I would agree. The question with Hughes is how much he benefits from the other 3 lineman.
-
And it won't matter if they stumble upon a quarterback. New England can't draft to save their lives. Their assistants routinely fail when they get positions with other organizations. The common denominator for the ones that don't? They find a quarterback.
-
You can keep saying it but it still won't be true. While most "experts" or at least those who pose as experts agreed he was a reach, there were those that liked the pick. It definitely wasn't everyone.

Play calling isn't done in a vacuum. It's a function of situation and available personnel. He may very well suck but there is absolutely no way to evaluate him given what he had to work with.
-
For the 10,000 time, how can anyone know what kind of OC he is until he has something to work with?
-
Yes. They changed it to 30 minutes this CBA. There was at least one instance(NJ) were a team played a goalie just a few minutes so as to stop them from becoming a FA

Sabres trade Luke Adam to Columbus for Jerry D'Amigo

Oh......., that's a fence? -
Conservatism, creativity, decision making. It's all so over rated and overblown. You get quality personnel and you can run four plays over and over again, say like the K gun offense. Your quarterbavknis terrified and your defense is great. If anything, they should be even more conservative. By the way Tank, every time I see you mention the Bills D, I think of your " they will be historically bad" comment. Sorry.

Kane's essentially a 25-50-75 guy with a penchant for scoring big goals. I will be disappointed if Samson doesn't come close to those numbers.
-
I'm actually kinda of hoping that Zemgus is our Toews and Samson our Kane, albeit a different type of Kane. I would love Hall and eventually know there will be a need for a sniper , maybe Evander speaking of another Kane

I still don't understand how everyone can agree that the Quarterback and both guards are amongst the worst in the league, one OT is having a sub par year and the other OT is a 7th round draft choice just learning his trade yet somehow we blame the OC for offensive futility. What exactly is he supposed to do ?

I have to say I agree with your point but not your choice of words. Risto and Nikita could be their Keith and Seabrook and should be going nowhere

Sabres are ruining Murray's plan---what does he do??
tom webster replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
If TM had only one plan then we, as Sabres' fans would all be in a world of hurt. No good executive creates a business plan without preparing for every possibilty. Building a sports team is a fluid situation as you never know exactly how things are going to unfold. Will player X develop early, late, not at all? What impact will player Y have on overall plan? As others have stated, its way too early to know how this season will play out but I am confident that TM has a plan for every scenario. -
I always find it interesting when two reasonably fair and intelligent people can hear the same thing but not hear the same thing. I'm not saying you are wrong and I am right but I felt as though TPegs was telling TM to be patient and that things don't happen overnight.

GDT: Flames @ Sabres, 12/11/2014, 7:00 pm, MSG

I am starting to feel the same. About him and Ennis actually. -
While the NBA recognizes the Clippers as the successor to the Braves through San Diego, it was actually a complicated business transaction where John Y Brown and the Celtics owner actually swapped franchises allowing john y brown to own the Celtics and their owner(Levin??) to get the San Diego franchise
-
What about Antoine Walker? He spent most of his pro career with the team formerly known as the Buffalo Braves( Celtics) and appears to have lost all $110 million of his career earnings. Surely we can help this guy out.
-
I'm pretty sure the stat is when the other team scores 21 or less against his team, not average 21 overall
-
Me as well.

First, I agree with the argument that they don't necessarily have to end up in the top 2 to complete the full rebuild, but ..,, Second, I still see too much "giddiness" over the talent level of some of the prospects. I am very optimistic for the future but it will go down as the greatest four years of drafting in any sport if half the guys careers march the level projected for them by some on this board .

Again, a voice of reason

I would agree, excellent question. I may use it myself once I can confirm the exact numbers.

Game Discussion Thread Rangers at Sabres 11-21-2014 postponed
tom webster replied to spndnchz's topic in The Aud Club
No, just making decision before Rangers getting on plane. -
Beat me to it. And how about Peter Chiarelli winning it 5 years after being hired. I'd take that from TM
-
In fact, Ray Shero was hired in 2006 and won Cup two years later. Of course , most of tanking happened before he was hired. Likewise, Stan Bowman was promoted just one year before winning it all.
