The NHL is always driven by short term cash grabs. The league consistently makes decisions that will eventually cost them. Whether it’s fans, credibility or even long term financial detriment, the NHL can’t get out of their own way.

I mean at least you put “boat” in there so people like me, who still view anchors as a good thing, get clarity.

This is kind of a weird topic as this stuff is negotiated through the CBA. Who would advocate for the fan’s desires in the CBA negotiating period? The players? ***** no. The owners? Laughable. I’m just not sure how we as fans would have any say in this at all.

I guess we’d need to have locker room access to correct disposition everyone’s hardness. Some guys really do love hockey. I’ll borrow a quote from MLB: “When they played together on the Cubs, Mark Grace once noticed Maddux walking around the pitching mound in a very strained, uncomfortable manner. Fearing his teammate was hurt, Grace approached the mound, only to find Maddux in an state of obvious physical excitement, the kind normally reserved for passionate endeavors. “Man, you really do love to pitch,” Grace marveled.”

By “next year”, do you mean 10 weeks from now? -
Definitely a product of the now news society we have created. Is it factual? Someone told me they think so. Great I’ll send it out as fact to the world.

I’d say Paranoid is top 10 rock song all time. Maybe best metal song ever. It’s certainly in the conversation.

Yeah it was poor taste

With such a credible name like Trainwreck Sports who would have thunk? 🤣

You are moving the goal posts. The trades should have happened months ago/ years ago. Instead we have a eunuch GM that bends over at every opportunity. My lord I ***** hate these guys. How ***** hard is it?

Meanwhile Sabres fans are worried about trading Jack Quinn
-
I’m getting my hopes entirely too high. Unfortunately the Sabres have made these players the exception, not the rule. It can’t be said enough how this org failed to recognize where the league was at and decided to “skill it up” thinking this league ran by dinosaurs was ever going to submit to that kind of effeminate play. North Americans, Canadians in particular have a certain image of a man in skates. It’s not Jack Quinn or Owen Power. It’s Josh Doan, it’s Brady Tkachuk, it’s Sam Bennett.

Sabbath’s hey day was a bit before my time. His solo career, while I could enjoy the music, he looked like an overweight house wife during the 80’s and 90’s so I wasn’t exactly gravitating toward his Karen like appearance. Ozzfest was really confusing to me in the beginning. I didn’t understand how this fat house wife curated all these awesome bands. Then it started to click. The man, the myth, the legend. The behind the music shows on VH1, not just his but the reverence other metal musicians had for him. I leaned into the Sabbath and it opened up the door a little wider for his solo stuff. Definitely love all his music now.

The point is to trade Quinn for an established current 30 goal scorer. The point of trading Power is to get a player like Brady Tkachuk. You use these players to catapult the franchise to the next echelon. Trade in maybes for definitelys. Pardon my poor grammar.

I’m not sure I’ve cared about anything less. Bring back all those fond memories of teams dropping 50 burgers in the Super Bowl on thenBills head. Such good memories. I didn’t watch the Four Falls nonsense for the same reason. I don’t need the heartache…again.

And this is why the Sabres are stuck where they are. Adams has been too worried about prospects blooming elsewhere. Who cares. They need to win now. Trade younger promising players for good established players.

How many teams have had two first overall picks under 25 as their top 2 defenseman? The team won’t succeed this way. There is a reason 35 year old dmen are still a thing. Experience matters. Every season teams grab one or two grizzled vets at the deadline just for this reason. The Sabres almost make it impossible unless they a supplement with more veterans. Is Bowen Byram an ideal player for Dahlin? Kesselring might the right kind of player for Power but he could use another 5 seasons under his belt. The whole process is flawed. You can’t win with a bunch of kids.

Honestly, I’m not sure they’ll ever be competitive until they get into the upper half of the league in experience. It means something. In every walk of life, I have to imagine, sports even more so. Sheer talent isn’t just going to translate into winning. They need guys who have been there and done it.

They tried to fabricate a similar rivalry with Clark and Angel Reese. To this point, it doesn’t seem Reese is good enough to make it a rivalry.

I think Vanek wishes someone called him ugly Bradley Cooper. This dude does resemble Roysie a bit. He was amazing in Just go With It.

Anyone following the WNBA and their pay concerns? It seems as if the players want to get paid on valuation of the franchise vs actual revenue they generate. I know Caitlin Clarke has turned the league on its head. I’ve peeped a few games. It should be written into their CBA what percent of the revenue they are owed. It probably wasn’t a thing as traditionally they weren’t making money. Maybe Caitlin has changed that. I’m all for fair compensation, just not sure what that translates to at this juncture.
