There is only space for one all O and no D defenseman. I’m changing my Wooley pick to a player with a little more to offer on out side of the ice, but can still play point on PP very effectively. Spacek it is, shading out Galley by a bit.

Until the reality of the last two seasons kicked in, they were still expected to be untouchable. Ovie may not pass Gretz, but the idea that it is even being bandied about is pretty incredible. We all figured those records wouldn't be touched. Different eras and all that. yet here we are. And Ovie doesn't drive his team's play? Seriously? He's one of 2-3 wingers in the league during his career that could and did.

I agree with this. I do not have optimism regarding Casey. I am decidedly neutral on his possibilities. For me, at this point if he develops into a good NHL'er it is a bonus, because we shouldn't be planning on it.

Abso-freaking-lutely. We can't afford to gamble on any of our C prospects. Get a real 2C, and if we end up with too many of them I am sure there is a market for one of them if we really can't plug two of them into the roster somehow. By the time Cozen and Mitts are developed and showing they are a legit top half of the league 2C Jack will be 26 or 27 and more than half his expected career will be over.

Well, it does say "in their prime", so those 2.5 seasons weigh heaviest. and prime Soupy contributed way more to an excellent Sabres team, including playoff performance, than Housley ever did, Housley was never not a controversial Sabre.

I think it has to be Ovie. He’s at the top of the scoring lists every freaking year for like ever. Isnt he chasing Gretsky’s goal total now? Hes been flat out dominant for his entire career, which we can now call a long career.
