Yes. Definitely a possibility. Getting a few NHL games in at the end of the season is frequently used as a sweetener to get college prospects to sign early.
We’ve seen players go out with injuries that become long injuries for the entire duration of the Era of Suckitude. My theory is the team is consciously choosing to not rush them back because winning isn’t a priority.
My preference is definitely for a helpful player that another team can no longer afford. I’ll take an overpriced but still good player as long as the remaining term isn’t hurtful.
But I am open to a 1yr cap dump for a pick/prospect.

Ive had 4 or 5 of them. The first was large enough that it became an obstruction so they had to go in and get it. Roto-Rooter is NOT FUN! The others were fine, but a miserable experience nonetheless.
Drink tons of water and hope it passes quickly.
