Murray from Prow and JJ -
Let's just hope this was more than just Bob Murray yelling at people because that would be a rather weak reason for him to be forced to resign.
-
Had he not been a freak of nature with his physical attributes and not shown in the World Championship that he could play with NHLers at a high end level; Eklund may have squeezed by him for the Sabres.

What we’ve learned from the Jack Eichel conclusion
thewookie1 replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I’d lean on this side more than Terry wanting Eichel to suffer. If Eichel does end up having a serious problem due to the surgery; how would the Sabres ownership live with themselves for giving into Eichel’s demands again. -
I do like hearing we’ve kicked tires on Korpisalo; essentially we still need a goalie for the next 2 to 3 years. If UPL comes up and ousts the guy, that’s great. Otherwise we need at least 2 more years for Levi and Portillo to be NHL call up ready at least with 1 season minimum of AHL time. Tokarski isn’t a bad back up at this point but I certainly do not want to assume he’s anything more than an ok backup option. Anderson will almost assuredly retire after this season and UPL has turned into a pumpkin so far this year so I can’t count on him at all.

Perhaps Kevyn hoped he could get Reinhart to stick around regardless of Jack and the past. If he were on the fence, Adams may have hoped to get him to shake off onto our side. -
I'm curious if he'll get a brick

I could of sworn Granato said that he’d be back for Friday’s game -

Tage's problem was he'd lose the puck in-between his legs or deke too often until he gave it away. Plus he was weak on his stick which made him a very large puff ball with the puck. He's calmed his innate desire to undress every player around him and no longer looks slow when given some space to work with. Plus he's finally using his reach in all situations instead of merely using it to stretch pucks further out from his body. -

I get the underlying feeling Gionta still harbors a genuine distaste for GMTM undercutting his leadership before he could even establish anything. Effective Murray chucked a grenade into the locker room before they even had a chance to get started building a group. Probably the only sign of Gionta's effect left on the team is Girgensons whom he got to help mentor for a bit. I will always point out that Murray built the roster for McDavid, not Eichel. He acquired Kane to be his power forward whereas he always ended up in Eichel's way due to their similar styles of entering the zone; and we all know McDavid wouldn't of followed Kane's example due to him being a basic Canadian kid. Eichel on the other hand was a risk taker, liked a good party and hit it off with Kane almost immediately. What Eichel needed was a bunch of boring vets who preached hard work and practice. That no matter how good you are, you are still only one part of a greater team and don't have any off-ice "perks" with being the best. Kane seemingly felt that as long as he showed up to games and put up points; he had carte blanche to do what ever he wanted. -

Just checked, we have 36 GF, 36 GA and 12 points in 12 games I guess we are the epitome of mediocre lol -

Pretty much a game we lost due to a lack of skill; they got 3 deflection goals and a goal scorer's goal. Not much you can do about that. We got 3 goals again so that's a good thing. Dahlin wasn't a train wreck in his own zone -
I wouldn't trade for him but I'd send out some feelers when he's a UFA if he continues to be impactful.
-
Well good news is they are actually scoring goals
-
Yes it shouldn’t of counted; add that to the endless list of screw ups done against us. can someone please teach Dahlin how to use the body again. After taking a bunch of penalties to start he seems extremely hesitant to even make contact. Call up the mule and put him with Dahlin, his defensive confidence is shot
-
Well they are different players; they produce at a similar rate but have different manners of accomplishing their work. Reinhart was generally a passer and cerebral player Tuch uses his speed to create space and cause breakdowns. The one thing Tuch has over Reinhart is an infectious type of play that can spread amongst his teammates regardless of skill level. Reinhart’s highlights are golf clappers and thoughtful. Tuch’s highlights are rowdy cheering that get you wildly flailing your arms. Both are great; wish we had both

Connor McDavid goal that deserves it’s own thread
thewookie1 replied to SDS's topic in The Aud Club
Not easy for sure, but 4 v 1; the 4 should always win lol. Maybe 1 or 2 should collapsed in on him and either stood him up or at least make him do some other ridiculous deke. That defensive play was comically bad. Ranger 1: ”Hey, the best player in the world is coming at us, what should we do?” Ranger 2: “Let’s flail our sticks at him; that’s bound to work” Ranger 3 “Great idea” Ranger 4 “How are our flailing sticks not stopping him!?” -
Good luck Jack but I can’t wish a Cup for you until we are out of the ditch. To be honest I hope his surgery goes well, he gets a few years with Vegas, gets a Cup in a few years and then has to retire due to wear on his ADR being concerning. Then I never have to hate him as a Bruin and the Sabres’ concerns are vindicated.
-
The injuries keep piling on for us; with our full compliment of players this would be a very winnable game. But without Olofsson, Mitts and Anderson I really don’t like our odds.
-
That would be my biggest question; if he didn’t try or gave nothing more than a cursory attempt Friedman is truly no more than a mouthpiece versus a journalist.

Connor McDavid goal that deserves it’s own thread

It might be sad but I can never enjoy McDavid highlights due to the lottery. Every time he does something otherworldly I just feel cheated -
Dahlin needs a D partner who can play defense and help him work through his growing pains. Dahlin is far from a lost cause as you can still see occasional flashes of his talent. He needs assistance to get his confidence back. Cozens is similar in that he needs help but more so in settling him down; he wants to win the game on every early shift and over plays the puck by trying to be Pavel Datsyuk instead of Logan Couture.

Anyone else think its funny that Toronto is offering Holl, the guy they made trades to protect, up for trade now?
