I agree I have been saying this for awhile now. I think LaFontaine wanted to keep several veterans last season but I think the plan was already in play between Pegula,Murray, Devine, the scouts and Ted Black. I think they didn't want to change the plan and that's why LaFontaine decided to bail. Because he knew it would take this team to a new low with no guarntee of putting together a Stanley Cup contender.

When I went to Anaheim and Los Angeles I thought Zemgus was Buffalo's best player he just does it all and he seems like he always in the right spots.

He actually played here in Las Vegas in the ECHL. He was solid when he was here. The other guys we had here I Vegas were Adam Cracknell and Deryk Engelland. We were Calgary flames farm team at one time.

Crazy thing here in Las Vegas their is supposedly talk between MGM and the nhl for expansion. Their is not enough hockey fans here in Las Vegas to support an nhl team. They could support a Basketball or a major league soccer team but nhl team is a big fat negative. I know the casino would use tickets for high rollers and other specials but I just don't seeing it working here. The cities that should get an expansion team is one that can actually keep the stands full.

I agree we need players but how many teams are going to send us a decent player that is young and on the upswing especially the wat the guys are currently performing. I'm guessing Murray wants the core of this team the last two drafts and this one coming up with a sprinkle of veterans for leadership until the kids are ready to resume that role. Like others said u can't move every decent player for picks because we need players now not 3-5 years. I do expect Stafford, Stewart, Mezaros, and possibly Benoit could be moved by the deadline. Out of all my years watching the Sabres I thought last year was bad but this team is much worse. I don't think Murray lets his contract expire and let's him walk for nothing. I agree we need players but it might be better to throw him in on a trade for a seasoned prospect

This team could possibly be one one the worst ever. They can't even score. I didn't watch but I'm glad I didn't. I'm just glad Carolina won. This team should finish last overall. They are that bad. Not enough shots and how many times have they been shut out already this season.

I agree at least they will be entertaining and Kaleta will be added to the PK unit.

Carolina even though we beat them they were without their key players. Right now they aren't getting outshot like we are and at least have a few players to build around with both Staal's and Skinner.

And how would most of you feel that if the Leafs or any other team missed the playoffs by one point and finished 14th and they win the lottery and draft McDavid. Its a stupid system.

If I still lived in Buffalo their is no way I buy season seats to watch this squad. As much of a diehard Sabres fan I am it's painfully bad to watch. I knew it was going to be this way when the total rebuild started. Even as bad as expansion teams are this team seems worse than an expansion squad. I'm not talking about prospects and picks coming I'm just talking about this team they fielded. Even expansion teams can score more than this squad.

U can call it what u want conspiracy theories or not but no one sees the lottery done live on tv as the balls are getting pulled. I just don't like the fact that all non-playoff teams have a shot at the 1st overall pick when u have teams that clearly are in need of help. I don't like that a team that just barely misses the playoffs could land that pick when a team that's way worse is in dire need of that kind a player . NFL draft has it right. Not many teams tank on purpose and it's been all over Buffalo about tanking. Come on even when I was in Cali Sabres fans talking it's all about McDavid. Plus when was the last time anything has worked out for the city of Buffalo? Bills 0-4, Sabres 0-2. Starting to look like the Cubs.

The Islanders are a much improved team and barring any injuries I think they make the playoffs. St Louis is and will get better and will make it in. It's all up to us Now.

Living out west I can honesty tell u that with as many Hispanics living and migrating everywhere in the US that soccer is going to be on the rise. It's cheap and only need a ball and a park to play in. Out in Vegas I have seen tons of soccer fields piping up since I moved here back in 89.

Markets like Carolina, Florida and Arizona need help to sell tickets. This is part of the reason why I don't think we land McDavid. Yes I know their is a lottery ball system but it's not like your seeing it done in front of you. Plus u don't think the NHL isn't hip to what is going on in Buffalo. They ain't even worth watching this year. It's pathetic and just think if u were a player. It's like u go into every game knowing your gonna lose but just by how much. I was unable to watch the game due to work but it looks like I didn't miss much. Outshot almost 4 to 1. Wow that's really bad. Like I said before this team is by far the worst in the league I just don't understand how San Jose didn't even show up to play us. Carolina needs to start winning and pulling away because it's becoming only a two team race. I personally like the college kids we have coming. I know they might not be ready for alittle while but I think they are going to be huge for us in the future. I'm talking Compher, Fausching, Hurley, and Floretino.

I don't think we are moving that 2016 first rounder now that we are hosting the draft. Unless we get another thru a trade. Even if we land McDavid it's still going to be bad next year. It's not a playoff team. I still think we have all this season and next before u see major improvement. They are all about giving the kids time to develop that won't be a need to rush these kids anymore. This is like an expansion team right now with a lot of picks. I can totally see why he doesn't want anymore picks because eventually you need roster players. Picks are gonna be 1-3 years to develop and I don't think fans want to see 3 more years of this $hit! It's going to be interesting to see how this season all plays out with the expiring contracts.

That would complete the tank for the year. Risto is fine. I like how he's developing but I have to agree give the kid some power play time to see what he can do.
