  1. Well thats just it. If you are going to fully “correct” the Sabres record for injuries, you need to do it to all of their opponents too. I’m guessing the difference in standings is marginal.
  2. There is a ways to go before it feels like that. They’ll need to keep going for more than 3 weeks.
  3. And the worst part is, you know he’s been holding onto that one for awhile, waiting for the right moment. Nope, nope. Not the right moment. No, not that one either. Mayybeee…. Nope, not yet. And then last night happens, he drops it, and everyone is like:
  4. And shame on all of those declaring him generational as a 17-18yr old.
  5. It might be about a specific talent and mindset as much as a teachable technique.
  6. In fairness, Twitter also put this out… Hes a completely different player right now.
  7. I think it did a reasonably good job of portraying what I remember from the book. Better than the previous attempts for sure. I enjoyed it.
  8. It would be much more efficient if you said “Inky” is lazy today
  9. I got 2 LOLs for this. Wasn’t meant to be funny at all.
  10. Had family in Sloan. I’m not convinced they were worried about Germans moving in.
  11. It figures that we’re as healthy as reasonable expected and I won’t be able to watch. McDavid Won’t
  12. You wonder how much of this was in the scouting reports? Would explain GMTMs very visible disappointment. No *****?
  13. She got loose again this evening. Our rescue mutt snuck through a door while we had it open to step outside. She bolted through and raced down the street. I received the frantic call from my wife when I was about 1 mile from home, returning from the office. She lost sight of the dog about 4 blocks from the house. We spent an hour crisscrossing the neighborhood trying to find her. About 7pm I found her in someone’s side yard 1 street over from where my wife lost sight of her. She came when called, but immediately went into catch me if you can mode. I knew not to chase her, and got her to follow me by simply walking away and giving her encouragement. A neighbor stepped out to see what the excitement was about. I asked him if he would open his backyard gate so I could lure her into his fenced yard. He did, And I got her to follow me into the fenced yard. Eureka! She was a muddy mess and got one hell of a bath when we got home. She’s snuggling with Mom now. That one is an escape artist. I need a cocktail.
  14. Something, something, narrative, something….
  15. Girgensons is not, and never was, a player who needs a “fresh start”. His attitude, demeanor, and effort had always been 100%. That should never be the stated motivation for moving him.
  16. I did listen. I expect there would be fans brutalizing him. It's the players doing it that raised an eyebrow for me.
  17. For me, it comes down to is the mentoring and possible winning more valuable to the kids we have now than the pick is going to be later? There is alot of value in the mentoring, and alot of value in finishing the season strong.
  18. Yeah, it is rather apparent that a lot of his former teammates don''t have alot of respect for him.
  19. I dunno. The wood Hespeler in my basement didn’t have a flex rating.
  20. I thought that too, but after listening to the post game interviews I am changing my mind regarding just how good guys like Eakin are in the room. He was praised very highly in the one interview in particular. Like, they went out of their way to give it.
  21. The old days included credible government threats to family. It very effectively kept Russian athletes in Russia right up until the wall in Germany came down. After Mogilny’s defection, there was a time where he was exhibiting bizarre behavior, like not traveling with the team due to a sudden fear of flying. There was more than a little speculation that he was receiving threats from the Motherland.
