I'm not a fan of Porter or Sulzer but I would rather the youngsters get a ton of ice in whatever league they get sent back down to and learn the game and improve there before coming back to the NHL. Did I happen to mention how happy I am that Regier and Rolston are finally gone! I have been wanting Pegs to get rid of Regier since he took the team over. Don't get me wrong he got a lot of value out of some the players he recently traded the last 2 seasons but he was here way too long and his tenure on this team was getting old. More of a reason why Darcy should have been let go sooner. Never really addressed any of the Center needs until way too late!

Grigs can't be sent down to Rochester! I thought it was junior or nothing. Zadorov needs to go back to London and Risto needs time in Rochester.

I think Ted is a good hire and I thought he did a great job with what he had to work with. It's funny that the first guy that comes to mind with Patty is Ted Nolan. Come on Pat was a world class player so he must have thought very highly of him as a coach. Think what you want of him. Past is the Past. He will get more out of these guys the Rolston!

I couldn't agree more. I'm sure some might not be happy about Ted coming back but I'm more than thrilled with him coming back. I met Ted in Las Vegas after the Kings Colorado game and he deserves another shot at coaching in the NHL. I liked him when he coached the Sabres.

I don't buy it. He coached the Islanders as well. I like Ted and it seemed like they played hard under him for what he had to work with.

I agree I'm a big fan of Teddy. I think it's an interim spot to see how this team does under him and if it goes well then it's long term

I think Ted will get the players to play hard more than Rolston did. You don't bench your only scorers and expect to win games.

No one should be complaining about either one of these guys. I think Ted Nolan will get more out of this current squad than Rolston and the hiring of Lafontaine for hockey operations and the firing of Darcy just made my day. I have been waiting for Regier to get fired for a very long time now.

What Ted Nolan said is so true about this team. Is he needs them to compete which right now isn't at all.

I think Devine and the scouts have done a good job. I like the hiring of Ted Nolan.

Me personally after watching the Sabres blue and gold with Devine. Devine seemed set at Risto at 8 and then another scout mentioned Zadorov at 16. I'm thinking the scouting staff has a huge input in these picks. I highly doubt Regier is watching a lot of these kids on tape.

Well no one wants Stafford and that 4mil that he's making. That being said Ennis and Vanek are there go to shooters in the shoot out. Good thing is this team won't get many shoot outs so they don't have to worry about using Stafford much. But hopefully Stafford gone by deadline.

I'm curious to see what Vanek does now with a true #1center. I think Vanek is one of the best pure scorers in the game and now he gets to play with someone that has some serious skill. Should be interesting. They need to give that scout that wanted Zadorov a raise. It seemed like they were set on Ristolainen when Zadorov might actually be the better player. This is exactly the things the scouts can't miss on with all these future picks. They have the next few years to scout all these youngsters big time, they should all be eat, sleep, drink all these junior games finding the right players. Nothing but time on their hands these scouts have.

The move had to be made but it still doesn't change my feeling for Darcy! He still needs to be Shitcanned when all these unrestricted players are gone. If I were a betting man I would bet against Buffalo every game this season. They have shown me nothing up front besides Hodgson. Which now says Stafford is your big gun. Wow that's scary!

I still believe this team won't be a playoff team at least 3-5 years maybe more. This team right now is just awful. Losing Vanek will hurt Hodgson in the short term. This is only the beginning. Once Miller, Ott and Moulson gets moved you are like an expansion team with a ton of picks.

U do realize they will suck next year as well! These youngsters still need developing. See Edmonton. 3-4 years at least.

Problem is they have to win the draft lottery and there is no guarantee that happens.

Yes it's great Darcy is loading up on picks but this is being said this is a weak draft class so all these picks don't mean much. Plus by the time u develop any of these players in 3-4 years. This is going to be a very long rebuild!

Devine is head of scouting and is in charge of all these picks. This gives the scouts more ammo to do there job. They can't afford to miss on these 1st and 2nd rounders. They really need to load up for the 2015 draft. If they don't land the 1st pick for McDavid that year they have to throw a lot of these extra picks for him. I think we will play in Buffalo when he's close to the end of his career. I don't see him leaving Chicago if he ever leaves.
