Thanks for posting this. Yet another in a long line of interviews where Jack has conducted himself like a gentlemen. I'm still waiting to see even a flicker of the arrogance that some have implied he has. I see a quiet confidence in his ability but no arrogance or cockiness at all. GO SABRES!!! Still not convinced.

On the issue of his number. If he desires 11, I would have no problem with Bert if he said, "Wear it in good health, kid. And do the number proud." My already over the top respect for Bert would rise even more. GO SABRES!!!

I don't think it's been much of a hold up, anyway. Regardless of the standard contracts for rookies and the guarantee of remaining with the big club, it's still a question of him weighing the pros and cons of all of it as he's said all along. There may be practical issues involved as well. At any rate, going back to school is the only leverage he has. Not sure if that means anything much given the standardized structure of rookie deals, but there may be other things he wants/doesn't want in writing. Anyway, it's the biggest decision of his life so far. Perfectly understandable. GO SABRES!!!

I think it's absolutely the NCAA thing. He needs to keep his options open if, for whatever reason, he doesn't like the offer. I imagine there are a few contractual issues to iron out yet. Sammy didn't have that issue. GO SABRES!!!

I think we have no less than four Drurys now in the forms of Girgensens, ROR, Reinhart, and Eichel. There is just no overstating the importance of that kind of character in the room. You either follow or get the phuck out of the way and if you don't get with the program soon, you'll be gone. If I had to guess who'd be the first to do the Drury boombox toss, I'd say O'Reilly though. GO SABRES!!!

I don't know. Since we started speculating on ROR I don't know how many months ago, it was always Nikita, Grigo, and 21 to get it done. If there were some worried about Z, I don't recall it. GO SABRES!!!
