"The Sabres are going to be VERY good"
Weave replied to SabresFanInRochester's topic in The Aud Club
We all know that Boston and Tampa are much better constructed. MUCH better. There is no question. So there isn’t much explanation for our wins other than they were playing down to us. They are both SCF favoritesin many eyes. Our game hasn’t improved that much. It can’t. -
Well, I was going to go if I could get a tix in the cheap seats. My son got tix today and said cheap seats were gone. He really wanted to go and sprung for the high dollar seats to make it happen. My wife went halvsies with him and its my Dads Day gift now. So Momma’s Mothers Day gift just got expensive for me. Oh! You mean the Uber cost. Yeah, that’ll be worth it too.

Even then we were complaining about wins. Nothing much has changed. -

No idea. I'm not proposing it as fact. But I'm not discounting the idea either. It's not unlike those glorious runs to 9th place. ETA- Boston and Tampa are a level of magnitude more deeply talented than Buffalo. What other theories shall we propose for why they lost to us several times this season? I'm hard pressed to believe that the makeup of our team is somehow accidentally a poor match up for those two. -
Then why the hell are we icing 6-8 AAA players every game?

The questions of success in garbage time and being taken lightly by the best teams are still in play. Yes, they've looked better recently. Is it because they ARE better, or is it because the teams they face assume they are a joke? -
Way too Early Look at Seattle 2020 Expansion Draft

Same response. -
My son gave me an early Father's Day gift today. Tix to see Metallica in KBC in October. And my son turns 21 a month prior, so I won't have an automatic DD anymore. I wonder what an Uber will cost me back and forth from KBC to nowhere?

Way too early. We can't possibly have a read on how valuable these kids might be by then. -
Drier air was the need, not necessarily colder. Although drier does feel colder. I've been to KBC 0 times in the last 5ish years, so I'm only relating other people's comments.
-
Sounds like an uncomfortable 30 dayish cycle.
-
At the prices they are charging, they can do more to make the audience area more comfortable yet keep ice quality decent. The beat guys are pretty consistently saying that KBC is one of the 3 or so coldest arenas in the league. It is colder than Calgary and Edmonton fer cripes sake. It's bad enough the place is in need of repair and the team sucks. They can make their paying guests comfortable.

That gave me a funny.

I am sure they have online tools as well. It is their business to know the makeup of a neighborhood.

You'd be surprised by the number of rental properties in those areas. Demand that your realtor identifies rentals in the neighborhood you are considering so you know what is there. They won't be apartments, or even doubles, that are being rented, they are houses. So they won't be obvious in a drive by.

I'll second checking out the rental situation. IME it is a big factor in quality of life issues. Neighborhoods with a high percentage of rentals tend to have quality of life issues. Noise, petty crime, indifferent neighbors, less than well maintained properties, etc.

There is alot of local rule. NY law requires only that assessed values are done equitably. Some communities re-assess at time of sale, and your purchase price will likely be the new assessed value. Other communities do it on a schedule. And others have their own pattern of determining assessed value. And I think some communities still don't use 100% for tax purposes, so you have that variable as well. I would go in assuming your assessed value will be the greater of current assessed value or your purchase price.

Repeated ad nauseum.... It is NOT foot speed, it is pace of play. ROR and Sam and O’Poso are very good in this league when a fast pace is maintained. They don’t need to be fast, they need to be constantly in motion and making quick decisions. -
Hamilton quoting O'Reilly: What's "very likely"?
Weave replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
Yup. And I’m sure there is a lasting effect because of it. I strongly suspect it would change me negatively as well. Not only have we had some “interesting” dialog here when the pro media types have chimed in, our very own rookie pro media type flamed out in grand fashion here as well. I think the personality for that job may be prone to that reaction on social media. Maybe it is something in the syllabus. -
I wonder if the context wasn't, he's only coming out if he's in the NHL.

I trust Kris Baker's opinion. He feels that, while Casey demonstrates that he's a top prospect when he plays against his age group, he's not showing enough of that dominance against college age competition to assume that he is ready for the NHL now.
