  1. Saying Eichel can come back for the playoffs will keep teams interested in offering up trades for him. He's as good as gone and I think we need to just accept it. He doesn't have to "want" out. I think they are going to deal him anyway.
  2. I can't even believe I logged in here today to see what was being said. I love this place, but its primary subject matter is an irritation I really don't want to deal with any longer. It's really feeling like the end for me. This ownership group has destroyed my love of this team.
  3. Whoever came up with the plan for getting fans in seats is getting fired. Because no fans are going to be in the seats.
  4. This is right. If you are in market you can get the Sabres games.... 48 hours after they happen. That's why I have Fubo and not nhl.tv
  5. How hard do you think he is trying at this point? Why would he be motivated? Teams are going to look at some players on this team and determine that if they had something to play for and they weren't handcuffed by the coach there might be very different results. Remember, it's not just US questioning what the Sabres are doing. Analysts, former captains, etc. are all wondering what the Sabres are doing.
  6. I wouldn't even do that as it gives money to the Pegulas. As far as I am concerned, they can get in their yacht and sail of the edge of the world.
  7. The week ends... and for various reasons my kids don't have anything going on this weekend. It's a free weekend. Now to figure out what to do with it.
  8. How about the language of reasons... there's always that if he doesn't like the excuses. 🙂
  9. How long is the average recovery from a bruised ego?
  10. Yeah.. I mean I wouldn't say its intentional, but ultimately its dirty. The team has no will at this point. I can't blame them. I've got less Fs than Timmeh at this point.
  11. Yep. A close contact. So now my son is stuck in the house until next Wed. He's tested negative but the process is the process. He'll miss a few things he really wanted to be part of so I hope this is a life lesson for him. This is why we preach the rules, even if we don't love them. At least we're not impacted, so I can still go out! 🙂
  12. https://www.forbes.com/sites/carolschram/2019/05/16/ralph-krueger-returns-to-the-nhl-as-coach-of-the-buffalo-sabres/?sh=4aef1ca370ce
  13. Arguing with the development team that we are not in production if you need to "test" something. It's not beta if there are no new features. AAAAAAND, if you are still working on the data architecture between two systems that may result in additional development then we never passed user acceptance testing and we're really still in development. Come on.. be a product owner, where they tell you that you are the CEO of your product... you just can't fire people. Also.. the Sabres play tonight. And we're waiting to hear if my son is considered "close contact" to another child who tested positive yesterday for COVID. One who went out of town for a weekend and never quarantined or was tested upon return. We found out that juicy nugget at 6:25am this morning. The close contact would be from Sunday morning and he tested positive Tuesday afternoon. I'd also like to go punch a few people for their actions.
  14. And has been reportedly on the hot seat as well.
  15. And what do you say to those who keep pointing out that Rutherford recommended Krueger to the Pegulas?
  16. I'm glad then. They are already throwing money around like it won't have major consequences on the economy. The theoretical value of the USD... I cannot wait. There are people who need COVID relief, but a lot of people who do not are going to get money. Just like a lot of companies who didn't need the PPP got money. The government sucks at these things.
  17. What I find curious is... Which players really like Ralph Krueger and have faith in him? Perhaps that's part of the problem here. Adams is trying to figure out how to move a coach and the players that might be a bit upset if that coach is removed. I'd also allow for some suspicion that certain players are not buying into things and that perhaps they believe that's the problem. If 3 of 5 players on the ice believe in the system the resultant output on the ice will not reflect that. Either way, it's a mess... a huge mess. It's certainly turning me off from hockey as a whole these days.
  18. I bet he goes by Andrew Amerk at home too. Onto less petty things.. If I were the GM and inclined to move on from my coach I'd be talking to some well respected coaches who are currently unemployed to join on for the remainder of the season to assist in evaluating the locker room and the players. If things work out perhaps there's an extension or at the end of the season perhaps that coach says, "Nah, too much work to do here." and is free to leave. I do think that if you move on from the coach it has to be all coaches at this point.
  19. You can... with expected results as Doc Brown showed.
  20. My bad... I only glanced at the screen briefly while watching my daughter play volleyball. I thought it was a forward.
  21. Man, that first goal. Risto trying to cross check Lee instead of tie up the stick. You can't do that. The second goal.. just barf. The third goal a lot like the one yesterday. No D man was anywhere near the net. They are running around lost.
  22. Happy Birthday! 78? Well done. Here's to many more! Gotta be nice having a child who's a chef... what's his specialty?
  23. I think, at this point, I would prefer to put Cozens at the 2C with Skinner and Reinhart and move Olofsson to the top line. Put Staal in at 3C, drop Okposo and figure out which of Lazar/Eakin are going to play wing for a bit. I like Bryson, but pairing him with Montour almost assuredly means that pairing will get caved in when they are on the ice. I would put Bryson with Risto.
  24. Absolutely. Sometimes you make a choice and it doesn't work out. All you can do is learn from it and hope to not repeat it. Sometimes it happens. Sometimes you have to be patient and accept you can't take action despite wanting to take action. You have to wait it out, because the actions you have available all have strong chances of making things worse, either immediately or in the near enough future to matter. The lack of taking action does not mean one is in agreement with the situation. Only that they believe the right action to take does not yet exist. I think it's better to think of the possible actions and see what's reasonably possible rather than just yell "Do something."
  25. Absolutely. Lasagna is best if it has a chance to sit. That's how my wife does it (she made it Friday for yesterday) and she learned that from her grandmother, who came here straight from Italy. 🙂 Lasagna is the meal I have on my birthday and the one my son has on his birthday. His birthday was Thursday but he had a hockey game. So be it. Also, I guess I will watch this game. I'm going to hate myself for it perhaps even more than I do the next morning when I hate myself for having just one more drink the night before.
