  1. Basically the Devils moved them for a 1st rounder... everything else is just balancing.
  2. In the vein of scheduling.. here in Rochester. URMC has appointments..tons of them. I just signed up this morning for later this afternoon and you could sign up right now and walk in at 9:15am if you wanted. Monroe County has spots open for theirs, Rochester Riverside CC has a TON of open spots, the other locations are a little more filled up. The state run site at Dome Arena (Pfizer) is the most booked but if you refresh that you can cancellations a few weeks out (some even same day). I didn't even bother going through Wegmans. I did it with URMC since I am a patient and it saved me having to enter all the insurance information, etc. They are Moderna in case anyone cares. To me it seems like if you want an appointment around here you can pretty much get one at will, right now.
  3. With or without the face?
  4. Exactly. That's the point of the quote. There is no such thing as luck. If you get analytical about anything you can find something that would explain how the outcome of a situation was impacted by a certain factor. If people want to call it "luck" that's fine but there is no such real thing. If I enter the lottery and win, it's not luck. It took a conscious action of entering a contest into which there was a sleight probability of me winning. Yet, there was a probability of that outcome and as such, am I "lucky" it happened? Sure, but it was a potential outcome, however improbable, that was only brought about by my preparation "the choosing to buy a ticket". Now, winning the lottery without ever entering, that would be something.
  5. "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." - Roman Philosopher, Seneca. In short, the Sabres are now preparing, through practice, to have the opportunity, through games, to improve their luck
  6. Makes you wonder if they might sit Hall. I would. Let's go "kid". Here's your shot, I hope you make some people's heads explode.
  7. Well, they could have left him on the bench for the 3rd I guess. What if they did not find out the information until the end of the 2nd?
  8. Right now I see a player making many smart moves. Holding the puck to let the ice open up, making slick little passes, all the things that go into the making of a solid NHL forward. He's not all the way there, he still has his moments, but a few games ago he hauled his butt on a back check the likes you rarely see any player do and that spoke volumes to me about where his head is at. It's the kind of break the Sabres need to be successful in the future.
  9. Just keep using the words controlled zone exits/entries... please... please. Now, just don't let the coach take that away from the player when they get to the NHL. 4 apples are nice, but I am far more interested in controlling the puck.
  10. The last time these two teams played the Rangers moved the puck around the Sabres D zone at will. I just hope that does not happen this time. Also, all the other teams have better goaltending and D right? We'll see.
  11. I mean, they are going to get some kind of draft pick for him. So it was 8 million well spent. 🙂
  12. isn't that what I said? You waive him and someone picks him up or he's buried in Rochester. Whether you waive him this year, next year, doesn't matter.
  13. Worst case scenario you waive him later on and someone else picks him up or he's buried in Rochester. Better case, you can move him for a 7th round pick in 2022. Best case, he makes your team better. They are about to move on from many defensemen, why not bring him in.
  14. I'm not going to subject myself to rewatching, but at the time that happened I am fairly certain that 3 of the Sabres were in Philly's zone when Philly cycled it back up the ice leading to the easy zone entry and game tying goal. It's an empty net, that means there are 6 opponents on the ice and the Sabres had 3 in the zone that were not near anyone. Complete mental breakdown. Even with the miss, no way the Sabres should have had 3 players in the offensive zone at that point in the game. The kid was hugging the back post like he's covering an EA Sports NHL cross-crease pass. The only problem is, no forward was there. He was out of position, again. You have him in front of Ullmark, I don't even give him that. I'm surprised you'd want more of me around. -------------- I had hope and that hope was smashed. You could see it coming. They froze up and choked it away. Losing 19 isn't going to change anyone's opinion of this team. Winning the next game won't either. This team is bad, scary bad, and it's not going to get better with more players being shipped out or tuning out further than they already have.
  15. But if that happens I think the entire world will know that Pegula hasn't just been a bad owner but will continue to be the problem for the Sabres organization. I honestly don't think Pegula can afford to NOT remove himself in this case. It's that or he's going to need to sell the team and hope his antics with the Sabres don't tarnish his value with the Bills.
  16. Yup. He's awesome too. Not sure how he is in Mighty Ducks but I love him in Letterkenny.. then again I love pretty much everything about Letterkenny.
  17. Seriously. It always felt like the US citizens were being trolled. Now I just feel like Sabres fans are.
  18. I saw it in my first post and questioned myself. Then I came across dis thread and glad to have read it. I certainly was entertained when PA tried to use T.H.E.M. and the subsequent edit. I needed a good chuckle and I have been given it. Also then should be added.... dis dat dey dem den da dose dese. 🙂 Absolutely just made reading the forum a treat today.
  19. Lost power in the middle of a meeting dat I did not want to be in. Happy Friday to me.
  20. The player tried to avoid Hutton but it's hard to do when you have #55 restricting your movements. Even when they ended up over Hutton he was making every attempt to keep himself up on his feet and hands so as to not by lying on Hutton. If Risto doesn't try and tackle him it's likely he jumps to the side of Hutton... but he couldn't because Risto was on him.
  21. Isn't the most likely scenario here? Tokarski starts Houser is the backup UPL is on the taxi squad Ullmark is out Ullmark comes back and then Houser goes to taxi squad and UPL goes back to Rochester. Why do people have UPL in the lineup for tonight's game?
  22. Well, okay then. I'll see what the score is when I get home (a little after the game starts) and go from there. I already paid for Fubo for another month, so I might as well tune in. They fired Krueger at the right time to keep me locked in.
  23. I would never say that no ref has made up a call. However, with anything that is subjective there are moments where you can let things pass or you can call them. I think most refs intend to do the right thing. They may make a call that upon further review they realize might not have been the call that should have been made. They don't have the option of reversing the call at that point. They move forward and in their head they think, I'll even it out by calling something else that is probably a penalty that I might not have called. I don't think this is unique to officiating either. Officials are human and if they have a sense of fair play to them then they are likely going to want to balance things out as any person would. Similarly, if someone is irritating them they are likely going to be biased, either consciously or unconsciously towards that person. This happens everywhere. I can only imagine how society would operate if everyone was on a hot mic and didn't know it. Right now I am sure there are people reading this saying some wonderfully colorful things about me. 🙂
  24. Another soul returns... I don't want them to trade Eichel unless they can get a few good players back. I don't think even one is enough.
  25. The Rangers appear to be playing much better with the Hartford Wolves coaching staff behind the bench and the Quinn and his crew out with COVID. And Panarin is back, so I think that helps them as well. But, the Sabres still lack the talent to challenge teams. The defense remains soft and the team lacks speed.
