Cheers to you, your family, the nurse, and most of all your Dad.
  20. So a football teams wins 10 games for the first time in 20 years and makes the playoffs, legitimately this time, in the same period and people still devolve into hating on each other. This is what is wrong with the Internet. It's okay to be happy. It's okay to not over analyze things, over debate things. It's okay.
  21. And yet you don't run into me either... funny how that works. ?
  22. I hope so, because it seems like this is holding up other things at this point.
  23. Really... hmmm. I think Disney screwed themselves when they let Verizon give away a year of just Disney+... since i get that for free, I am not about to pay the money to add Hulu and ESPN+, although I had considered paying to get the package they had put together. I might have to rethink that though.
  24. Hell yeah.. if i wasn't just in Detroit and Little Rock over the past week and half... Honestly, need to get there to experience some skating and some Christmas markets... A little rest is always good..
