Reinhart: Fewer minutes in NHL or more minutes in AHL?
K-9 replied to pi2000's topic in The Aud Club
I saw that. Looks like he will be centering ROR and Ennis tomorrow against Tampa. He does a lot of little things right on the ice and I can see why DD is giving him a top line opportunity. GO SABRES!!! -

Revisiting one burning question about Terry — why did he buy the Sabres?
K-9 replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
(in voice of jeff spicoli) Isn't it OUR team, Mr. Hand? As his presser after the BILLS purchase suggests, no owner is more aware of the concept of owning "our" team than the Pegulas. He seems to view it as a shared community asset. -
Same here. If McGinn keeps this up, we have to redefine the term "throw in." The man can play. GO SABRES!!!

I didn't attempt to insult anyone here. My only point is that real change only happens at the grass roots levels and requires real involvement by people committed to the cause of affecting that change. All of us have to spend less time with our devices in that regard. Good. If that gets him off our school board, I am all for it.

I wish it were tongue and cheek, but what else could musichunch have been implying in his post? Not to mention the tomes written by GoDD suggesting as much in the past. -

Mainlinin' the Pegulacillin?! I can see that in carefully controlled medical care facilities in extreme cases, but if the Magic P ever hits the streets in that form, watch out. -
Will this coming of age involve the actual lifting of eyes from the electronic devices and engaging in three dimensional conversations and exchanges of ideas in settings with actual people in actual spaces?

While others might imply that he bought the team as a way to deflect attention from his involvement in a pedophile's serial rape of young boys spanning decades. -

What are you really trying to say here? -
Outstanding analysis here. Eichel's maturity, personality, and character also seem to lend themselves to the cast Murray has assembled. Just a great fit. McDavid is at a huge disadvantage in that regard in Edmonton. GO SABRES!!!

I don't know. When a person living in Pittsburgh has to drive to a certain bridge in the city just to be able to listen to the Sabres game on the radio, it qualifies as being a big fan in my book. GO BILLS!!! -
Thanks for pointing this out. Having long ago given up trying to find any positive aspects to Weber's game other than sticking up for teammates, I will begin anew by focusing on his board play. I only hope I don't miss it because I often have to close my eyes for long periods when he is on the ice and the puck is in our zone. GO SABRES!!!

26CornerBlitz posts a ton of Sabre stuff in the 'Off The Wall' forum at TBD. Very grateful to others here for doing the same. GO SABRES!!!

This. Not to cast aspersions towards Nolan, but DD is just a more cerebral coach. I have seen more set plays off of face offs, regardless of zone, in three games than I saw in Teddy's entire tenure. Of course, it helps to have the horses. But it also helps to have Gary Stevens riding it vs. the stable hand who is better left to mucking the stalls. GO SABRES!!!

Weber can take a seat anytime he wishes. Love his pluck, hate his game. Tough day at the office for Eichel, and I understand the criticism for the lack of effective back check on Stamkos' goal, but that goal was a fluke with a perfect carom from a pass that hit the side of the net and bounced straight onto Stamkos' stick. Chad Johnson actually made the poor play that started that sequence. His pass behind Gorges resulted in Gorges going one on two in the corner and losing the puck. GO SABRES!!!

Given it seems like half our D are skating in mud out there, I'd be all for giving him a look. He has wheels, mobility, and a great shot from the point (I'm looking at you Tank Commander Weber). Why not? GO SABRES!!!

Agree with this take. Easy to see why TB was in the finals last season. Their D zone exits and O zone entrances are a thing of beauty; just elegant hockey. I thought Johnson did well and was the victim of some poor luck on three of those goals. Liked most of Reinhart's game today. Hopefully he can garner 13 minutes a night on that fourth line when Gionta comes back. As many have said already, I think we'll see this team start to gel after 20 games or so. It's only a matter of time. GO SABRES!!!

Reinhart: Fewer minutes in NHL or more minutes in AHL?
K-9 replied to pi2000's topic in The Aud Club
Thanks, gentlemen. So it will be Larsson centering Girgs and Reinhart as originally planned, I guess. I just don't see how you can keep Zemgus off Eichel's line. I think DD will be experimenting for a bit. Anyway, I hope they can find Reinhart 13 minutes a night on that third line. I think he'd be better served by that than learning the AHL game, in spite of more ice time in the A. GO SABRES!!! -

Reinhart: Fewer minutes in NHL or more minutes in AHL?
K-9 replied to pi2000's topic in The Aud Club
Yes, but on what line? Originally, he was slated to skate with Eichel and Kane but after Girgensons played so well with them, does he just break that up? If so, does Gionta then drop down to wing with Larsson and Reinhart? And can a line like that even be effective? I honestly don't know. I'm trying to find Samson a spot to garner 13 minutes or so a game. GO SABRES!!! -
I agree here. Put Kane on that line and let Moulson skate with Eichel and Girgs. Those combinations looked good in preseason. And as impressive as he was last night, Kane's game is a better compliment to O'Reilly's vs. Eichel. Jack needs the puck and Kane doesn't like to give it up while preferring to look for the shot instead. I love that aggression, I just think it can be put to more productive use with O'Reilly at C. Give Jack the puck, go to open spots, and let him create. Perfect for both Moulson and Girgs. GO SABRES!!!

Reinhart: Fewer minutes in NHL or more minutes in AHL?
K-9 replied to pi2000's topic in The Aud Club
I tend to agree with this assessment. When Gionta comes back, where does Samson play on the third line? After last night, I can't see Girgs anywhere other than Eichel's wing as his game perfectly compliments Jack's. Does Larsson centering Gionta and Reinhart work? I honestly don't know. Or does Disco Dan ignore the impact of Girgs last night and go with his original plan of Gionta on Eichel's wing with Girgs and Reinhart playing with Larsson? GO SABRES!!!
