  1. I will be glad when this clusterphuck of a thread is history. It's literally painful to read most of the time. GO SABRES!!!
  2. A "bi-polar who won't work?" What aspect of attempting to play through a broken bone in his foot, another broken bone in his hand, all the while never knowing when his shoulder was gonna pop out of joint due to the labrum tear, suggests someone who won't work? You are confusing lack of maturity with lack of work ethic. Your characterization of him being bi-polar is simply ridiculous. GO SABRES!!!
  3. Again, 3 of those "parts" aren't even in the league yet. If they don't pan out as top 6 players, and odds are they won't, then all Kane has to do is maintain his top 6 ability. Not to say anything of Bogosian's unquestioned status as a top 4 D man. As X pointed out previously, Winnipeg bore the brunt of the risk in the trade. GO SABRES!!!
  4. If none of the prospects turns into a top 6, it most certainly is negated. GO SABRES!!!
  5. Absolutely. If they don't re-sign Stafford and none of the prospects pan out as top 6 players (and the odds are they won't), then 4/5 of what Winnipeg got back for Kane and Bogosian is worthless. In the meantime, Buffalo gets a plug-in D man with a better defensive game and a sure-fire top 6 forward if Kane comes back healthy. It's easy to see why Winnipeg demanded what they did because they assumed the most risk. GO SABRES!!!
  6. It will be interesting to see if Lemieux plays the same kind of hardball with the Jets when it comes to his contract negotiations. I'm not convinced everyone thinks he deserves to be paid like the first round pick he thinks he is. GO SABRES!!!
  7. Based on what criteria? The KNOWN quantitative assessments of the NHL players involved? Hardly. Kane is the best player in the trade and Bogosian and Myers are, at WORST, a wash, even though I give Bogosian the big edge in playing D. Advantage: Buffalo Based on the UNKNOWN quantitative assessments of Armia and Lemieux? I don't see how it's even possible to venture a guess about those prospects given that collectively they've had a cup of coffee in the bigs. Advantage: push. Based on the lowest #1 draft pick in the upcoming draft? A player not even identified at this point? It will be several years before ANY of the prospects can even begin to factor in the equation. GO SABRES!!!
  8. If that's true, I'm glad we're rid of the little ingrate. GO SABRES!!!
  9. ^This. As far as Armia, Lemiuex (sp?), and the late 1st go, we won't know anything about their value in this trade for a while yet. As far as the known quantities, we got the best player in this trade, and another that brings a more consistent defensive game to the mix. In terms of pure CURRENT and PROVEN NHL talent, Murray got the better end of the deal. Don't see how anyone can disagree with that aspect of the deal. GO SABRES!!!
  10. You're thinking of Wayne Cashman and yes, that would be fun to see. I remember listening to it on the radio. GO SABRES!!!
  11. Loved the 2nd episode. This promises to be a fun ride with Gilligan and Co; just great story telling on a completely different level. When it's all said and done, I predict that 'Better Call Saul' will be in the top three all time and Gilligan will have been the creator of two of them.
  12. Watched the first episode last night and am recording the second. I'm already hooked. The opening scene of Saul sitting down to watch VHS tapes of his old TV commercials was all I needed. The future is in black and white and the past is in color? nobody does dry openings better than Gilligan. The same 'Breaking Bad' team of writers, producers, directors, etc. that can now complete each other's sentences, promises to be even better than before. I can't recall the last time a spin-off series garnered such high praise from critics. But after last night, I can see why. It has the chops to stand alone.
  13. Always thought we were at a disadvantage with that small ice. Imagine Bert with more room? GO SABRES!!!
  14. Perhaps. How about his sexual assault of a woman while out playing golf with the boys? Or is rubbing your golf club against a women's ###### just a bunch of men playing a game, too? Maybe he just should have stopped at dry humping her but got carried away. He and the Dolphins made that little episode disappear before it gained more traction. EDIT: guess we can't use correct anatomical language for a woman's private area. wouldn't want anyone to think I was being crass.
  15. Don't like the RI signing in the least. He's a douche nozzle of the highest order and he was long before the bullschit with J. Martin and the 'Phins. That made him look like a Boy Scout compared to his other crap. Hope someone else beats him out for the job. GO BILLS!!!
  16. Massare purported to be related to Littman. Not sure how he would have a conduit into the team currently as Littman hasn't been part of the organization since the sale. Massare was one of the first to suggest the Pegulas had the inside track back in May, iirc, but that wasn't much of a stretch anyway. GO BILLS!!!
  17. I remember that series. Bert was on fire with those two guys. Never better. 9 points in four games before getting hurt. 'The Dream Line' indeed! GO SABRES!!!
  18. Thanks, "Gem"chz, this was a stroll down memory lane. In keeping with that spirit of nostalgia, I thought I'd link a 'Legends of Hockey' piece on Gilbert. Nearly brought a tear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXhVsl1XOgg GO SABRES!!!
  19. Don't you mean you can't "lose" them all? Or is this the Carrion Hockey League bizzaro reference? GO SABRES!!!
  20. I don't think the Pats* cheating had anything to do with Butler's great play. That play is where preparation meets lazy route running by Lockette, who's poor execution of that simple pattern made it too easy to jump the route. The play itself was there to be made as Wilson had 2 on 2 coverage with the Pats* defending run first and all kinds of space as a result; the exact look Wilson would like to see. The problem was that Lockette screwed the pooch by turning his chin inward too soon. On that particular route, he has to open his outside shoulder BEFORE turning his head inside to at least make the DB think a fade is possible. But as soon as he turned his chin first, Butler went right to the spot and beat Lockette to the ball. Just a lazy play by the receiver. While I don't like that Bevell called him out publicly, Lockette needs to do a better job there. None of that takes away from the GREAT play by Butler, though. GO BILLS!!!
  21. Not sure you can really gauge a player's talent when he's asleep. Then again, Murray is crafty. GO SABRES!!!
  22. I never thought Dom had anything to atone for. He gave everything he had to the team and fans every time he stepped on the ice. The same can't be said for the team giving him everything. I fully understood why he wanted to go get a cup and I was really happy for him when he won it. Not sure why every fan wouldn't feel the same. And that million dollars he gave upon his departure should have trumped everything anyway. I was embarrassed that fans had the gall to boo him when he returned as a Redwing. Classless reaction by a jaded fan base. GO BILLS!!!
  23. Was Dom's ceremony for him or the fans?
