Former Rigas house for sale in Coudersport
MattPie replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Aud Club
Guilty (although I dislike their finishes and quality). We looked at this house earlier this year, but it rapidly exceeded our budget. -
Who is getting the Sabres first 5 minute major this year?
MattPie replied to SHAAAUGHT!!!'s topic in The Aud Club
There are currently 3 teams with 0 fights and 4 more with 1. This isn't a huge deal. The teams at the top generally aren't at the top of the standings. https://www.hockeyfights.com/leaders/teams -

Right, and wrong. 🙂 -
JAG is a guy that's relatively easy to replace at the same level. So in this case we might just have a difference of the value of these guys to the team. All I'm saying is that there were probably dozens of guys in the league those years that if you swapped them out, the results would be almost exactly the same. I'm not saying any player, but plenty that put in the same spot would have performed as well.

They were both JAGs, one got lucky to be drafted by the Oilers and the other by the Islanders. By that point in the draft, three teams weren't even bothering to pick any more. In the 1st round 18 teams, by the 10th only 15 were picking, and after that fewer and fewer per round until Washington, NYR, and NYI were the only teams picking in rounds 16-25. Let's not pretend either of those two were anything other than a lucky break. Kind of like Olofssssson for the recent Sabres.

GDT: Coyotes @ Sabres 8 November 2022, 7 PM MSG-B, BSAZ
MattPie replied to SABRES 0311's topic in The Aud Club
To be honest, 1 team per year is 6.25%, so it's probably enough that it's a questionable measuring stick. I don't think 0.600 points has ever missed, but it's not as easy to look at a record and figure out. -
+1. when your O-line has the advantage of the D being spread all over the field trying to defend passing, a QB that'll run around almost anyone, and the occasional run, they'll look a lot better than one that needs to rely on inside runs and a stable QB pocket.

I thought We've has been a solid poster, I'd hardly call his contract an albatross.

That's such an interesting edge case. There may be "game worn" (I guess) 00 Gotaheads around, but never saw actual game action.

That's good catch. He played 3 games in 95-96 (Before GH), and then not again until 98-99 after the number rules were put in place. Also, stumbled onto about Kevyn Adams:

It's almost like some of the thread is bitter. -

Any truth that they're dragging some snowmakers from KB to blow on the visitor bench when Miami shows up?

GDT:Sabres at Calgary Flames 10/20/22 9:30pm MSG, WGR550
MattPie replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
The 8-9 minute clips are posted on YouTube by the NHL and a slightly different version by SportsNet, usually within an hour or two of the end of the game. I just watch those most of the time. -

Not sure, both times I've watched that guy he's been wearing Sabres gear.

I think the 24 shots in the first two periods is a positive. You're just succumbing to recency bias on the 24 shots in the third coloring your judgement. (this is meant entirely as a joke).

Anders Bjork Clears Waivers, Has Been Assigned to Rochester
MattPie replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Realistically, with even basic investing and a middle-class lifestyle he doesn't even need a next chapter past "do whatever I want". -

In case anyone is wondering, the Sabres are NOT scrambling about the cap right now due to the Ben Bishop trade. If the numbers were a little different the team may have ended up in a place where they had to keep Bjork up and send down one of the ELC players otherwise. -
David Ayers was the Leafs Zamboni driver that was called in to play for the Canes in Toronto, and won the game. I suppose he's technically played a professional game, if they bring him in would it count against the roster limit? I'm not sure about amateur, it is way more Icarus-like to me.

I mean, it's a sushi bar so some sake may have been involved lol. People in general are surprisingly not good at keeping their mouths shut.
