  1. What does a tie count as in the NFL?
  2. How could the league not target 2017-2018 for this expansion. That has to be exactly what they have planned as a part of the 100th anniversary.
  3. It'll be disappointing. It always is.
  4. Until the the creation of the extra point for overtime games, the point system was the same exact thing as a winning percentage, just a friendlier way of quantifying it.
  5. At one point a few months before the draft he was thought to be one of the top 2-3 guys, but that fell off. Granted it's way too early to say something like this, but looking at the top portion of that year's draft, it really doesn't look like it was very strong. There doesn't seem to be a real break out player in that group yet.
  6. A game that doesn't count towards the standings at all? No, that never happens.
  7. That's the way it currently works right now in the rare case where you get a two man advantage in OT. It really shouldn't disrupt much since it will be fairly rare.
  8. That's a great one, along with all the other equipment updates.
  9. That doesn't work because I doubt anyone pictures Inky as a 5 foot tall creepy looking bald guy. I'm going to go with LGR. If anything, Inky would be Mac, swooping in immediately.
  10. They're not sour grapes. You don't get into a position like his without losing players constantly. He had guys for very short windows when he was with the US developmental program and also his time as an assistant coach at BU. He knows how things work. Hell, he himself didn't stick through college his full four years (granted, he left to try to make the Olympic team).
  11. I've never quite understood how people call themselves purists when trying to shoot down things like bigger nets. Look at all the changes we've seen over the years, whether its no touch icing or moving the nets closer to the end boards (and then further away again). Did those same purists have issues with those changes too? The game is constantly changing, so the purist defense just seems lazy to me.
  12. "I'll give you 4 space yen a season over a period of 5 fezzigs." There, we didn't talk actual terms.
  13. I can't wait until it leaks out who voted for him. These award voting systems always seem dumb to me, but this one takes it to a new level.
  14. Ties are still going to happen. Now just try to picture yourself as the fan who just sat through a game that in the end means absolutely nothing. That system would anger a lot of people.
  15. I just want to know which poster is the one lurking third in line, waiting to "accidentally" drop a magnum condom out of his wallet.
  16. That's why I said distant future. It might be something like 20+ years, but I think they go there some day.
  17. At least it still involves multiple people actually having to play some sort of positional game. I personally can't wait to see it. Regular season overtime is pretty much a sham as is, so they might as well open it up a bit. I still think less players on the ice is where the game will eventually go to in the distant future.
  18. Demonstrate value Engage physically Nurture dependence Neglect emotionally Inspire hope Separate entirely
  19. I'm sure it's a dumb question, but can you look for work in Rochester?
  20. Another mid-season guy. Interesting. I may have to read up on what happened there. Edit: He kind of sounds like a moron.
  21. Keep in mind that the whole story was told at a facility where alcohol was aplenty. :D
  22. There's been a trend in recent years of teams drafting college players and then convincing them to jump to the CHL because they think they'll develop better over there. The first one who comes to mind (mostly because a lot of people here wanted to draft him) was Jamie Oleksiak. There have been others as well but I'm too lazy to dig up the names. Charlie Coyle was at BU and then left for the Q mid-season in his sophomore year, but that was a bit of a different case where he wasn't happy.
  23. They've already got a gimmick in place called the shoot out.
  24. Randy Carlyle? You mean the guy who received a third place vote for the Jack Adams Trophy?
  25. I really don't think it's all that important, but I'd put the cup winner on their every year. That's what hockey is all about.
