  1. Agree with you about rebound control, but ain't nobody crashing his net hard and coming out with their nose and/or jewels intact!
  2. Didn't follow the GD thread at all but watched entire game on NBCSN. I thought this was one of the Sabres best games of the year, despite the result. Good goaltending, adequate defense, and snake bitten on offense, shut down by the King at his best. If they played like this every night, we'd be ahead of the Bruins in the standings and this board would be blowing up! Now, if they could stop the bipolar good game / bad game, we'd be on our way ‼️
  3. But it's hard to make hockey trades in today's NHL...
  4. They'll beat the Rangers on Thursday. Nothing more to see tonight.
  5. Don't worry, the Leafs are not making the playoffs!
  6. Don't you think that would have been close to the number yesterday, IF it were a home game? :P
  7. Apathy has replaced optimism for a large contingent of the loyal fan base, and this is so sad to see. The Sabres will always be my team; they were on TV here and although I had nothing really pressing to do, I didn't watch a minute. I went to the gym and made much better use of my time. WTF do Murray and Bylsma think they're doing, putting out a putrid product like this? Come on, Terry, keep on your roll and make it two HC firings in one week! And another thing. Living among all of these obnoxious Boston sports fans, do you think for one minute they'd tolerate what we have to put up with? And they'd be right, for once! C'mon, Buffalo brethren, rise up and be heard!
  8. Agree. Grant >>Ellis Another indication of how far we've come!
  9. Couldn't watch the game but vicariously feeling the juice through all of you! Awesome!!! Question: how in the world does Adam Larsson take a holding penalty at the end of regulation?
  10. Agree that they are in no way tanking, but really?? The number and nature of injuries to this team are ridiculous, but they do not happen to every team. I have no theory as to why, but this team is snake bitten with injuries. Because Buffalo? :wallbash:
  11. Hey, facts are hard to argue against. It's not just yesterday's game we're talking about. Until the Sabres can beat the Bruins regularly, we ain't going anywhere!
  12. Excellent point! To me, Boston is the measuring stick for the progress of the rebuild. Not Toronto, not Ottawa, but the (not so) Big (not so) Bad Bruins. It's not as acute as the Patriotis that afflicts the Bills, but the Sabres too often look flat, or intimidated, or I don't know what when facing the Bruins. Boston is very well coached but talent-wise not as good as the Sabres. They are a team we need to jump over and dominate if the ascent of the Sabres is going to happen.
  13. What about October 23, 2010? Navy 35 Notre Dame 17 Pretty sure that was a regulation win
  14. How about the Buffalo Ralphs? As in, "...The Bills make me want to Ralph" OK, I'll go back to lurking!
  15. What a great man he was. Quick story epitomizing how down to earth he was: My son was about 12 and we were on vacation in Siesta Key about 20 years ago. He comes back to our condo and tells me he just spent time with a group of other people in the hot tub and one used to be a hockey player. Son had never heard of him ( yes it was #9) but said he was really cool and talked with him for quite a while about everything and nothing. When I told my son who he was, and many considered him the best ever, he said to me, "But he was just such a nice guy..." RIP Mr. Hockey
  16. With the Pens kicking butt like they are, does this mean that GMTM needs to change the blueprint for the Sabres' rebuild? In other words, make them less like the Kings and instead go for more speed? After all, every other GM seems to copy the current top dog...
  17. Speed kills! Pens can pinch and pressure the puck knowing they can cover most misses by beating the Sharks in foot races. Sharks defense is terrible this series. Polak and Dillon are liabilities, and Braun isn't much better. Even Vlasic looks pedestrian. They have more trouble keeping the puck in at the blue line than any pro team I've seen in a long time, and Pitt's offensive zone time is ridiculous much of the time. Really not a Penguins fan, but I am very impressed by their run this year. They're making a pretty good team look quite awful.
  18. My insider tells me that New Belgium's Citradelic Tangerine IPA is great, and the Rampant double IPA is quite good also. Coming your way tomorrow in NY state!
  19. I came to this topic looking for an update on RORs injury and projected return. Guess I have the wrong thread...
  20. So far Leo Komarov looks like he belongs in this game about as much as John Scott does!
  21. Hate the team he plays for, but man is Patrice Bergeron a great player!
  22. Why not just buy a Powerball ticket? It's over $400M this week :flirt:
  23. Bigger pants didn't keep Miller from totally flubbing the glove save that cost the 'Nucks their game last night!
