Sabres Murray: Believe Nothing I Say, And Everything I Do
shrader replied to dejeanneret's topic in The Aud Club
Well then we've got an actual writer in our midst because the language and style is far more professional than most of us bozos around here. Anyway, I do want to see that "Lemieux wouldn't sign" rumor go away though (speaking of which, Jakubec is not TSN). That one is absurd on so many levels. -
Sabres Murray: Believe Nothing I Say, And Everything I Do

So where is this cut and pasted from? -
The NES one? My god that sucked. The arcade game was great, so I hope that's what you mean. I remember being a part of a group of kids that beat it one day and how it drew a good sized crowd of kids gathered around the machine. I don't even want to think about how much money we blew on that machine though.

I think you're taking it a step too far with the Kassian stuff. What was going to draw most to Lemieux is his pedigree. It's one thing to play a physical style, we've seen any number of players who do, but it's another to be the son of a guy who thrived in that role, especially come playoff time. That is going to stick to Lemieux for a long time.

I've been sick all week and it's probably the worst bug I've ever had. In the big picture it really isn't much, but I don't remember feeling as poorly as I have this week. Oh, and it annoys me that they give you a 21 day deadline to make all the optional selections on your new home, yet 6 days into that window they haven't even contacted us to setup the appointment for that. Why don't they call it what it really is, a 2 week (or less) deadline? I can go in whenever I want to see things, but there needs to be an appointment with any of the actual designers. I'm sure the next few months will have a lot of this, me being stressed out by things I have no control over.

It's way too early to even be having this discussion given all that can happen over that time. What we do know is that there is a very highly likely case where Kane is going to be skating next to a very good young center. Whether it is McEichel or even Reinhart, if some chemistry is formed there, he could very well be producing career numbers. You'd have to think that there would be a desire to continue skating on that center's line as he (the center) enters his prime.

All-time Sabres center ice logos and red line designs
shrader replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
If we ever get another outdoor game, it should have Bills' logos in the red line. -
That's an interesting list. They're all pretty much the same age except for Smyth and Jagr who were in their 20s during the 1950s. It really illustrates the shift in the league towards relying on an impact from their young players.

Puck Daddy says GMTM's desire for Luke Richardson as coach
shrader replied to SDS's topic in The Aud Club
I still have no idea who Nolan agreed to a contract. It has played out perfectly for Murray. Whether he wants Richardson or someone else, that coach didn't get saddled with this miserable season and instead gets to come in with a deeper talent pool and a team that now wants to win games. The only risk they ran was losing out on their choice while they sat back and waited for a year. -
I picked up a reissue of an intellivision console that came with about 50 games on it for my brother for Christmas. We've been reliving our youth on that machine each time I'm over there. It's fun trying to get his 4 year old to play a game or two that we grew up with.

Do I receive a complementary sketch of us playing the game if I show up?

All-time Sabres center ice logos and red line designs
shrader replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
I like when teams use their own distinct design in the red line. They seem to be fairly common in the NHL, but not very creative at all. Here is what I've found so far: -Anahiem -Calgary -Columbus -LA -Montreal -Ottawa -Philly -St Louis -Tampa -Toronto -Winnipeg I supposed Dallas counts too, but that one's not exactly unique. Edmonton's inversion of the typical diamond pattern is interesting. Colleges seem to be far more creative with it. We always had this at BU, which is where I first became aware of these kind of patterns. They don't use a piece of the standard logo and instead use something related to their mascot. Ferris State has a similar one. I feel like there are more out there, but their college section is very incomplete. -
He's still over a year away from having to sign. That's why the whole thing makes no sense. There is absolutely zero leverage right now.

I miss that game so much. I may have to steal that from you.

Winning feels like a slightly generous term in this case. They do seem good at getting games to OT though. Where have I seen that from that team before?

Did I hear it right this morning, people are actually outraged that they stripped them of the title? What message are we supposed to send to the kids here, that it's ok to cheat as long as your parents do it?

How does this work in CHL language? Was it our worst defenseman, a 4th line forward, and our backup goalie?

I can't count the number of nights that were wasted during college on this game. I don't think anything was funnier than doing a 4 person match with one hit kills and nothing but slappers. We always called that moment when you're circling each other trying to land the kill shot the "circle of death". That with slappers was pure comedy gold. Ok, it was actually funnier when you did have guns but one person was out of bullets. Was this also a N64 game? I remember a couple different Griffey games over the years, but my friend and I had a ton of fun with the N64 one. We'd have a fantasy draft and play out a 4 team tournament.

I've never fully understood the craze over the newer Zelda games. Give me the original any day. The snes one was good too, but I never actually played that until it was at least ten years old.

Lost in the complaints is the fact that Tyreese is dead. That makes it a good episode in my book
