Shake up in the office PAT LaFONTAINE RESIGNS
North Buffalo replied to Jeanbe's topic in The Aud Club
If Nolan as well as Patty are gone does this mean the Sabres are moving to Hamilton... I smell a conspiracy. -

"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition
North Buffalo replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
Agreed, and that is the rub, but the Sabres seem willing to deal and Moulson is still out there. Just wondering what would allow the Sabres to get something other than picks for these guys during the trade deadline. Maybe the answer is nothing, but that has to be the asking price. Otherwise, re-sign Moulson and if the right thing comes along during the offseason, Moulson and Hoff should be shopped for young players. -
Bobby Mac TSN Video on Buffalo Sabres

Moulson looks back maybe not so fast and Erhoff chatter picking up too. 5 days to go. We will see. P.S. Keep Meyers. That set up for Moulson was awesome and empty netter took some nads roofing it. -
I too am concerned that the Sabres didn't get a young gun for this. It may not have been able to happen for just Miller, but you had to think trading both Miller and Ott would have netted you one up and coming guy. Stewart is not that, will see about Carrier... and late round 1st rounders are just that, who knows. Numbers as people have said before don't make quality. I am more excited about the 2015 first round pick. Flip Steward and the conditional pick for a prospect or two if Erhoff is included.

"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition

What is your logic on roster players. You want guys who are already playing at the NHL level that are young and have talent? While I like your sentiment, I do think it is going to be hard to find a team willing to give up a talented young guy. Maybe with all the picks the Sabres are getting, they could package an Erhoff for say a young gun out of Edmonton, but I still don't see it happening right now if say it was one of they guys on the Colorado. Any other teams out there, say the Blue Jackets or the Predators or even Tampa who need scoring from a Moulson, or D from Erhoff that could translate into some of what you are talking about? -
Stafford loses another friend... waaaaaaaa.

"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition
North Buffalo replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
TSN.ca had a note about him yesterday on its trade center article from Darren Dreger: At the bottom of it almost as an afterthought... Dreger: In terms of Myers, there is considerable interest according to sources close to the Buffalo Sabres. But GM Tim Murray isn't trying to push this guy out the door. Is he available? Is he interested in moving him? Yes he is. We're looking at Toronto as potentially a fit, as would be the Anaheim Ducks. And the Colorado Avalanche are definitely looking for a defenceman. So there will be options, but come ready to pay a premium. Maybe, but Ennis and Hodgson... really, not unless you get two quality forwards back in return. I don't see how any of that idea works unless you get two #1s for each in the 2015 draft. -
And we have been saying this for years to Darcy... nothing new and I couldn't agree more, get a high value center pick in this draft. Keep an eye out for a late developing D man. D take longer to develop generally and can a stud can be found and developed. I want centermen, guys who put out effort and can score. Get er done.

Last Olympics for NHL players, do you agree?
North Buffalo replied to millbank's topic in The Aud Club
I wish the game could be made up of amateurs, but with the KHL and Swedish Elite league etc... not sure you can keep out the professionals. The only thing I could see is if you made in an under 21 deal like the World Junior Championships. Short of that, I wouldn't trust any country to not put in ringers... And I agree Benedict... they the players do seem to like it and the Networks loved it. -

Plus St. Louis wife's family is from Southern CT. Worked with his father-in law for a little while in Stamford... so this would make sense and why Boomer is chirping about it. -

For Millbank and all my Canadian Sabre fans, now that the US is miserably out... Go Canada. Crosby showed up..!

Had a puck signed by Jerry Korab and Gil Perrault when I was a kid... at a GM dealership in Tonowanda. Use to chat with former D Mike Kotska, now with the Hawks, while the UMass guys were working out and when there was open skate at the Mullin Center. Really nice guy. Quick kinda hung out out back. Took care of Scotty Bowman's two white Shepherds, when he brought them into the Blue Cross Animal clinic when I was in high school. Worked cleaning up there. That is about all my band camp stories. Oh and I had a connected friend get me a hockey stick autographed by all the 75 Buffalo Sabres. Still have it. It is on an old Northland wooden stick.

I was disappointed that I had to work during the last two games... but man, now I am not. Interesting that both the Russians and Americans collapsed after tough losses. Guess it is hard for the big guys to take a punch in the mouth. The Canadians simply play hockey, tough game or not. Good lesson to learn. I figure with as much pressure both teams had on them and as close as the talent was, collapses were inevitable, though the American collapse's size was a little surprising. Back to the trade deadline discussion.

And your father so drunk Canadian that he thinks she rivals Bo Derek. Oh, I have heard that one the other way around. Canadian's just add in MUM and aaawk... to their whine.
