Dude you misread me, TN I said probably needed to go because he wasnt a Murray guy. But my concern is for Murray and his GM style. TN has his faults and i am ok that TM thought he wasnt a good fit or not my guy, but say that, dont try and justify it with lame allusion to being better. I think it would have been great to have PLF, Murray and TN on the same page. PLF under estimated Murray's ability and desire to go behind his back to take control and at that point TN's days were numbered. Anything less than that is disengenious. The question I have is after all that hardball can Murray produce guys past the first round and deal with anyone not is not a lap dog as a coach. Conscensus building takes work but tends to get everyone going together. Fiefdoms tend to implode... Would Babcock actually want to coach under Murray?

Really, Lemieux said he wanted to be treated like a 1st rounder after not getting drafted, Balls and Mess I agree with except Murray said he expected Sabres to be better as an excuse for getting rid of Nolan... My problem is we went from a wishy washy guy Darcy, to someone that has no loyalty or integrity.

True most of my arguments stem from the fact that I don't think very highly of Murray and question his handling of PR...so what. Still was Lemieux and Kane is an iffy proposition and I really want the Sabres to move forward in a linear upward fashion after so much linear downslope. I don't want maybes and fits and starts and Murray's so called lauded draft acumen has yet show fruition, maybe not to be expected. This begs the question, why are so few 2nd rounders not NHL talent? Why is it such a crap shoot. Is it that hard to tell if these guys have talent and or will develop into something... could be the answer like evaluating offensive skill or looking for good QBs is a crap shoot after the first round. Weird that other positions are not so tough to find useable talent.

My frustration with Murray is two fold. 1. I didn't like the way LaFontaine was handled... my grudge. Some of you think that it goes with the territory and LaFontaine misjudged the situation and walked away in a huff... fine and probably true to an extent but only because Murray doesn't appear to play well with others either unless you are his lap dog. 2. I think the way he handled Lemieux and now the Nolan situation is indicative of the kind of style he puts forward as a GM. His Uncle, while in DC was very much that way, couldn't handle the press, and got really prickly when confronted with questions about his mistakes. He didn't take any blame for his actions. Then bailing on his mistake about Lemieux, despite what he said, and shipping him off to Winnipeg. Finally, if you are going to lie, make it plausible or just don't say anything. Smile and pull a Marshawn Lynch.... Everyone says is a great judge of talent... Mess and Balls worked out great! (Sarcasm) Got us 30th, which is good in my book... but bad according to Murray, so which is it. Just saying, Murray leaves a lot to be desired from a good GM standpoint and from a talent evaluator. I don't want the Sabres to jump from one moron Darcy into another... Go Sabres...

Yeh I am, that doesn't take away from the fact the Kane deal was after the fact and Lemieux was a miscalculation. Remains to be seen if Kane is. Like the potential, but the attitude again gives me pause and is Murray just creating another problem despite getting rid of one of his own making.

That is what it sounded like the moment he was drafted and why if Buffalo was not prepared to meet his demands... why draft him... a definite miscalculation causing some to question Murray's ability.

Oh then you shouldn't be posting... seriously many fans have an understanding of Buffalo luck and would rather expect the worst and hope for the best. I think you misread fans angst versus what they hoped the Sabres would do.

True, but you had to know with an agent Dad former pain in the back side, that Lemieux had potential to be a problem and the Sabres couldn't afford to miss on him with all their needs. If none of the others they drafted come through, I would say Murray's first attempt is a failure... not a good sign. ???What do you think is an appropriate development time from after the draft to playing in the NHL a 2nd rounder should be given? 2, 3 or 4 years? I say no more than 4. But 2 years should give you a very good indication for a forward, 3 years said forward should be competing for a position. D is another story, they can take longer but not much. The clock is ticking for Murray on the guys he drafted last year, so far nothing no indication.

Really, isn't that the job of a GM... heck the NFL has so many psychologists evaluating these guys and their lives, they have a sense if they can make it happen and what will work. TPegs needs to make sure Murray does the same...

But why do I get the sense that since Lemieux wouldn't sign entry level Murray shipped him out at first chance. If Murray thought he might be a problem before the draft in that regard then why draft him... if he didn't think it would be a problem then that is on him and scouts for not doing their due dilligence and I again question his drafting ability. Granted this is his first time doing things, but unless he brings in an experienced coach that he can work with and not a yes man...ball @#$%$er, then I think TPegs should let him go. Sabres need to find guys in this draft past the first pick. Shipping off a 1st and Armia and Lemieux for Kane who has issues himself without a coach that can handle that scenario as well as Murray is a tall order and brings into question is Murray a train wreck. The next coach will give a big indication and if he screws this up, TPegs needs to fire him on the spot.

When TM crashes and burns for picking a coach that can licks his cahoonas but not coach and Gorges turns on this guy too Nolan will be back, or he fires one for disagreeing with him because the guy can actually coach and TM doesn't know what he is doing, LaFontaine and Nolan will be back.

Bull hockey, but that part I don't mind and the fact that TN he doesn't think is the right guy for the job is ok too, but why hold on to him for a year... You and other TM true believers can't have it both ways... I think he wasn't ready to deal the TN year 1, didn't have the balls to face the fans quite yet and instead of saying TN wasn't his guy, he tried to lay blame on TN despite ripping the team apart and giving TN players that couldn't find a net if you gave them both and N and T. Not saying he didn't make some good moves too, luv Bogo, hated Staphyl, was sad to see Myers go... Very concerned about Kane, somehow that will be a cluster. None of TMs later pics last year seem to be panning out... Lemieux was a cluster that forced a trade... should have known that going in. Very mixed bag so far for such a control freak... He needs to do a lot better in this draft with more than just the top pick which is a gimme and really needs two of last year's pics to come through. At least Darcy could draft D.... Can Murray draft centers and forwards and can the Sabres develop some? These second rounders need to be worth something talent wise and so far its looking very iffy.
