  1. He scored two, actually. A little rust, but the wheels were on full display as was his toughness in leading the team with six hits. Very strong on the backcheck as well. I think the Kane-O'Reilly-Ennis line has the makings of something special. Ton of speed to spare. GO SABRES!!!
  2. "Garbage time" also entails playing against many 2nd stringers as the leading team seeks to rest its starters in the belief their lead is insurmountable at a certain point in the game. The only coaching adjustment the Patriots**** made was on the defensive side of the ball in the 4th quarter. It was the smart move and high percentage play to drop seven or eight into coverage at that point in the game. GO BILLS!!!
  3. http://waitbutwhy.com/2014/03/combined-wealth-world.html Interesting graphics that really drive home the point.
  4. Not sure why home teams are electing to wear their whites at home more, but it may have something to do with temperature this time of year. If it were December, I bet Miami would elect to wear their aqua-marine jerseys instead of their whites. I look for the Bills to elect to wear their blues later in the fall as well. GO BILLS!!!
  5. Yeah, the other Eastern Conference team had to be TB and the player had to be Stamkos. So glad Murray wasn't tempted. Eichel is a better prospect at 18 than Stamkos was and I think we've seen the Stamkos ceiling, which isn't bad to be sure. GO SABRES!!!
  6. I just felt it move. GO SABRES!!!
  7. Southern racists co-opted the Democratic party as well. The larger point is that conservatism has taken such a hard turn to the right since the 80s, that Goldwater conservatives wouldn't recognize the party. And I imagine they are spinning on spits as a result. Maybe this would be better food for thought in the politics thread. Like a religious zealot, I have co-opted this thread.
  8. Agree wholeheartedly here. One of the reasons I left the Republican party in the 80s was the increasing influence of the Christian Coalition and the Moral Majority on party politics. The conservatives of my dad's era like Goldwater and the like, would have been appalled had how they were co-opted. IMO, hypocrisy only begins to describe it.
  9. A pat on the butt is further assertion of Kane's desire for alpha male dominance. It's only a matter of time before he is peeing on O'Reilly's locker stall to mark his territory. GO SABRES!!!
  10. Duff has got to go. Or least not do radio. His style may lend itself better to television because he can't paint a picture with his words to save his life. GO SABRES!!!
  11. I think you mean "future detestable behavior." Your scenario is interesting and plausible, I think. DOJ/FBI better find something because there is a possibility of a backlash against Republicans for doing this for nothing more than political gain and dragging the process out for no other reason than to derail her campaign. They aren't going to change any minds in their own camp and I can see democrats and independents rallying towards Clinton because they perceive bullying tactics that have gone on too long. I don't think Biden can win. And after that soul-wrenching interview with Colbert when he couldn't say his heart was entirely in it, I'm not sure he should run, anyway. I know things can change, but I think Biden is burned out and a chase for the office wouldn't be for anything more than an ego stroke. GO BILLS!!!
  12. Semantics. How about we agree on "detestable" behavior instead of lapse in judgement. They've been investigating "Benghazi" for how long now? Why haven't they charged her or anybody else? Email crimes that compromised national security? State secrets revealed? Bring her up on charges then. Why the delay? Partisan politics, nothing more. You've compared this to Watergate a couple times now. Well, there was a conspiracy to commit a felonious act and the president was part of the conspiracy. Is that the angle Congress is taking here? Really? It's been over 2 1/2 years since she resigned as Secretary of State. 2 1/2 years. Repeat: Congress is derelict in their duties if they suspect a crime has been committed and haven't charged her yet. Are all acts of terrorism acts of war that deserve a military response? Be careful, because there is precedent here.
  13. He's still playing himself back into shape. We should cut him some slack for a bit, no? GO SABRES!!!
  14. Duff is brutal. I have no idea where the puck is half the time based on his description. Peters is a lot better than Ray, too. GO SABRES!!!
  15. Great idea for keeping co-workers away from your lunch in the office fridge.
  16. OK, so what would you do? Do we arrest and prosecute people for lapses in judgment? Poor decisions? Stupid, arrogant behavior? Seriously, in the absence of any laws broken, how would you punish her? She will pay a price if the electorate deems her unworthy as a result of her behavior. In the meantime, the people running Congress should bring charges if they have something. Why haven't they done so yet? Please tell me it's for reasons other than partisan politics and the desire to string this along for the duration of her campaign. If she's really such a menace to "national security" they are remiss in their responsibilities by not bringing formal charges.
  17. If laws were broken, she should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of it. If she compromised the security of the nation, why is Congress dragging this out? I think we both know the answer to that. If her lapses in judgement convince her constituency she is unfit for the office she aspires to, she won't get elected anyway. Simple as that.
  18. Totally agree discretion is important. And we can certainly criticize Clinton on that score. But this retroactive classification is nothing more than manufactured, dirty politics.
  19. You mean "retroactively classified" information?
  20. This Shkreli guy is a major dick. Love the part about how he urged the FDA not to approve certain drugs made by companies whose stock he was shorting. He has no clue how real people live in the real world. And Wall Street is full of these financial wizkid sociopaths who rig the game. Make and lose millions every day while doing nothing more than entering keystrokes on the computers in their office. I hope he dies of a painful infectious disease.
  21. And they are spectacular!
  22. Yeoman's work here. Thanks for taking the time and effort to illuminate the subject. I have much to learn as a result.
  23. Your insight and edification is highly appreciated. Your last paragraph especially, makes a lot of sense. What do political scientists think of the idea of publicly funded elections?
  24. It's not about one candidate. It's about how huge dollars from single entities can buy candidates in elections all over the country, especially in congressional races. That has rendered the idea of one man, one vote meaningless and has perverted our system as a result. So yes, I do think it's a dire situation as a result. Not sure the 'Manchurian Candidate' is the proper reference. None of these bought candidates needs to be "activated" at a future date. They know full well who they serve from day one. No brainwashing required.
  25. Belicheat**** changed his scheme in the fourth quarter. He routinely rushed only four or three and dropped seven or eight into coverage. He stopped sending pressure through the A gaps on blitzes and TT had an easier time seeing the open receivers he was missing earlier. I don't think they got lazy; I think they stopped bringing pressure and crowding the LOS. Some of that was due to Roman using more multiple WR sets and less TE and FB formations, too. GO BILLS!!!
