As an alumnus, I have no real issues with it and so far I think White has done a tremendous job with the program which buys him the benefit of the doubt. A rebranding like this is something that will take years to evaluate.

I am on record as saying that I might have been wrong about Ennis. I think he can have a place in the top 6 even when the team is a contender and his contract may end up being a huge bargain.

First, maybe I will ask that this thread be merged with my annual off season contest but that's a subject for another day. As for my line up projections; Kane - McEichel - Sharp Moulson - Reinhart - Ennis Foligno - Girgensons - Gionta Deslauriers - Larsson - Mitchell McCormick Hjalmarsson - Bogosian Zadorov - Risto Georges - Pysyk Weber Jones Enroth -
But that coach likes his linebackers big and physical. Alonso is an undersized linebacker who relies on his speed and quickness coming off his second major knee injury
-
Well he has 5 or 6 good games on his resume so he has room to grow.
-
They have Brown and Nigel playing inside and will bring in David Harris. Alonso was very over rated and played inside linebacker on one of the worst run defenses in the league. With nickle and dime packages seventy percent of the time they won't even have an inside backer on the field.
-
Sorry, personally feel Kiko is very overrated. Was awesome for about 6 weeks and coming back from his second major knee injury.
-
Completely agree. Also would not be surprised to see Spiller sign with Eagles.
-
Here it comes. We can all exhale.
-
Thanks, I thought I was missing something.
-
I actually heard it's either a third if they win two rounds and he plays 50% or a fourth if both conditions are not met
-
The only benefit to Horton's LTIR happens if you spend all the way to cap. It should be at least three years till the Sabres get there so the benefit to Buffalo is not near to where it is for Toronto.
-
Actually said they probably wouldn't all be traded, thus implying that some of them would. No big shocking news.
-
I believe because of his age when signing and because it wasn't a front loaded deal signed before last CBA, none of that applies.
-
I may be wrong but I don't think his retiring would effect anything at all.
-
That contract wasn't insurred so it didn't matter that it didn't count against the cap, it was still $22 million over the next four years they would have had to pay for someone not playing. They can't afford that, Toronto can and now Toronto gets $5 million in cap space they wouldn't have had for the next four years.
-
Its strictly a money deal. Toronto can afford Horton on LTIR, Columbus can't.

I tell people all the time( except for my kids of course) that the reason most of us stop the partying is we just run out of money and have to start making a living. You take the money restriction away and I might still be wondering how I made it home every morning.
-
Exactly. People don't remember but Gilbert skipped a couple of games and wanted to go back home because he was homesick and had trouble adjusting after coming from a French Canadien background. Imagine what he would have to be like for a kid from across the globe,
-
No. Horvat was the non starter in E .Kane to Vancouver talks
-
Aud, having trouble replying directly but it could just be that they listed them alphabetically and the Sabres' people just happened to fall that way.
-
I said it awhile back but the rift between Nolan and Muckler started when he refused to use Satan after Muckler had acquired him, preferring instead to play Ed Ronan and the like in the playoffs
-
Let me be clear. I want McDavid but if Buffalo doesn't get him, I want Toronto getting him.
