  1. I know he made the rounds after he left office, usually to plug a book or some cause. And he was a great guest on those shows in my opinion. Funny, self-deprecating, just an all around nice guy. I had a ton of respect for him when he was in office. He is one of the few that actually walked the walk. It's amazing how far the apple fell from that tree.
  2. That's a different question than "Was Perreault considered a generational talent coming out of juniors?" He was. McDavid is considered a generational talent coming out. It remains to be seen if he'll be the best player of his generation. GO SABRES!!!
  3. Ah yes, the old "respect is earned" gripe. Used to be respect was granted unequivocally as a simple matter of courtesy if nothing else, until one did something to lose it. We are so sensitive to the "dis" nowadays, we wouldn't know what respect is if it bit us in the ass.
  4. Eichel named National Rookie of the Month. Great start to his college career. http://nesn.com/2014/11/bus-jack-eichel-named-national-rookie-of-the-month-for-october/ We can't go wrong with this kid if we end up taking him. And I hope he always wants to prove himself against McDavid. Nothing like a talented player with a chip on his shoulder. GO SABRES!!!
  5. So how many regulation wins would that give Nolan in the last 40 games? Gotta be less than five. GO SABRES!!!
  6. I noticed in today's stats that Girgs is only -2 on the year in all 13 games played so far. I don't hold up plus/minus as the be all, end all stat, but in this case, it's amazing and truly telling of his effort on the ice. A -2, while on the ice for an average of 17+ minutes a game on a team with a goal differential like ours? I think that's an accomplishment. And he's STILL only 20 years old. Can't wait until he's a captain. GO SABRES!!!
  7. The compete level must be low in the mornings. GO SABRES!!!
  8. There is NO legitimate reason for someone to have to wait 3 hours in a line to vote and yet, they do. I wonder why that is.
  9. This is a good historical account, imo. I would only add how important gerrymandering has been to the GOP in states with republican governors. That has ensured seats in congress as much as anything.
  10. So, 4-0 then? GO BILLS!!!

    Zadorov?

Just keep the big kid up, continue his intense training regimen, and play him a few times in each 10 game segment if you feel the game is still too much for him. He's gaining benefits from being at this level that he can't get in juniors. Yes, playing time is important, but that benefit is outweighed by the drawback of losing control over his development to the KHL. GO SABRES!!!
  12. Election day should be held on a weekend which would enable more people to engage in the process. Wanna guess which party wouldn't want to encourage more people to engage in the process? This made me spit coffee. Funny stuff here!
  13. This shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. These cowards won't settle for anything less than impeachment proceedings for Obama's abuse of power. And it will come back to bite them in the ass like it always does. The Republican party was co-opted a long time ago and they are so far out of touch they just can't help themselves.
  14. Let me put it another way; what if we were never able to modify the Constitution?
  15. The Founders new and understood this very well. Most of them, anyway. Jefferson put it best when he said that governance is like a jacket that needs to be let out or taken in as ever changing societal requirements ebb and flow. That's the beauty of our Constitution; it is adaptable and that's just how it was always meant to be. I could never understand the strict constructionist arguments to the contrary.
  16. I think it's somewhere in the Constitution that you shall not phucketh with the cheap labor pool. I'm convinced that was the major motivation behind the amnesty granted by the Reagan administration.
  17. If this is what it took for Stewart to step up his game, they can't get rid of him soon enough. GO SABRES!!!
  18. Well, they were right about one thing: Reinhart won't learn anything new playing at that level and Murray knows this. But the alternative of playing him limited minutes in limited situations while risking his health due to his stature, wasn't going to teach him much, either. At least he's playing meaningful, if not developmental minutes with his junior team. GO SABRES!!!
  19. Is south Texas a bastion of left-leaning liberals intent on altering the balance of the electorate in that state? I've gotta believe that the Texas attorney general and/or whomever controls the election processes down there would be all over this if it was as blatant and widespread as you seem to suggest here. Of course I believe that misdeeds of this sort need to be handled swiftly and severely and I have to wonder why the authorities in Texas aren't dealing with the problem if it exists like you suggest it does? Have these people you know personally sought to report these election crimes in Texas? If they have, I find it hard to believe that their voices wouldn't be heard in one of the staunchest republican strongholds in the union. It just defies logic.
  20. Agree, two wrongs never make a right. But other than articles found in the ultra right wing blogosphere, I can't find any corroborating articles on this matter. You make it sound like an illegal can simply be instructed to go to certain voting booths and cast his vote. This is ludicrous. Are there polling places out there that DON'T require pre-registration? Like I said, a canard. Meant to deflect attention from the real ongoing efforts to rig the voting game in this country.
  21. I just can't agree with this at all. There is only one party actively seeking to change the balance and they are doing it by gerrymandering and ridiculous, 11th hour voter restrictions in the places they can't simply redistrict. There is only one party AFRAID of seeing as many Americans as possible exercise their constitutional voting rights, and it isn't the democratic party. This idea that illegal immigrants are being used to change the balance is a canard. Get used to hearing "impeachment" after mid-January. That's the only reason these congressional cowards put off any voting regarding war declarations vs. ISIS, etc.
  22. Thanks for this clip. I think this kid is gonna be something when he learns to play the game. One of the idiots at WGR went to see the Otters to check out McDavid and Strome. They happened to be playing Kitchener and he said the best player on the ice that night was Bailey. I realize that's one game and it's an idiot from WGR but still, that's a helluva thing to say given how good McDavid and Strome are. GO SABRES!!!
  23. I believe this is his strategy as well. There is no need to go on a spending spree for talented FAs until he has a solid new core in place. He's got a nice compliment of glue guys already. And the consensus best pipeline of young talent he can parlay into solid veteran players if he so chooses. He's got to hit on one of the superstars coming out the next draft though. GO SABRES!!!
  24. Sounds like Reinhart really let you down. But if you haven't seen him flashing his intelligence on the ice, his single greatest attribute coming out and the sole reason he was drafted #2 overall, I don't know what to tell you. Your music metaphor makes sense; he's playing Mozart and his linemates can't read music. GO SABRES!!!
