My vote is Zach is relatively healthy all season and misses a few games once or twice during the season to a minor injury, just like nearly every other player in the league.

Headed out to the local brew pub in 20 minutes. Buying the kid his first legal beer with dinner. Then we;re off to my regular watering hole. Not sure what the bartender has in store for him, but she knows he's coming. It's funny hearing him tell people he's going out drinking with his dad for his 21st.

Mine turns 21 today. I think that means I can officially abdicate any responsibility now.

Mu question in the form of a letter was apparently an aborted attempt at what was posted the second time. No idea how that happened. I blame Apple. Noone should have a home without brats in storage.

Prediction time: which under-the-radar guy will make the NHL roster?

I could see Smith being the first call up. -
Y You spell "brats" funny. I mean, if you are going to douse a tube of meat in mustard, make it something really tasty.

Spent the morning fishing in my kayak. Hit up a lake about 20 minutes south of me. Had a helluva morning. Drifted a mud flat in 14-18 feet of water. Early in the AM the bluegills wouldn't leave my bait alone. They were some of the biggest bluegills I've ever caught. Couldn't stretch my hand to get a grip from back to belly on some of them. Pigs. Then the gills stopped hitting and the perch showed up. All told I probably boated 30 fish this morning. Really wish I had brought a cooler with me. Would have made a helluva fish fry. About 11 the rain moved in and a steady breeze picked up. Of course, I was traveling into that breeze to get back to the launch. By the time I made the dock my shoulders and triceps were burning. I'm hoping I'll be able to do it again tomorrow before the holiday crowds get on the lake.

Have today and tomorrow off for vacation days. that's not the complaint. the complaint is, I left an Outlook out of office message indicating that I am on vacation until Tuesday. A customer emailed me this morning, which means they received the out of office message. They followed up with a voice mail at my desk phone which also has the same out of office message. So, not content to stop there, they called my cell and left a voice message. They want me to arrange to come into the office tomorrow so they can come in and do some product testing. I don't think so. People in business settings suck.

Wasn't that the season he admitted to giving up at the end of the season and missed a performance bonus because of it? I think there is more to be disappointed about than the injury.

When they cease to be entertaining I cease to be interested.

Heh. I was referring to the other Buffalo team at 5 yrs. Other than the playoff game last season, I haven't made time on a Sunday for the Bills a priority in at least 10 years.
-
It's surprisingly short when you don't watch. I'm amazed at where the last 5 years have gone.
-
yup. Definitely lacked substance.

I know, right? That was a softball you laid out there.

Anothet last place team? Man, that would be awful.

It’s crazy that a fan is disappointed because a hyped savior now into a mega contract has not fulfilled the hype? No, it’s not. You may have a different standard is all.

It's not a crazy post. You can appreciate the talent and lament the woe is me attitude that is on display. It is valid criticism. Vanek was saddled with it after Drury and Briere left, and deservedly so. In some part it speaks to the lack of maturity that you mention in your last sentence. But it is also a function of personality. Vanek was plenty mature and continued to have that reaction. I'm hoping that is a part of Jack's personality that changes.

How long do you want to hurt?

Good thing you said me and not Randall. He’s not ready to admit he’s me yet.

Stories like these lead me to support taking much of the violence outof the game. I cringe at some of the hits/fights I cheered for in the past. These guys are human. I’m not interested in viewing them as gladiators any more.

Jonathan Martin begs to differ.

Along those lines, back maybe 20-25 yrs ago I was at the Buffalo auto show standing in the concession line and two guys behind me were talking shop. From the conversation I gathered that one of the two was in sales at Sahlen's and he was telling the other that Sahlen's has several grades of dog and that the Sahlen's dogs you were buying in the grocery store were not typically the same as the ones you were buying at a hot dog joint. I seem to recall him saying that there were more than one grade offered at retail and that on sale Sahlen's may not be the same grade as the one's you were getting at higher price during non sales. FWIW

Lima and HFL are right next to each other. It could be either. I work in HFL. It's a looong commute. But I love the job. I frequently have customers in for final acceptance of equipment purchases. There are usually significant production run offs of the equipment. Time is important so I usually order in food for our customers instead of taking them out for lunch. HFL restaurants have very slow service. If I didn't order salads frequently I'd have another 20lbs on the 40 lbs too much frame I'm carrying already. I do miss Guidas pizzas. The single slices were almost 1/4 of a pie. I'm not a fan of HFL distillery's whiskey so I don't stop in. I do drive by it every day on the way home from work, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't look at the place every day and consider pulling in anyway.

Nasty storm rolled through. Interwebs are down. But it did give us an wxcuse to order Chinese for dinner, so there is that.

Apparently you live nearby my employer. Ruck’s makes a mean salad for lunch.
