I’m not sure where to go from here. I don’t like the team. I rarely care about them. I’ve demoted them to TV2 in the mancave. I miss large portions of games without a thought. I guess the next step is to just abandon them. I don’t like any of the players. Anyone who I did like, has become infected with Sabresitis. Tuch, Krebs, Robinson, Clifton. The afternoon games are making it easier and easier to forget about the Sabres. I can’t just throw away an entire Saturday or Sunday because the Sabres play at 12 or 1. I got a kid who has ***** to do on the weekends. I’m really at a loss. It’s a long term relationship where I keep waiting for my spouse to get better, make changes, do something different. But it’s just the same ol crappy thing.

So the NHL takes a week off for the All-Star game then the Sabres have a 5 day break after one game played? Ok…..

But it’s not a guarantee to work. It could, it also might make things worse (I know how could they be worse).

The chart sucks. Most of these analytics charts suck. They all have their own legend usually cryptically in some way shape or form. It should be waaaay easier to decipher what is happening with a quick glance, instead I’m scrambling trying to make any sense of them. It’s probably the analytics community keeping that last gate closed as to feel superior or justify their jobs. /probably

My thoughts

The owners are like Pepé Le Pew chasing that poor female cat. They are absolutely insatiable in their desire for $$$ and will use any means they can to open that cash register. The easiest way, expansion fees. It’s probably the only way some franchises make money. The league is a disgrace and will probably fold in the next few decades.

I mean it’s what these media sessions are for. Meaningless drivel to satiate some inane need to hear them speak. I’d prefer to do away with all the nonsense but this is the environment we designed.

My question is why didn’t any of her teammates come to her defense? Are they also pricks like the other team and just let her fend for herself. Maybe she should be in a women’s league but if she was on my team I’d at least returned the favor to whoever took exception to her playing.

I don’t think I’ve like any Sabre team since Mike Peca was the captain. I’m drawn to players like him and it’s been 20 years. I want players I respect and have the respect of the league. Our current group of figure skaters gets laughed at on the reg during games and to their faces. Peca would have knocked a player out for 3 weeks if someone did that to his team.

Start? Dude has been injury prone since birth. You are the 10th person in this thread that has talked about moving him. How many teams are looking for an injury prone, overpaid dman with no offensive skill and a suspicious ideology of his offensive abilities.

When he starts going all Erik Karlsson in the O zone is when me and @Getpucksdeep start cringing. Inevitably, he’ll get caught deep, the other team immediately gets an odd mad rush and for what? Mattias doesn’t have any tangible offensive talent so his presence deep in the offensive zone is a waste of everyone’s time. Unless you play for the opposition, then you are praying he starts to “feel it” and get all loosey goosey in the O zone. I like (not love) Mattias. He does things other guys on this roster don’t. Unfortunately, no one told his body it needs to hold up for 82 of these contests. He’ll ultimately be a 60 game player that’ll be on IR as much as he isn’t.

Regardless of Diggs future, they need more juice at WR. People thought Sheffield and Harty were going to cure our ails🤣. They need two in the draft and at least one modest signing as they don’t have the $$$ to go shopping to hard.

Great analysis. I watch most Amerks games but my focus isn’t exactly on player analysis or development.

No team should ever be more than 2 seasons away from competing. Anything else is sheer incompetence.
