  1. Wilson is a bit of a physical freak for his size with huge hands and he's stronger than most at his position. A scout at the Senior Bowl was amazed the first he met him there. He has a cannon for an arm. You are right that the long out is still them measuring stick; if a guy can't throw the ball 20 yards from the far hash on time, he will have a hard time convincing people he has an NFL arm. Wilson can make that throw on a frozen rope. I think TT can as well. I just question his accuracy with it. I think he can get better. GO BILLS!!!
  2. I don't think theory means what you think it means in the scientific sense. 1 + 1 = 2 is a theory.
  3. Disagree. Wilson has made himself a good pocket QB and is night and day compared to his rookie year. Also, he was a pocket threat in college and has never been one to bail after his first option. He keeps plays alive with his feet and his eyes glued downfield. TT is still learning that aspect. Saw him a ton at VT and he was always a run first QB. My hope is that a few years of pro coaching combined with his intelligence and work ethic has helped. I just need to see it first. EDIT: wanted to add that Wilson is far more accurate as well. Defenses have learned to respect that. GO BILLS!!!
  4. I think TT has a better chance than most to adapt and make the transition. I hear he is extremely bright in the classroom and has been great at translating his coach's input to the field. But old habits die hard and it is often harder to unlearn old things than to learn new ones. I know he will bust his ass working at it though. Next week should be a good test for him. Petine has a good D. TT is quite familiar with them though. GO BILLS!!!
  5. Outstanding post! It applies to all professional team sports as well. GO SABRES!!!
  6. You can't design a sustainable offense around a QB that can't operate from the pocket consistently. In order to keep defenses honest, you have to make them defend the entire field and the whole field is only available to an OC and his QB when he can set up and stay between the hash marks. Defenses, especially good ones, have figured out the read option. You will not beat teams often enough to make it a staple to design your O around and your QB will take pounding as well. The latest example of several over the years is Kaepernick. Compare All-22 tape from last year to his prior seasons and you can see it plain as day. GO BILLS!!!
  7. Absolutely you should like what you are seeing. I just know regular season opponents will scheme to take away certain things and begin to limit his big plays off of broken plays. They are gonna force him to play from the pocket and make him beat them from there. Yes, he will continue to make the occasional huge play when things break down and he will look spectacular doing it, but sooner or later a QB has to beat teams using the whole field and you can only do that from the pocket. It is the nature of the beast. Our QBs looked good last night but I am willing to bet that league-wide, completion percentages were high and many QBs looked good the first week of preseason. GO BILLS!!!
  8. Karlos Williams and John Miller were revelations last night. TT is a spectacular playmaker who tends to bail if his first read isn't there. He will make plays but he won't make a living as a starting QB unless he can operate from the pocket. It is that simple. That is all the snark I got. GO BILLS!!!
  9. Why not? Our prisons are. Seriously though, I agree entirely. I have many posts to respond to in this thread. But I can feel my blood pressure rising as I'm close to this issue. When I calm down, I can shed some additional light.
  10. His arm, particularly his release, is elite. For such a lengthy build, there is very little wasted motion; extremely efficient. As for his brain, he has no problem making good reads. He blew teams away in that regard while being scouted and during his interview process. He can get us in and out of the right and wrong plays and has been since his first game. If there is an aspect of his mental game I question, it's his poise. He tends to panic and that's when his lower body mechanics breakdown most often. But even when he is collected and in command, he has a tendency be lazy with his feet. He just doesn't set them properly much of the time. I think that is the result of always being able to rely on his arm to make plays and it may be so ingrained that it is not correctable. GO BILLS!!!
  11. The phone stories are great. I am still waiting for the explanation as to why, if he destroys them every four months, he was able to give the league the phone records from an earlier phone from November '14, but the later phone containing the records the NFL wanted, was destroyed. More importantly, not one of our QBs has yet completed a pass today in practice. Indeed, there is no sign of EJ anywhere near the practice field. I believe he has already been cut.
  12. The goal is to privatize the educational system and make it a for profit enterprise. There is no way in hell teachers will be getting paid more. Quite the contrary in fact. This will have a compounded effect in terms of attracting new and good teachers to the profession. I can actually envision a day when teaching is outsourced to foreign countries via some sort of video method in order to satisfy share-holder demand for better profits.
  13. How else do you evaluate students? Really? A snapshot in time on a test is all you need? If you are citing PISA scores as proof that our students are lagging behind the rest of the world, I can only say it's a myth. Do yourself a favor and obtain one of these standardized tests. It's difficult because they are guarded like our top military secrets. I recommend the one for new kindergartners. They take it early in the school year. Good luck. Most adults have to consult math whizzes and even some of them have difficulties. Now, imagine a five year old tasked with this. And then imagine your job performance evaluation as a teacher DEPENDS on that child's outcome. It's a loaded game being played by deep-pocketed players who have designs on an $80b industry. Their biggest obstacle is busting the teacher's union. And they've been demonizing them for a generation now. They have to in order to curry the public opinion necessary to accomplish the task. In the meantime, in the face of having to "teach to the test" our students, younger ones especially, are denied the well-rounded quality education required. No phsy-ed, no art, music, and other play-related activities vital for the mental, physical, and social development of the students. In short, teachers can't teach anymore. But let's demonize them for doing a bad job in an environment purposely set up and rigged to do just that.
  14. Standardized testing is a scam, pure and simple. But it's a key tool in the push for privatization of our schools which is dependent upon demonizing teachers and busting their union first and foremost. It's one of the biggest money grabs in history. And we are asleep at the wheel.
  15. Agreed. I see a lot of opposing Dmen having to backpedal in the face of that kind of speed. LOTS of space indeed. GO SABRES!!!
  16. That PP performs more abortions than any other provider is a fact. That fact is indeed irrelevant to the other 97% of the work they do and the services they provide. Me stating that is not disrespecting anyone's morals and there was no need for you to go there. I'll leave the moralizing to you.
  17. Speed kills. And we added some serious wheels to Ennis and Girgs in the form of Kane, ROR, and Eichel. Five of our top six can skate with anyone in the league. Nice. GO BILLS!!!
  18. Plenty have made that argument elsewhere. Those invested in a certain political outcome look at PP as nothing more than an abortion factory when performing that service is a drop in the bucket of what they do and I think that's specious. The fact that they perform more abortions than any other provider is not relevant. Like I said, people can feel that PP has no place, but there are millions who disagree and who rely on the services they provide. And those specific services are NOT always readily available at local community health centers and certainly not on the scale offered by PP.
  19. Agree entirely. I seem to recall a story from the early 70s that reported ancient Chinese drawings of acupuncture pathways that depicted renditions of the central nervous system that were remarkably accurate. These drawings went back 2,000 years. How did they gain this understanding if not for the dissection and study of human cadavers? Amazing.
  20. Fitz/Gailey struggled against Ryan defenses historically, so there's that. GO BILLS!!!
  21. "For profit" is the buzzword being thrown around as you said. That's why I used it. The focus should be on the rest of my post. What is the "practical" disposal of medical waste, which is what aborted fetuses are considered. Again, I get why it's uncomfortable for some to consider, but for those without their heads in the sand, it's a valid question. I like your analogy to donating one's body to science upon death. It's what I plan to do. Partly because, as Harry Carry once said, if they attempt to cremate me, they will have problems extinguishing my liver.
  22. I think we can all agree that the sale of fetuses and parts for profit is deplorable. Does that mean there isn't beneficial medical research to be gained from aborted fetal tissue? Or from specific organs? I get that it's an uncomfortable thing to discuss. Especially for those that don't support a woman's right to choose. But that ship sailed long ago. The very uncomfortable truth is that aborted fetuses are considered medical waste. Is it better to incinerate that waste or donate it to science? It is dishonest to make the argument that Planned Parenthood is all about providing abortions and nothing else. In fact, performing abortions is a small percentage of their activity. And I'm not surprised that there are those out there who need to make political hay out of the controversy. If you don't think the 97% of their other activity is worthwhile, fine. Millions of others disagree and feel they provide essential health services for those that need them.
  23. Good stuff here and it explains one of the reasons why I hate twitter; reporters immediately sharing first impressions without the proper context. But the damage is done and many people consume this stuff as gospel truth. The EJ bias is hard to explain. Others have wondered if it had anything to do with Joe B being a big Florida State fan (he went to school there) and not being happy with EJ as their QB. That seems like a bit of a stretch to me. Your explanation is easier to accept; that Joe B made a bold declaration about Manuel and needs to support it with anything he can. But nothing could be more unprofessional from a journalist. I'll just chalk it up to Joe B having little insight into what he's seeing and reporting on. GO BILLS!!!
  24. I'll wait for the process to play itself out with regard to Kane being charged with and/or guilty of anything, but just to be clear, raping a girl has nothing to do with "cheating" on your girlfriend.
  25. Not saying it was good, just not nearly the schit storm portrayed by some in the media. Not even close. Wrong routes were run on the pick and a deep ball intended for Harvin, who simply stopped running. Joe B tweeted out "horrid throw" on the wrong route INT, which was complete bullcrap. Joe B also had EJ as missing "badly" when WRs were running against air, but he was a perfect 9/9. None of this is a defense of EJ Manuel. It is an indictment of Joe B and others in the media who tweet things without context. GO BILLS!!!
